The pictures for this rental do not do it justice. This rental is beautiful from the cathedral ceilings & "upta camp" feel to the mind blowing mountain landscape you can see right from your living room. It is 9:20a on check-out day, and we are all very sad to leave. Morton & Furbish Rental agency was a pleasure to work with; always answering questions we had, and giving us a list of restaurants/places to go (which was helpful). When staying at this rental you will be awe'd at being able to see dozen of deer throughout your stay right up close. Moose alley (2 mins from this rental) was a fun and affordable place to go bowling, play pool/or in the arcade, or just sit and listen to music or eat food. Cascade Stream Trail was very beautiful to take pictures of the waterfalls, but I wouldn't recommend it in the winter time...Trails were still snowy & icy making the hike more "experienced"! We only went out to dinner once to the Red Onion, which I wouldn't recommend; Service and food was both bad =( We wanted to go atving, but we came over Easter weekend so aTV trails weren't open yet. We will defiantly be coming back! Maybe next time when the aTV trails are open so we can make a day of atving!!!
Oh, and did I mention...my bf of 2 yrs proposed to me in this very rental (after an easter egg hunt we had Sunday)...Very memorable trip!!!
Easy, relaxing, no hassle vacation

Booking the rental was very easy and convenient; the posted availability and price were accurate. Check in was a breeze; the agency provided a map of the area, a list of activities, even a coupon book! The cabin is beautiful, the view is breathtaking, we never tired of sitting on the deck, even when it was drizzling, it was spectacular. Very neat, well kept, well appointed, the owners have thought of everything. We lacked for nothing and were able to simply spend more time enjoying our vacation. It was a five minute drive to the aTV trails and the lakes; we were able to rent a boat for 6$ at a local retailer and spend the afternoon on the water which was so serene. The town is unbelievably friendly and has a great main street with plenty of restaurants and shops. The only drawbacks to this particular property are street noise (right on rt 4, but we enjoyed the convenience), lack of a fire pit and it does not have water access. These things were minor; quite frankly it was easy to make it a home and we did not want to leave.

As two married couples from australia who stayed 5 nights at the Dodge Pond Hilton, we can thoroughly recommend this property. The views through the cathedral windows taking in Dodge Pond and the mountains behind is worth the rental cost by itself. The kitchen is very good and contains everything anyone would need when on holiday. The views from the first floor balcony were fantastic and it was a great place to sit and drink aperitifs after a hard days hiking in the absolutely beautiful country all around this property. The bedroom down stairs is the best one with the one in the loft suffering from a smaller double bed (although there are two single beds up there as well and we found one of them to be a useful addition with the smaller size of the double bed). The lack of a shower (although there is a bath and a toilet) at this level is also a bit disappointing. However, those views and the facilities (including the provision of the gas barbecue on the balcony) in the rest of the property make up for any deficiencies in the loft bedroom and bathroom. We would definitely stay here again when in Rangeley. This area is one of the most scenic we have ever been to anywhere in the world and well worth the visit.

Only down side was it is so close to the road...but we got over that. Besides we were there to ride motorcycles and it was easy access, even with a 28' trailer. The house is very well stocked, we only went out to eat once because it was so easy to Bar B Que and sit on the deck. The view over Dodge Pond provided a wonderful sunset every night.
Great house! Perfectly equipped! Very Clean!

This house has a beautiful view of Dodge Pond. It is equipped with everything you need and then some. We love the location for our annual spring fishing trip.

The cabin was very nice, but when I booked this property I was told it was snowmobile right to the door. There is no trail to this cabin!
I had to truck my sled to go riding, was very disapointing Read more
Response from Morton & Furbish Rental Agency - 01/18/2011
I am SO sorry about the mistake. This property is great for our skiing clientele, but you are correct that it is not ideal to snowmobile from. We only try to market this property to skiing families, and we are not sure how it happened that you were booked in there. We will not let this mistake happen again.
