Villa Principessa is a luxury 3 bedroom villa with pool and semi-private beach, situated in Marmorata, the part of Ravello on the coast, very close to Amalfi town; the location is strategic: infact, even if it's in the area of Ravello, the centre of Amalfi town is at only 1.5 miles far (about 7-8 minutes by car or bus; the bus stop is at few meters from the villa) : Amalfi is the most important town along the coast also in terms of public transportation system, but ferries for Capri and Positano leave also from the charming village of Minori a short walk from the villa (7-8 minutes) where you can find also sandy beaches, shops and restaur...Read more

Oshawa, Ontario, CANADAMulto Bene 30th anniversary vacation w/ 5 family members
Left on 05/08/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We started planning our vacation w/ Amalfi Vacations in Jan/13...from beginning to the end (incl. a 3:30 a.m. transfer to Naples airport)their customer service was impeccable (mostly from Vincenzo, Norma & Franco).Vincenzo even looked after making sure that alitalia airlines had a vegetarian meal for one of our daughters...service above & beyond!
The Villa accommodated our 3 adult couples & 1 single comfortably over the spacious 4 floors & outdoor patio w/ BBQ...
Their associate companies were also very accommodating (especially amalfi Car Service owned by Salvatore), who's drivers & shuttle vans were excellent for our group of 7...
The location & vistas were breath taking & awesome, your near the center of the peninsula & within easy reach of Ravello, Amalfi & Positano (If you go to Positano make sure you have a true home cooked Italian dinner at "La Tagliata" near the top of the hillside)...
Would strongly suggest a boat cruise along the peninsula & to Capri for a great perspective of the peninsula & the towns along the entire coast...good weather is always a bonus & we had temps. of mid-20's during our stay / no rain...
It met & exceeded all our expectations (how's this - not one complaint from any of the kids that should tell you a lot)...
We'd hope to return in the not too distant future!

Villa Principessa is an absolute delight. Perched on the mountainside, with tremendous views, the villa is a little slice of heaven.
I need to warn you upfront - it's not for everyone. The main road through the amalfi Coast is right outside your front door. Cars are mere inches away and they will blow their horns relatively early in the morning. The villa is also spread out over four levels - the kitchen on the lowest level, followed by the living room and then the bedroom floor, with two bedrooms. The fourth level is the attic, which is now a third bedroom. You briefly go outside to access it. There are three and a half baths - but none have a decent sized shower, although that's not unusual for Europe! You can get parking at the villa, but its in a garage down the street. A pretty tight fit and someone has to stand on the road to help you back out.
With all of that out of the way, why would you want to stay here? Because its a gorgeous villa, with decent furnishings, tons of charm and incredible views - with exceptionally friendly and gracious people willing to support you in whatever way you need.
The location and value is hard to beat. The villa is about 800 meters from the town of Minori, down the hill from Ravello. Minori isn't all that special - quaint and lovely, just not a whole lot to see and do. You need a car or driver to see the best of the amalfi Coast but that would be true no matter where you stayed. Positano is only 30 km away - but a hour on the switchback roads. Positano tends to be where a lot of people stay but you'd likely pay double the rate for a place of this size and quality.
The villa has access to a swimming pool at a related hotel down the street. You can also head down to the villa's dock. It took a bit to get down there - winding through a maze of stairways and gates, but eventually you find yourself on a dock/platform right on the water. There aren't many villas that can claim that. The villa also has two lovely terraces - a large garden terrace and a small terrace just outside the attic bedroom.
There were seven of us in total - 4 adults and 3 kids (ages 10 to 17). The villa is large and we had plenty of space. We ate out for lunch and dinner but made our own breakfasts - Minori has a number of "marketos" you can buy food at including some cheese and meat shops.
We had plenty of questions about the area when we where there and the staff were always helpful. They were a cell phone call away and had plenty of tips and suggestions to make the vacation all that much better.
If you want old world charm with plenty of space and good access to the rest of the amalfi Coast, then Villa Principessa could be the vacation villa for you! -

