Two Bedroom First Floor Apartment Ravello

Castiglione 1 is a delightful apartment in a wonderful position between the sea and the pretty town of Ravello perched loftily on the hillside. The apartment itself is comfortably furnished and has a large panoramic terrace, furnished with table and chairs, which overlooks an amazing view of the clear blue sea.

Castiglione 1 is the lower level of a little detached villa, built cleverly into the terraced land of the hillside so typical of this area. Spacious and airy the apartment is furnished in a fresh and comfortable Mediterranean style. Its living room has a sitting area with sette...e, armchair, dining table and chairs, there is a separate fully equipped kitchen, two double bedrooms and a bathroom with bathtub. The living room and both the bedrooms open onto the apartments large terrace, which is furnished with sun umbrella, sun loungers, table and chairs and enjoys spectacular sea views, creating the perfect spot to relax, or dine al fresco whilst watching the sun setting on the horizon.

The picturesque little bay of Castilglione di Ravello with its pretty little beach, is just 600m away and reachable via steps. The town of Amalfi, originally a fishing village, now a well known jewel of the coastline is close by and Ravello a town that inspired writers and composers such as Goethe and Wagner, as well as stars of Italian cinema who were all awed with its beauty is just 3.5km away. Both towns have a selection of shops, restaurants and bars as well as a local bus service.

This wonderful area is easily explored by car or local transport. From Amalfi (1.2km) there are buses to many beautiful towns such as Positano and Sorrento, as well ferry services to the islands. Further afield and well worth a visit are the archeological sites of Pompeii and Ercolano, at the feet of the volcano Vesuvius.

The middle level of the villa consists of a further 2 bedroom apartment (Castiglione 2) therefore the two apartments taken together can sleep larger parties of up to 10 persons. In the upper level of the villa reside the owners. The villa is built on the hillside on terraced land so each level is set back from the other.

There is one private parking space (suitable for small to medium size car only) for the use of both apartments. Use of this should be requested at time of booking and is payable locally. Further street parking is available close by.

Note: There are steps in the surrounding area and to access the seafront on foot. Therefore this property may not be suitable for persons with walking difficulties.

  We had a wonderful week here at Villa Castiligone (me and my 17 year old son) and the only reason I haven't put 5 stars is because I wasn't expecting the traffic noise from the busy road to Ravello :o( I had chosen the property so we could relax on the fabulous terrace with a book and a drink during the day, but the noise intrudes into that quite a bit. But its a lovely, lovely villa and the owners are so friendly and nice and helpful... you have everything you need and its also very close to the bus stops and the steps (all 358 of them!) down to the beach are right opposite the house. Its a stunning part of the coast and a little less hectic than further along towards Positano so a great spot. Takes about half an hour to walk to amalfi for ferries and heaps of tourist tat!
