    Additional Location Information

    The Phuket Island Region

PHUKET with its beautiful beaches and idyllic offshore islands, enjoys all year round temperatures of between 26 and 36 degrees, making it ideal for enjoying the many activities 12 months of the year. The rainy season (Summer Season), runs from May until the end of October, with the last 2 months having the most rainfall. However, even in the Summer Season there are still long periods of sunshine each day. The Summer Season is a nice time to visit Phuket as it is quieter, and the weather can still be glorious!

PHUKET – things to do and places to go

GOLFING: Phuket has many first class courses with standards of facilities undreamed of elsewhere. Caddies are provided at all courses, and green fees are surprisingly low.

SAILING: with so many interesting islands offshore, and warm sea temperatures all year round – what sailing enthusiast could resist? Why not try a SUNSET CRUISE?

CANOE ADVENTURES: in Phang Nga Bay, you can have a fabulous Day Trip out, exploring the mysterious landlocked lagoons, hidden away right inside some of the islands in the bay! A Guide will help you navigate your canoe through narrow passages and small caves. A great day out!

BAMBOO RAFTING or WHITE WATER RAFTING - Fabulous adventures

KHAO SOK NATIONAL PARK – a pristine Tropical Rainforest surrounded by stunning limestone Karsts. A good variety of tours available, from a 1 day tour, to a 3 days and 2 nights tour.

ZOO AND AQUARIUM – both the Zoo and Aquarium are interesting and fun trips out. The kids will love the Elephant Show, the Monkey Show and the Crocodile Show!

PHUKET TOWN – is like a mini Bangkok and fascinating. We have detailed a 2 hour Walk which takes you around the Market, Chinese Temples, old colonial-style Mansions, and the heart of the Chinese Quarter. We’ve suggested a good Restaurant for lunch too – up on the hill overlooking Phuket town & out to sea!

PATONG – Patong is famous for its beach with every type of water sports, but possibly more famous for it’s outrageous nightlife! Take a late night stroll through the busy streets and you’re sure to see some of the “beautiful” Lady Boys! Good for shopping too!

TEMPLES – Phuket has many Temples, but the largest and most important is Wat Chalong – only a 15 minute drive away, and well worth a visit. On the way you could also visit the huge Buddha which is in the middle of construction, high up on a hill overlooking almost all of Phuket. It’s quite a sight!

TEMPLE TOUR - We have put together a Tour which takes you to two fascinating Temples in Phang Nga – one is right inside a cave – and the other is set on top of a mountain. It is a full day out, and great fun.

PHUKET FANTASEA – the ultimate Nighttime Entertainment on Phuket Island, which is sure to delight the whole family! A breathtaking Las Vegas-style Theatrical Show, with state-of-the-art Special Effects!

PHUKET IS WELL PLACED FOR VISITS FURTHER AFIELD – with excellent local Airlines, busses and trains:-
    * BANGKOK is definitely on the “must do” list – with endless places to visit, including The Grand Palace, The Floating Market, River Cruises and much more.
    * CHANG MAI in the North, with trips to see the Hill Tribes, and the famous “Golden Triangle” where Thailand, Burma and Laos all meet.
    * ANGKOR WAT in Cambodia – a very interesting and historical site with many Temples.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++
    RAWAI & NAI HAAN
RESTAURANTS – We have many really good Restaurants close by, some within easy walking distance. You will find a list of all our favourites in your Villa. Two of our favourites do an excellent (free) Delivery Service to all our Villas - great for enjoying on your outside Dining Patio - and one or two others do a free "pick up from your Villa" service! We also have many other excellent Restaurants & Bars within easy walking distance.

PROMTHEP CAPE – just a 5 minute drive away, has stunning views, and is a perfect spot to watch the fabulous sunsets.

MASSAGE – Massage Salons and Spas are very popular in Thailand, and a great way to unwind and relax. You can even enjoy a Massage in the privacy of your Villa/Studio.

THE NEARBY BEACHES & ISLANDS –
NAI HAAN BEACH is great for swimming and snorkeling!
RAWAI BEACH is the place to catch a Longtail Boat out to the many offshore islands.
BON ISLAND, CORAL ISLAND & RACHA ISLANDS are all just a short boatrip away – with superb beaches, great snorkeling and lovely beachside Restaurants
PHI PHI ISLAND - Thailand’s “Jewel in the Crown”! These islands are what dreams are made of. Visit beautiful MAYA BAY where “The Beach” was filmed. Make it a mini adventure and stay overnight at one of the Bungalow Resorts right on the beach. You can catch a Ferry from Phuket Town (approx 3 hours), or take a Speedboat from Rawai Beach (approx 30 mins).

KATA, KARON & PATONG BEACHES are much busier than Rawai or Nai Haan, but have lots of exciting Watersports – for instance Jet Skies, Paragliding, Water Ski-ing and Windsurfing.

SHOPPING – there are many small grocery shops and banks etc locally within easy walking distance, or a 20 minute drive will take you to the larger Shopping Malls near Phuket Town, or the fabulous new shopping centre, Jungceylon in Patong.