This place is lovely! Views are spectacular, terrace is a wonderful place to waste a day, you can walk down to the sea or up to the swimming pool, and Minori is a few minutes stroll away. The rooms themselves are great places to be - we had several happy evening dinners around the kitchen table, and waking up to views across the sea was wonderful. Vincenzo and Norma were helpful and informative. We had a lovely time.
Ground floor is a small hallway, and an impressive large double height sitting room, with big sofas and a dining table, and a balcony looking over the sea. Downstairs there is a shower room and a big kitchen, with a sofa in the corner and a table for 8-10 people. Outside there are two terraces, and 144 steps take you down from there to the sea. Upstairs two bedrooms and a bathroom, one of them has the most amazing trompe l'oeil decoration. More stairs and a small terrace take you up to a self-contained bedroom with a shower and kitchenette. Below the kitchen is another self-contained studio, which we rented for some of our party, but I guess might be taken separately. A minute's walk to the apartment complex, and then another 130 odd steps up there is a 30 ft swimming pool, with stupendous views across the coast.
The setting is great - views to Minori and Maiori, and the other way towards amalfi. Sitting watching the sun set was superb, especially the day that there were dolphins 100 yards off shore! It's a 5-10 minute walk into Minori for local shops, and you're 5 mins drive from amalfi.
The villa is right on the road, so if you stand by the front door you sometimes feel that the buses are going to drive right inside, but you quickly stop noticing them, and the bedrooms are on the side away from the road.
The wifi works, but the TV has Sky Italia, so very few non-Italian channels, if that matters to you. There is a tumble dryer and a washing machine and a dish washer. If you have a car, you definitely need to rent a parking space, which is 50 feet down the road, and generally to be aware that driving on the narrow road along the amalfi coast isn't for the faint hearted.
Overall, we're looking for an excuse to come back next year! -

The villa was amazing in every way and we would highly recommend to anyone. We had help with luggage and there was someone available to help with anything that you need (restaurants, taxi, etc)
You will get some exercise walking the steps to the pool or sea but it's a beautiful walk and we enjoyed it. The walk to town was about 15 minutes around a windy road. We didn't mind the walk at all though.

We had a fantastic time. There is so much to do in this area... or you can just sit by the pool and enjoy the view! The Villa Principessa was wonderful. It was very large and clean - even though it is 200 years old! There are lots of stairs so it wouldn't be good for small children. There was a beautiful garden with BBQ and tables for dining. There was a cute little patio on the top floor and balconies with the most beautiful views! The access to the pool was across the street - the street is the amalfi coast! It was worth the 3 min. walk though. I highly recommend contacting Vincenzo to arrange a boat rental to take you to Capri and Positanto. He also arrange airport transfers and a driver to Pompei. Norma was wonderful and arrange taxi's to Ravello and Positano. It is cheaper than a normal cab. Walking into Minori was a daily highlight and don't worry, those cars won't hit you! It was a dream vacation. Thank you.

BerkeleyBeautiful, Authentic Villa in Perfect Location
Left on 07/09/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Lovely villa and well appointed for our purposes. We especially liked the large, sunny kitchen with a big view of the mediterranean, and ate at home most days, avoiding 2 hour meals at overpriced restaurants. A short walk into town yields good produce, bread, cheese, cured meats and more, but note that the local shops are closed mid day - I think they are open 8:30 - 12:30 and then again at 4:30 or 5:00 pm.
Like all properties on this coast, whichi s really a cliff and not a coast, you have to walk about 200 steps down to the shore, which includes a lovely bathing platform and beautiful views of the sea and coast. We spent a lot of time by the water and it was divine. Alternatively, you can walk a few steps up the street, and then climb various staircases to access the shared swimming pool which is also divine, and has an expansive view of the coast. Spectacular.
The house itself is beautiful and well appointed but not "super luxury" which was fine for us. Everything was clean, nicely furnished, fresh. The crips cotton/linen sheets and bright white towels were nice in the local heat. The house has character and charm, and a mix of antiques and modern items.
We highly recommend this property and would (hope to) return. The management/owners were very helpful in every way. We recommend hiring a private boat to cruise the coast and visit Capri and the coastal towns. If you are a group, the cost is no more than if you took busses and ferries and it's so much nicer. The villa management recommended a locak boat rental outfit and we hired a beautiful boat and lovely skipper all day. They picked us up and dropped us at our own bathing platform by the sea so it was "turn key" for us and a highlight of the trip.
No reason to hesitate on this property, unless you don't like stairs, in which case neither this house - nor this region - is a good fit for you. The landscape requires that you go up and down stairs, terraces, etc. if you want to experience the sea, the views, the towns. This house is no exception, with steps down to the sea, up to the pool, and lots of stairs within the three story structure itself.
We highly recommend the location, the house itself, the access to private swimming areas at the sea and pool, the warm and attentive management and more. -

