Moscow, RussiaA dream came true
Left on 12/17/2012 for a stay in August 2012
I remarked the announce of this unique, fantastic place two years ago and absolutely wanted to go there, but the villa was totally booked up. This year I sent my demand well in advance, and my dream came true. Even we were aware that we are going to a very special place, the reality exceeded all our expectations. It was so wonderful, nearly unbelievable.
Rocky coast, secluded cove, the house right above the sea with a large terrace, flowers and the steps leading directly to the private beach. Amazing bedroom at the lower floor - just above the water, it's so nice to fall asleep on the lapping of the sea. Calm, rest and almost total privacy. In the same time Minory - ancient town with a beautiful lively promenade, shops, restaurants etc - is only in 10 minutes of walk from there. The description presented on the site is absolutely exact. The villa is very cozy, clean, comfortably furnished and very well equipped, the place is really charming. The stairs are specific of the coast, we were ready for it. The platforms bellow are large enough and exposed to the sun all day long, up to 5-6p.m. The depth is about 10 meters, so the water is always crystal. The beach is shared between three villas, but it wasn't disturbing at all and not to be compared with usual crowded beaches; quite often we were alone to enjoy sun and sea.
The owners are very nice and friendly people. We would like to thank them for very warm welcome, for their kindness and help during our stay. We had chance to spend two unforgettable fabulous weeks at this magnificent place, thank you so much! And many thanks also to Franco. -

This is a fantastic location. Tops the many other places we have stayed on the amalfi Coast, It is dramatic, beautiful and all about location. But be warned. You need to be in fairly good shape. There are 150 steps to the apartment and 75 more steps to the water. This place is about the view the quiet and water activities.

Delightful apartment with wonderful views over the sea and coastline. Very relaxing. Safe swimming in the sea and easy to hire boat.Every convenience and beautifully decorated. Parking is a little difficult and it is over 160 steps to get from the road down to the villa, so you need to be reasonably fit.

Sacramento, CaliforniaLove it, love it, love it!!
Left on 10/25/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We had a most relaxing week in September 2012 at the La Casetta de Marmorata. The villa is located on the Mediterranean and is a very private, beautiful setting on the rocky landscape. Just be aware that to enjoy this very private setting requires walking up and down over 100 steep steps, but a great workout and well worth the effort. Keep in mind you probably don’t want to bring more than one piece of luggage.
The size of the rental is well suited for two couples. The two bedrooms were spacious, with a sitting chair in each bedroom and are located on opposite sides of the villa, ensuring privacy. The bedroom windows open to the sound of the sea to lull you to sleep. There are two bathrooms, both with showers.
The kitchen was fully equipped with dishwasher, dishes, pots and pans, etc. We had a short walk into town for groceries. The patio was very spacious with two lounge chairs and a patio table with four chairs. The villa has an outdoor grill and a private beach area (again, steep steps but worth the walk).
The living room was very tastefully decorated and comfortable with sofa, chair and TV.
The villa did have a washer but it didn’t work very well. There is a clothesline for hand washing and the clothes dry very quickly.
Franco was wonderful! He acknowledged all our emails concerning any questions, right up until time of departure. He assisted in getting our luggage down the steps to the villa, booking boat trips and restaurant recommendations. Franco was always available with questions we had during our week stay. His familiarity with the surrounding area was invaluable. -

My family and I loved this place. The view and location was fantastic. We really enjoyed the local town of minori - but be prepared for the couple of hundred stairs at each end of your walk. We basically lived on the beautiful big balcony and enjoyed the view. The fitout of the house was great and Franco was very welcoming. The swimming platform was a highlight and we used it every day. Only down side for me was the beds were quite hard.

Sydney-AustraliaA vista and location to get excited about
Left on 10/16/2012 for a stay in October 2012
This apartment was an absolute delight. It was large enough o accommodate 4 single friends and had a huge outside covered terrace where we spent the majority of our time. The apartment was clean and well appointed. The kitchen was fully functional.
The only downside was he beds. They were very small and exceptionally hard. I had to lift mine onto the floor...
He other downside was the washing machine which we were not able to work effectively and ended up hand washing for the week.
We were supplied with bath towels and beach towels.
The view was just amazing from both bedrooms and we could hear the sea lapping onto the rocks all night.
The stairs which led down from the street were many and would be challenging for elderly or people of not great fitness. Consider the size of our bag!!!
Minori is a beautiful location and I would highly recommend this apartment. The staff were very helpful and supportive.

