Overall we really enjoyed our last week in Rapallo (our 4th week in Italy.) It was a lot noisier than our location in Chiavari. Scooters, cars and trucks just outside. The owners were wonderful. They live in Milan, but greeted us the day we arrived and walked us into town showing us places to eat and buy food. They provided daily maid service and gave us their phone numbers in the event we had any issues or questions. A bottle of Prosecco in the fridge was a nice touch as were the coffee, tea and snacks.
The location is the selling point. The walk into town was only a few minutes and we were within driving distance of a lot of beautiful sea towns. Fantastic eating and shopping for food to prepare in the apartment. The kitchen was basic, but very usable.
The surrounding area is beautiful and very walkable.

We thoroghly enjoyed our experience in Rapallo. The owners were so helpful and friendly. The location was perfect. Walking distance to the markets, grocery stores, ferry, and train station. Best of all was the view and the terrace where we spent most evenings outside eating and visiting.
The terrace was perfect. All of our socializing was done on the terrace. The location would come in as a second favorite. The house was so well equipped that we didn't need anything that was suggested on the packing checklist.
The town of Rappalo is so charming. It lacks the volume of tourists in nearby areas. We could walk to the train and ferry locations and depart to enjoy everything around yet still feel like we were living like locals.

This was our 3rd stay at the property in Rapallo in the past 7 years. We gave our 4 children a choice of anywhere in the world to visit, and they unanimously picked Rapallo to go back to for a family vacation. We had another fantastic trip, where we enjoyed the ability to cook, swim in the sea, sail, shop and enjoy a relaxed time. The proximity to the Cinque Terre, Genoa, Milan, Florence and Viareggio allowed everyone to do what they most wanted - whether it was shop or hang in the water. Fantastic!
The balcony and it's view over the bay and marina are unique and utterly wonderful. We loved watching the boats go out early in the day and return at the end of the day. We also loved looking at the house when we were going out on the sea for the day, and coming in from sailing at the end of the day!
The property is beautiful, but it is very hot in the middle of the summer. The addition of air conditioning in the Master Bedroom, which cools all three bedrooms in that wing of the apartment really improved the property and allowed everyone to sleep more comfortably.
Rapallo doesn't have the many overseas tourists that other parts of Italy have in the summer, so the atmosphere in the town is very natural and festive in the summer for the people of the area. The fireworks show on July 3rd was absolutely spectacular! ... more impressive than on the national mall in DC, if you can imagine.

Plenty of space and great location with everything within walking distance.
The noise. Also, although it had the old world charm parts of the villa, it needs a makeover, as it's getting rather tired. It needs proper sun lounges for the deck. There were unpleasant drain smells from the bathroom near the kitchen.

We had a splendid time in Rapallo. We would highly recommend the apartment and hope one day our family will enjoy time there together again. It was terrific to have my family together for an Italian experience, culminating in the week at the villa in Rapallo.
The apartment was very comfortable and we enjoyed many meals on the terrace. The ease of walking across the road to the water for a swim or a few minutes into the city centre to stock up on supplies for the Italian cuisine we were going to prepare at the apartment was a treat.

We had a great experience. The apartment is very well located close to lots of restaurants, the train, and it had a great views of the bay. We loved sitting on the balcony watching the "people parade" in the evening.
The location was great although parking was tough. We took the train several days which was nice. The owners met us and it was great that they spoke English and could explain everything to us. They were very helpful and left us lots of information about where to eat, grocery stores, etc.
It is noisy at night until very late if you have the windows open. It was very cool so we did not try the AC. That might have cut down on the noise but it's only in the master bed room. The other bedrooms do not have AC.
Rapallo is very beautiful and well situated to explore the coast. You can take the ferries to Portofino, Santa Margarita and the Cinque Terra or the train to Genoa. We really enjoyed Genoa as the owners encouraged us to go there since Americans do not know much of the city. It is Beautiful. We used the guide that they recommended and she was great.

We had a fabulous week, everyday was fantastic. We were able to use Captain Piero and Alessandra's yacht, which was a great day with loads of information about the area. We also went to Florence for the day with Piero.
The location and just the whole Italian experience. We could live that life style!
Not really anything.
So many things to see and do. We needed much more than one week.