Spent a week at Villa Principessa with a group of 8 then included 1 teen and two 20 something's. Villa and it's views are breathtaking. Franco acts as the super/manager. He is incredibly responsive and attentive to your every need. The private beach platform allows incredible access to the sea. Outdoor patio overlooking sea - we cooked and ate outside almost every night. Spectacular views. Walking distance to town of Minori. We walked in and went food shopping daily.

Amazing Villa. Me and 4 friends decided to rent a villa instead of doing the norm. Excellent choice; the villa was 4 levels with a full size kitchen. Extrememly spacious with the most amazing views. If your going to rent a villa in amalfi I recommend Luxury Villa Principessa. Not only is the villa amazing the staff is just as great. You are walking distance from the near by town with great food Our favorite spot to eat was Europa. We decided to rent scooters that was arrange by the staff to visit the close by towns.

Toronto, CanadaMagical spot - a real "wow"
Left on 07/16/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Our family recently spent a magical six days at the Villa Pricipessa. This villa perched on the mountain coast comprised of four stories which included a massive Italian kitchen on the lower level, a wonderful family room on the second level (with internet) and two floors with bedrooms. We had our own private garden with tables, one covered and one not; enchanting. From every vista you had a magnificent view of the ocean. We walked daily to Minori (about 10 minutes) to pick up food and gelato and did an amazing walk uphill to Ravello and back. The kids loved the infiniti pool and we all loved walking down to the private ocean access for a swim. It is more beautiful than the pictures show. We would go back in a heart beat! Judy - Toronto

It's a 400 year old villa, completely renovated, full of charm and beautifully equipped with every comfort. We enjoyed the location, great views with lemon trees, flowers and clear blue sea. The balconies and private terraces had fantastic views and the weather was perfect. We really felt at home and the children especially liked the 'infinity' pool and private access to the sea.
The groceries provided on arrival were a very nice touch and greatly appreciated. It was perfect and exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend this villa to anyone. -

We were on amalfi Coast with our international business partners to show them the beauty of South of Italy. The whole group was astonished by the location of Villa Pincipessa that is surrounded by the nature. It's an idyllic spot where to relax and forget everything. The accommodation is luxurious and equipped with all the comforts. The service was excellent and a special thanks goes to Franco who was very helpful. What makes Villa Principessa unique is the private access to the sea. It was so gorgeous that we went for a swim nothwistanding it was april! It was a great holidays, we definitely wish to come back!

We originally booked this vaca 2 years ago and unfortunately had to postpone it 3 times for various reasons. Amalfi Vacations could not have been more accomodating. When we arrived Franco greeted us and helped get us settled - even meeting us in town and introducing us to all the shop keepers and driving us back up the hill with all our groceries - what service! The house was in great shape, nicely decorated, spotless and with priceless views. My only caution for guests is the many steps - 192 to the sea platform! Certainly worth the climb but don't forget anything on your way down. I would highly recommend amalfi Vacations and the Villa Principessa. We hope to have the chance to work with these wonderful people again.

All of the staff were welcoming and attentive to our needs, including problems with the electricity supply - which were fixed eventually.