This is a gorgeous house set into the rock with a massive terrace hanging over the sea. All possible amenities, including a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms and washing machine. We had a beautiful bedroom with arched windows looking out to the sea, felt like a movie set, i have never slept so well. The house stays amazingly cool throughout the hot afternoon. The private sea access is shared with the other property on the slope, but there is enough room for everyone and it's great not to be on a crowded beach. The house is comfortable and tasteful, a great find. You should note that there are 150 steps from the road to the house; not a good idea to forget things on your way out. Also the sea access is at depth, so kids need supervising

Just got back from the amalfi Coast and living in the most perfect setting on the Med. La Casetta di Marmorata is just wonderful. The villa is quite magnificent, built into the rocks just above Minori and offering all the amenities one would ever need for an amazing holiday by the sea.
The bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen facilities were second to none with added bonus of washing machine, dishwasher and private terrace and direct access to the sea.
Roberta has a wonderful place here and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The icing on the cake was being looked after by the wonderful Franco who guided us through our week on the amalfi Coast helping us book boat trips, charter little boats to spend the day in and out of the sea in the marvelous sunshine and with great recommendations for sightseeing and delicious dining. We love Franco.
Thanks to all for a blissful week in the sun.

Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012
An amazing and wonderful experience from the moment we booked the time until the moment we left.
The property itself is gorgeous, nestled in the lemon grove cliffs overlooking the sea. While it is fairly small, with two bedrooms, two baths, a sitting area and kitchen, it seems huge because of the fabulous veranda on which we spent the majority of our time! We were impressed with how well appointed the villa was as well. They seems to have thought of just about anything we might need. The swim platform on the sea was such a special treat as not all accommodations along the coast have similar arrangements! We felt so lucky!
Franco, the property manager could not have been more accommodating as well. From picking us up, to recommending places to go, helping us rent a boat for the day, and even finding a fishing rod so we could try to catch dinner. He was fabulous!
I would highly recommend this spot and look forward to the chance to go back! -

Wilmington, DelawareA truly authentic Italian experience!
Left on 07/04/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We just got back from the amalfi Coast and what an amazing time we had. First, let me preface all my comments by saying that when we travel we are looking for a truly authentic experience. We like to live like the locals. The villa certainly provided that. If you are used to staying in a luxury hotel room be advised. The villa is very rustic and has very few amenities. For example, a 17" television with 5-6 channels all in Italian. But then again it is the amalfi Coast, why would you want to stay inside? One day you might have an ant problem the next might be finding a lizard in your bedroom. Don't worry, they are small and more scared of you. Whatever the case, Franco and the management did whatever was necessary to correct the problem almost immediately.
The main reasons why this is an extraordinary property is its location and access to the water. The villa has a covered patio that provides jaw-dropping views. You literally can sit out all day and watch the world (Italian style) pass you by. There are about 50 steps down to the bathing/boat dock, which was unbelievable. You can swim right from the dock, the water is clear, fish are everywhere. You can even pick your own mussels and have them with pasta for lunch or dinner. Do not under estimate the value of having direct sea access from your villa. This alone made the property worth the money. The majority of villas in the area don't offer this luxury, therefore, you have to visit the local beaches which can be a hassle, crowded, and time consuming. That being said, if you have small children you need to keep an eye on them. The bathing platform is narrow and has a five-foot drop into the water. And the water is at least 15-20 feet deep right from the edge. If they accidentally fall in they better know how to swim. Still, we brought our two children (ages 6 and 4) and they had a blast! Franco provided a life vest and beach toys for the youngest and that kept him happy.
The walk into town was relatively easy after you conquered the steps to the main road. It probably takes about 10 mins or so. Everything you could possibly want or need is within easy reach. One tip I have is related to a rental car. We were trying to decide whether to get one or not. We decided against it and I'm glad we did. The driving wasn't really the issue as much as the parking is. In Minori and many of the surrounding towns there is nowhere to park your car. If you are staying in the area for your entire trip you might want to forget about the rental car. We used Franco as our personal driver the whole trip and it still was much less than getting a rental car. He picked us up from the airport, dropped us off there when we were leaving, took us to Pompeii, to Ravello, Amalfi, and to Maori. I didn't have to worry about driving, parking, directions, etc. and I still saved money. Another tip, definitely hire a private boat for a day. It is worth the money! Final tip, there is ferry service from the dock in Minori once a day in the morning (sometime between 8-9). This is a question I had before arriving and I have noticed others asking the same question. Information for ferry services in this area is a bit vague on the Internet. This can get you to other towns on the coast or to Capri. I hope this helps. We can't wait to return to this beautiful area and wonderful villa. -

