The quintessential Maine experience! So cozy and peaceful with a

Left on 10/09/2012 for a stay in September 2012

It feels like home! It offers a wonderful cozy feel and open layout that is bright and sunny and open views of the lake. I is well maintained and clean and accommodates a lot of people comfortably. Summer or winter this is the ideal location. The best of water sports and boating along with hiking, mountain biking and wildlife right out your back door! In the winter there is great snowmobiling on groomed trails and Saddleback and Sugarloaf have some of the best downhill skiing in all of New England. Avid hikers and snowshoers alike can find endless place to explore. Or if you just want to lounge and relax you'll find all the amenities... like a beautiful deck, docks on the water, floats, a paddle boat, hammocks, outdoor fire pit, and a big grassy lawn right down to the water!
If I could own a place in Maine it would surely be this one!!!

Angel Falls view of the lake!

Beautiful setting but, household amenities greatly lacked.

Left on 09/06/2012 for a stay in August 2012

This property has a nice setting however, there were issues with what the house had to offer (or lack there of). First off the furniture in the main living room was old, rundown, and had a grungy feel to it. Not the cleanest rental we've been to. Also, the kitchen greatly lacked decent cooking pans, and not a clean or working can opener to be found. Cheap mish mash of other utensils made cooking a challenge at best. Outside, the dock had boards that were soft and spongey which one eventually gave way when stepped on. We had to get someone out to repair it. Overall, we felt uncomfortale with the interior space with regards to the kitchen and the grungy feel of carpet and furniture.

Highs and lows at Davis Camp

Left on 08/06/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Once again, staff was welcoming and check in was a snap. My family has been coming to Rangeley for about 20-25 years, so we have rented more than several properties in the area over that span of time. We have found that the rental fees have skyrocketed in the last few years and at some properties the amenities are certainly lacking. At Davis this year there was not a sharp knife, enough cooking utensils, pots or a functioning can opener. My husband and I were also taken aback with the inclusion of a housekeeping tip envelope. I know that you must engage a cleaning staff to clear out and clean up after rental people, but isn't that considered their job? It is not like they come every day to clean up, make beds, empty garbage etc. The renters assume those responsibilities when they contract to rent the property. We were also suprised at the closing and sale of many businesses in town. On a positive note, we love Rangeley as do our children and now our grandchildren. Davis was a great camp, with many outdoor amentities for the grown ups and children alike. It is truly a bit of Paradise on earth! See you next year. Kath and Len Selezan

The Davis property was everything we were looking for and more. You couldn't ask for a better location. Very easy to get to yet plenty of privacy. The cabin was very nice clean and comfortable. The views were beautiful on this wonderful small lake. My only complaint was that we didn't stay long enough

    So peaceful

Left on 09/22/2011 for a stay in August 2011

A wonderful place to relax together as a family before the start of the new school year. The Davis cabin was fabulous, with everything we could possibly need. The kids loved the water trampoline and were in the lake constantly, even though it was on the chilly side. Awesome sunrises. Great lake for canoeing. Rangeley was charming, with some good restaurants. Lots of challenging hiking nearby. Had Internet, but no cell phone service at the cabin. Didn't want to leave, but got home just in time for Irene . . .

Beautiful location with all the comfort of home

Left on 09/27/2010 for a stay in September 2010

Absolutely wonderful place that was comfortable and had all the amenities (wireless internet was great). We loved the canoe/kayak at the house and used them quite frequently. Even our young one had a blast with some of the house toys.

Only con was that since the place is on a well water system, the water had a bit of an after taste - not that big of a deal though.

The house is very out of the way and in such a beautiful location that it was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had. We would definitely stay here again.

Several maintainance issues but other than those it was a wonderful, comfortable, clean and welcoming place. I would recommend to anyone who wants to be out of range (even though there is wireless there) and relax with wonderful wildlife in the neighborhood. The water was colder than we expected.

Awesome camp, but no walk in to lake for Children

Left on 09/09/2010 for a stay in July 2010

This is a beautiful camp with all the amenties. A nice quiet location with a nice yard overlooking Long Pond. The only problem with this camp is if you have small children (toddler age). There is no easy walk in to the Lake. Also, at check in Mortin & Furbish gave us the wrong key to the camp. That being said, they quickly rectified the situation.
