This Cottage is a quaint two storey "A-Frame" which constitutes part of the Avaro House complex. It has one double bedroom opening out to a balcony with a view through the palm trees to the ocean. The second bedroom has two single beds. Toilet and wash basin upstairs with a second toilet and shower room downstairs.
Full kitchen with gas stove, oven and fridge freezer. Comfortable lounge seating and a flat screen TV. Wifi access. The lounge area links to a small deck with views to the reef and beyond.

A reefside location on stunning coral beach within the Rarotongan fringe reef. Great for shell collectors! The property is located off the Ara Tapu (main coastal road) in Tupapa in the Vaka district)of Te Au O Tonga, just four minutes drive from the main town of Avarua. Local buses stop nearby and a main supermarket is a short stroll away.

255106Little Gem of a Cottage

We spent a week staying in the cottage and it was just great, so much more freedom that staying in a hotel complex.
On the ground floor there is a bathroom with shower, a laundry and a fully equipped kitchen that we used all the time, with a lounge come dining room.
Upstairs there is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom with a 2nd toilet. The master bedroom has a balcony off it which affords great views out through the trees to the reef.
The cottage shares a bbq and great cold swimming pool with the main house and these were used constantly by us all.
The property is a 2 minute walk to a 24 hours supermarket, 1 minute walk to the bus going into town (Anti clockwise bus) , or if you want to take the clockwise bus, just stand at the front of the property and wave it down when it comes past.
I would recommend asking Tony to book you the Highland Paradise Tour. It's a great Cultral evening with a feast and show - They pick you up and drop you back at the property and if Tony books it you will get a discount :)Response from Tony Heays - 08/24/2012

We loved our stay at avaro, we were originally staying at a hotel but decided we wanted something a little more private and self contained so we could make use of the kitchen and of the local produce. We especially love the shared pool and decking area, it is fantastic! The only thing that was a little bothersome was that the cottage got very hot during the day and we needed extra fans to cool it down.
We would definitely recommend avaro cottage and house for couples, groups or families! We will be staying there again for sure.Response from Tony Heays - 04/28/2012

Avaro Cottage was exactly what we wanted when we visited Rarotonga in Late January.
The units location and close proximity to the sea was picture post card material. This short visit was for much needed R & R and our wedding anniversary and we will definitely be back in the very near future.
Located approximately 30 minutes walk into town the unit is situated on the northern coast with very friendly neibours and SB Super Brown Fuel Pump and Super Market 1 minute away across the road.Response from Tony Heays - 08/24/2012