NewZealandBest place on the coast
Left on 06/02/2012 for a stay in April 2012
The amalfi Coast is tourist mecca but this little place, tucked away off the road, was our beautiful peaceful retreat. Fab place, especially the terrace which actually makes this place (not sure what the villa would be like in poor weather as it is small), as the view is great, right on the water and plenty of space. Fantastic to be able to swim off the bathing areas at waters edge, not much fishing for the kids tho!
Inside, everything we needed was provided, and having two bathrooms was handy and would be great for two couples sharing the place. There are quite a lot of steps to access the villa but not a problem really and its lovely to wander through the garden to reach it. Car parking up by the road might be a bit of a task for some, depending on what you are used to but nothing can prepare you for the driving on the coast!
An easy walk into the nearest town, which had a small supermarket, plenty of cafes and restaurants and a great little market to browse in. This was also one of the least touristee towns along the coast, more of a local feel to it.
Overall, a great little spot, would love to go back sometime. -

Left on 11/01/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We were fortunate to stay in Casetta Di Marmorata for a week, the weather was hot, but even so we always seemed to have a gentle breeze. Franco did a great job on greeting and helping us settle in, nothing was too difficult. The view from the bedroom and balcony off the ground floor level was just magnificent, we could sit all day and watch the world literally go by if we wanted to. The walk down the stairs to the apartment is through lemon groves and gardens, the walk from the apartment to the bathing platform is about a minute. This is a very restful, quiet, idyillic place, very comfortable and nicely presented. We were lucky to meet the owner and his family and although our Italian was very poor, we still managed to communicate; delightful people! We found the location was perfect to catch buses as required and the town of Minori is about a 5 minute walk away. Minori is basically unspoilt compared to almalfi, Maiori and Positano, never overcrowded and you can mix with the locals who are very friendly and helpful. The restaurants, pastries, coffee and my wife's favourite Gelato were just 5 minutes away. We would stay here again without a second thought. Make sure you see Ravello and sample the local limoncello on the balcony by night. This is a must-I seem to have aquired a taste for it!

Left on 10/12/2011 for a stay in September 2011
My fiancee and I recently stayed at the villa and can not speak highly enough of the property itself and our host.
Franco was our contact and he kindly assisted in picking us up from the bus stop in town and helping us down the stairs with our luggage. The recommendation he provided for dinner in town was also great - we ended up eating there twice!
The property had the most amazing view and everything you could need for a stay - even a blow up lounge to go swimming with.
There are quite a few stairs though to navigate and the walk along the coast road into town can be, umm, interesting (!) so I probably would not recommend unless you are reasonably healthy and fit.But it is all worth it in my opinion to stay somewhere truly special.
Thankyou!! -

The outlook from this property is complemented by its quietness and its spaciousness. The layout was perfect for the four of us (two couples), with two well appointed and roomy bedrooms being located at opposite ends of the villa. The living room was for the most part redundant as we spen most of the time on the large covered patio overlooking the sea. Our on-site manager (Franco) could not have been more helpful with both the check-in and the management of our luggage. The complimentary bottle of wine was also a nice touch.