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! We can't wait to go back.
This was an absolutely beautiful villa. The online pictures don't do it justice. The view was equally amazing. The property owners were very friendly and helpful.
The area is very noisy at night. There's not much to be done about this. Next time we would take earplugs.
Rapallo and the neighboring coastal towns, such as Santa Margherita and Portofino, are so picturesque. We enjoyed the architecture, shopping and fabulous food. Also, we found people to be very friendly here, as well as patient with our less than great mastery of the Italian language.

It is a beautiful property in a great location, and the owners are very nice people who were gracious and helpful. The addition of the yacht was fantastic and Piero and Alessandra couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. In regard to the villa, the terrace and balconies of the villa were also wonderful for having a glass of wine and watching the world go by.
It needs air conditioning which would also reduce the noise level. It could use more accessories - for example, it had no wine glasses so we bought some and left them for the owners and future guests. The common entrance area could use a cleaning as could the common steps.
Everything - the yacht allowed us to see areas at a leisurely pace with excellent company and food. Walking around Rapallo was also very nice.

We were in total agreement with the previous comments about this beautiful property -- I still long to be having my morning coffee on the wonderful terrace and watching Rapallo awaken.
It was a perfect location for strolling the old town and promenade and had a nicely appointed living area. Our group members that chose to use the yacht loved our excursions to Portofino, Cinque Terre and just cruising the coast. Having Piero play his guitar delighted not only us, but some Italian friends who joined us for one day. The young set also loved the aquarium in Genoa. We appreciated all the help and recommendations from our hosts and Piero and his wife!
Again, only negatives were the night noises, some heat, and some mosquito action.
Fairly easy day trips to Lucca and Pisa and another day to Genoa where we were pleasantly surprised to discover, through a recommended tour guide, one of the most interesting cities in Italy!

Its location. its authenticity, an original Italian villa.
Lack of fly screens We know, its a European thing. It would have made a huge difference, because we couldn't sleep with the windows open. Age of electrical appliances. things like kettle and toaster were useless and television was very old and remote wouldn't work. Rapallo is a summer resort town. We arrived in early October and it rained most of the time. It would have been helpful if the owners included a few English and perhaps other language videos and a few better reading lights in the lounge room.
Cafes, shops, friendly people, the surrounding towns and waterways and of course the Cinque Terre.
Just a wonderful experience.. The owners were very helpful and nice. If you are driving a car, make arrangements ahead of time for parking. The owners can make those arrangements.
The boat captain and his wife took us all along the coastal area and the views were beatiful..The food on the boat was great and Piero and Alessandra fixed dinner several times at night. Wow what a experience! If you want to experience how real Italians live this is the place for you. The villa is very nice and comfortable and views could not be better.
Noise at night time but really this is part of the beauty of the location..

It was a great location right across from the beach with a beautiful, large terrace for watching everything going on as well as enjoying the beautiful view. The property is in a great location -- both in terms of being right on the edge of town and in terms of lots of great day trips nearby. The apartment was beautiful and spacious and the owners and skipper and his family were very nice and accommodating. When we were there the seas were too rough to go out most days and the skipper and his wife offered to take us on some local hikes, instead.
It was very noisy at night in the master bedroom and especially in the kids' bedroom. It was much quieter if we closed the windows, but we wanted the sea breeze to keep things cool. Also, I thought the tender was too small -- it may be because we had rough weather, which I think was unusual, but it wasn't very easy to get on and off the boat when using the tender.
Great access to the Cinque Terre and lots of beautiful towns.

The apartment is extremely large by European standards. More than worth the price of admission!
The apartment was spacious and comfortable, and felt like home away from home. The location was exceptional and the view was beautiful, inspiring and tranquil. It had everything necessary for total enjoyment without compromise.
The coffee pot was small.
The surrounding area consisted of mountains tumbling into seashore, unlimited vistas and easy access by train and bus.

The property was more than fine, especially the boat where we spent most of our time.
The location which was glorious as well as the property owners who acted more like hosts than landlords. We thought they were wonderful and spent a day as well as a meal with them. The apartment itself has a fantastic view of the boardwalk frontage and the harbor with a nice square in front with a fountain.
The noise level, which in the cities in Italy honestly cannot be helped, althought the source of the noise here is the fountain and the people who congregate there.
We spent most of our time on a boat out front with Pero and Alessandra who own and run the boat.