This is our third visit and it was as good as before. The location is perfect. We don't usually come in august and it was a little hot for some of the time. However I wouldn't say that the lack of air conditioning was a signficant issue.
Access to the sea and some lovely places to visit are very strong elements. We also particularly like the local small seaside town of Minori. It is not to commercialised and a pleasant relief from some of the more crowded place.
The owners and their family are very welcoming and hospitable. -

Left on 08/25/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We absolutely adore this place and we considered not writing a review in order to protect availability for our next holiday here (we've been three times now)! But felt that was a bit mean. My husband and I got engaged in Minori last year when we were staying at another of Ravello accommodation's appartments (in Minori's town centre, also very nice)- my husband tells me that the team helped him with all his proposal plans (including planting a bottle champers in the fridge!). They really are the most welcoming, helpful and efficient hosts (our dealings have been with Roberta). Mr Franco (their rep) is wonderful - nothing is too much trouble and he knows all the right people - he hired us a boat for a trip to Capri, borrowed some fishing rods from the owners so we could catch and cook our supper and arrived with jump leads when our car broke down on departure day. The owners have also been very kind to us in sending over a local bottle of wine and homegrown figs & lemons. The situation of the place is superb - amazing views, lovely shaded terrace, great little sunbathing ledge cut into the rocks for sunbathing and swimming. There are 70(ish) steps from the road to the appartment so not for the fainthearted...I would avoid going in august - area so busy and very hot! Spring is my favourite time - cool enough to visit the local sites - Ravello is a must. The appartment itself has always been very clean and comfortable (quality bed linen and pillows/duvets). We're not normally ones to repeat holidays as there's so much to see in the world and so little time, but we hold great affection for La Casetta di Marmorata and will return often.

My family of four arrived after a cruise on a ship and were delighted to stay in the beautiful villa on the sea. We were met by the caretaker, Franco, who gave us ideas on how to spend the days. The villa is comfortable and spacious and gorgeous views from every window. We took Franco's advise and had a boat delivered to our deck everyday and spent the days on the Mediterranean sea. In the afternoon, we would drive the amalfi Coast (my husband was so excited about this) to different towns and eateries and had a splendid time. Ravello is one town not to be missed. We can't wait to return and would come back to this particular villa in a heartbeat! Thank you for a spectacular vacation!

Left on 07/14/2011 for a stay in May 2011
This is an amazingly beautiful spot, perfect for a couple or small family (we have a 3 1/2 year old and and 10 month old). As with most places on the water along the amalfi Coast, it's perched on the side of the Coast and requires a serious hike down lots of stairs to get from the car park (parking off the coastal road is its own adventure, of course) down to the villa, but a) the owners made sure we had assistance with bags upon arrival, and b) even with small children it was completely manageable and made for some good wandering through the growing lemon trees and gardens with them later. You are rewarded for the walk (the villa is at the very bottom of the stairs) with a lovely and private little two-level apartment almost on the water that feels almost as if you are on a boat. The owners went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed, even bringing us toys for the kids to play with while we were there and helping us to manage a babysitter so we could attend a wedding. If you're looking for a quiet escape where you can spend a good deal of time without having to be out at restaurants or at the beach every day/ night, this is perfect. The beach in nearby Minori is great and perfect for kids, as is the Pontile restaurant there (we're from NYC, and this place was really exceptional- worth traveling for). Do not hesitate to book this place if it's open- fabulous!

Neat, clean, comfortable accommodation for two couples, not spacious but adequately furnished and equipped for our 4-night stay. A wonderful view from the patio and easy access down a few stairs to a private sunbathing and swimming platform shared with two other houses. On the several times that we used that area we had it to ourselves. There are 176 steps down from the parking garage to the house so access is a little inconvenient, particularly when carrying heavy luggage in and out. Having said that, 3 of our party are well into our 60's (although reasonably fit) and we managed OK. The location is just a few minutes drive from the nearest town, Minori where there are numerous small food shops but a few minutes further on is Maiori where we found a couple of small supermarkets. Probably best to allow at least three full days to explore the amalfi coast although a few more nights wouldn't go astray, particularly if you want to stay around the house a bit and take advantage of the swimming area. We visited Pompei, which took the best part of one day and found the 2 remaining days much too little time to both properly explore the coast and enjoy the house. Amalfi is not far from the house and we found it very pleasant to spend some time there on a couple of evenings sitting in the piazza outside the cathedral. The road along the coast is narrow, barely wide enough in parts for two vehicles, particularly when one is a bus or truck, the traffic is heavy and many of the drivers are erratic if not suicidal. The garage is right on the road, on a bend, and you need someone out on the road keeping an eye out for approaching traffic in order to drive safely out onto the road. If you aren't a competent and confident driver you're not going to feel comfortable driving on that road. We saw quite a few people walking along the side of the road but you'd really need to keep alert to the road conditions and traffic. If we go back we would consider staying at this house again.

The Villa is amazing. The View, the peaceful sounds of the water, the gardens, the location, and so much more. We stayed a week and had the best time. It's only a short walk to Minori (a little village we fell in love with) where you can find great eats and produce. Some days we cooked and others days we went out; ask Franco to set up the BBQ and you can grill as well!
We decided not to rent a car (they have a carport if needed) instead we walked and used pubic transportation. The buses or ferries will take you where you need to go, no worries.
One more thing...the villa itself is very comfortable and has everything you need, rent it, I am pretty sure you will love it!

It will be in our memories forever!

I will say it again, wow! This mini villa is a slice of heaven located along the amalfi Coast. My friend and I enjoyed a week of bliss at the villa, relaxing on the patio, cooking up great meals with the local fresh foods, making friends with the locals and so much more. The villa itself is immaculate and very comfortable. Franco, who picked us up at the airport was very nice and a wealth of information. The villa is located on the cliffs below Ravello and between amalfi and Minori. We spent most of our time making friends in Minori as it is a short walk into the little village, but we also enjoyed amalfi, though it is very busy even in the shoulder season.
We highly recomend this quaint little villa, it's centrally located and you do not need a car, the buses and ferries will take you where you need to go and trust me you really do not want to drive. Make sure you are in somewhat of good shape because there are about 150 steps you climb daily and if you are not in shape...well, you will leave a little lighter even with eating all the great Italian food. We plan on coming back again! -

We stayed only for a weekend and we wished we could stay longer because the place is truly exceptional. We drove up to Costiera amalfitana by car. The flat Casetta Marmorata is located within walking distance from the lovely village of Minori. (Don't forget to eat the delicious "delizia de limoni" in a pastry shop in the centre). We could easily park the car at their private parking reserved for the guests, but we wouldn't go there with a big car because in general the streets of the villages in amalfi Coast are very narrow. From the street above is pretty impossible to see the flat because it's hidden downhill towards the sea in a fascinating mediterranean garden full of lemon trees, flowers, climbers ... When we reached the flat it was like finding a small paradise outside the ordinary world. There is a terrace with breathtaking view of the sea and coast. The sound of the sea waves just below the bedroom windows was our lullaby for a perfect sleep. It's like being on a boat. The house itself is really nice with 2 big double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room and kitchen. Beds are very comfortable. A great plus of this accommodation is the direct access to a small rocky platform just at the sea level which can be used as a beach for sun bathing and swimming. Unfortunately when we were there the water was too cold to swim but at least we could enjoy the sun! The flat was immaculate, every room very clean and the kitchen full of useful tools even to make your own fresh squeezed orange juice or an tasty lemonade with the local lemons. The hosts who live in a nearby house are absolutely very nice and helpful. Once they even gave us a lift to a nearby village :) We will certainly come back and we recommend this amazing place for a romantic escape or a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Fantastic 12 days ! The villa is very comfortable and has a great ambiance with a spacious waterfront deck , private access to sea and private parking . You have to be prepared to walk up and down a long set of steps but at the end of it your own paradiso awaits ! Both the landlord and the manager Mr Franco were very helpful and friendly. Mille Grazie !
We are hoping to be back soon !

We travelled Italy for 5 weeks, but nothing could have topped our stay in this magnificent apartment which hung out from the rocks and was only steps from the water. The bedrooms were spacious with amazing views from the windows. We swam and sat in the sun on the balcony and the sunset and views at night across the water to Maoiri were breathtaking. Only downside was a tiny shower and the 100 odd steps down to the house.

Lovely villa in great location overlooking the sea. Be aware there are a lot of steps to the villa! Ravello restaurants & gardens lovely - many more steps if you're walking! Watch out for the crazy drivers on the coast road...

Our GPS system let us down, but once we found our "little house on the sea" we thought we were in Paradise!.
What a beautiful spot.
As we were swimming all day {water was so warm} sharing a shower with 4 adults didn't worry us. We felt we were alone on top of the ocean.
We would like to say a special thank you to Franco who had to wait 2 hours for us to arrive and was then so helpfull to us, also thank you to Victor for the bottle of Ravello wine, unfortunatly we can't get it in australia.
We will be back. -

We spent ten days in this very nice place, clean, with a beautiful garden and an amazing view. The beds are comfortable. Because of a lot of steps, this house is not recommandable for disabled people. Sometimes the sea was not very clean but quite safe, we could even look after children swimming, from the terrace.

My fiancée and 2 of our friends stayed at this beautiful house, which hugs the cliffs directly above the sea around the corner from Minori, a very pretty village which is far less crowded than Amalfi.
The views are spectacular, and you have easy access to a private jetty down by the sea, so you can swim before breakfasting on the balcony overlooking the stunning Amalfi Coast. The flat has two good sized bedrooms, one shower room (with toilet), one other toilet, a sitting room/spare bedroom, and a kitchen/dining room. All are well-supplied with the basics that you will need, although the house is self-catering, so you'll need to climb the 176 steps to the road to get back into Minori for some shopping. There is also a BBQ, and I can't imagine a more stunning setting for cooking your sausages than this!
Our hosts could not have been more helpful, from staying up to welcome us at 1am, to arranging for a small motorboat for us to have an afternoon running up and down the coast to stop and swim in small bays. We also had an hour or so in Amalfi after tying up at the marina there (only €5 for an hour).
I would recommend hiring a small car - the car parking space is not very big, and a small car is far easier to negotiate through the narrow roads that wind along the Amalfi coast.
We plan to come back here every year - it really is a fantastic place. Thanks to Ravello Accommodation! -

Cambridge, EnglandLovely villa on a beautiful coastline

We spent two weeks in Casetta di Marmorata in September 2007 and loved it. The villa itself is well-equipped, clean and nicely decorated and furnished. The double bedroom has a gorgeous window looking out over the sea, with the bathing platform a few metres below. We spent many peaceful hours relaxing on the terrace with a cold drink and a book, with the lovely view in front of us. Unfortunately the sun could be rather strong on the terrace at certain times of the day with no way of escaping the glare.
It was an easy 10 minute walk into the pretty and unspoilt town of Minori, with it's square, good restaurants and friendly shopkeepers. We don't speak Italian, and they (generally) don't speak English so a we had hilarious time buying a sieve (to make coffee!) with descriptive gestures, and eventually sketches and diagrams!
Pompeii is close by and worth visiting, as is Herculaneum ('Ercolano'), another unearthed Roman city. All the Roman treasures are housed in the museum in Naples - also a must-see - but beware the traffic of Naples! -

A very romantic, secluded villa at the bottom of the steps next to the sea. Spectacular views along the coast. We stayed for 1 week in August and loved every moment. The owners were lovely and very helpful. The villa was beautifully clean and the private terrace overlooking the sea was wonderful. No need for a swimming pool when you have beautiful, clear sea 20 steps from the front door. I have 2 young children and they both loved jumping into the sea for a swim every morning. A fantastic place which I cannot recommend enough!

The best location we have stayed in. We love the area and the accomodation and hope to return as soon as circumstances permit.
We also were given a warm welcome.
What we like best was the bedroom hanging over the sea, the veranda and the access to the sea.
What we liked least was the uncomfortable sofa in the kitchen area (but this is a small dislike)