DIVING AND SNORKELLING: The Andaman Sea has some of the best dive sites in the world, including the prestine SMILIAN ISLANDS. There are many PADI DIVE SCHOOLS nearby, with fees far lower than found in most other countries. We can even arrange a “Free First Lesson” for you to try out this exciting sport!

ELEPHANT RIDING or HORSE RIDING – It’s great fun to visit the elephants and go on a trek up in the mountains near Rawai. The views are great too! Or how about a gallop on horseback along a Beach!

PLUS, nearby we also have Go Carts, Shooting, Atv’s, Gyms and Sports Centres

THAI CUISINE – Thai food is renowned for its quality and diversity – and for being as much a feast for the eyes as for the stomach! COOKERY CLASSES are held locally too, so why not learn how to cook your favourite dish so you can enjoy it back home?

THAI PEOPLE – there are so many good things to be said about Thailand, and the local Thai people are definitely to be included on the list. Always friendly, always smiling – a joy to get to know.

We had a wonderful stay at the villa! This was our second visit to 'Coconut Paradise Villas' which if you know us tells it's own story! We really wouldn't stay anywhere else in Phuket now. Exceptional customer service from our initial booking, to our arrival and all in between! This is how a resort should be run! It really sets the benchmark for others to follow! Thanks Phil and Chris for a memorable stay once again! We will be back...!

Well, we just got back from a 9 night stay here and can only say that it was perfect for our needs. Travelled with my partner and his mother so 2 bedroom/bathroom was ideal. Loved the private swimming pool - went swimming evey day dispite the rain - lovely staff, great information book, helpful owners. Thank goodness cos Phil had to come find us the late night we arrived (sorry Phil). Everything was clean and tidy. Location very peaceful and quiet. No disturbance from neighbouring villas. What more can I say?

Thank you Sue, Pla and Tan for making our stay here at Rawai fantastic and the perfect way to start our 2 week holiday in Thailand for the first time.

Sue - your villas are the best :-) and your welcome on arrival and the fruit bowl was lovely - plus the complimentary late check out! + so grateful for the information folders on the area that you have put together for us all.

Pla (Sue's Tour Guide) - you're so cute and very helpful (you will find a husband soon for sure). Thanks also for the loan of the money on Saturday when the Exchange was closed. You amazed us with your faith in us returning you money - many hugs.

Tan (Sue's Massage lady) - your smile lights up the day and your hands are so strong and healing and soothing. Keep dancing - you're amazing! Thanks also to you for asking your sisters to take us to the night markets. It was so far - we would have died or missed it going on the mopeds!

Perfect villa, comfy, relaxing, clean and quiet! Hints for others - read the info Sue has put together ( don't waste time finding out yourselves). The Information Folder is full of good advice. Bon Island Long tail Boat trip is great - and have lunch there. Hire mopeds - such fun! Enjoy the pool.

      Can't wait to return

      Just perfect.

Left on 11/15/2011 for a stay in July 2011

We had an excellent holiday with Coconut Paradise in July 2011 and would recommend it to anyone especially couples, groups of friends and families.

Chris and Phil were excellent hosts. They arranged airport transfers at a very reasonable price, suggested good places to eat and hire a moped, go scuba diving and the welcome pack made settling in much easier. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always more than happy to give advice or personal recommendations.

Rawai was so beautiful and enjoyable that we decided to extend the Phuket leg of our Thai break. We had to change villas and Chris and Phil were very accommodating. Both villas, were luxurious, well furnished and equipped.

When we booked our trip, having a private pool wasn't something that we were bothered about, but then when we had one we really appreciated it. I'm not sure I would want to go back to sharing now!

All of the other staff that we encountered were exceptionally polite and courteous too. The gardeners work tirelessly to keep the grounds in good condition and always ask before entering if we were outside.

Rawai is a beautiful paradise. There was always something to do, and something to entertain everyone. We visited:
      • lots of different spots to watch the stunning sunsets (with Chris' expert help)
      • cultural sites - the big buddah
      • Kata and Nai-harn beaches for surfing and swimming
      • scuba diving from different islands
      • the wakeboarding lake - I learnt a new skill (it's much more enjoyable in the sun than in the cold of England!)
      • the luxury cinema and saw a 3D film and sat on a sofa
      • and we ate lots and lots of exquisite fresh thai food - very cheaply.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to Chris and Phil for making our holiday so special and we will be back!

      Thanks!
      Grace & Rhys.

Left on 06/10/2011 for a stay in May 2011

We chose this villa as our honeymoon destination and we were overjoyed with the whole experience! the villa was clean and stylish, along with a full fridge of food and beverages when we arrived from our long flight which was greatly appreciated!! the restaurant and activity booklets in the villa were very useful and were used day in day out, as was the initial tour around the area on arrival to the villa.

Phil and Chris were very helpful when we needed advice and great at suggesting companies for mopeds/touring and for restaurants in the area.

Everything was 5*, however we rated the location as 4* purely on the fact that we needed a moped to get around as closest shops/restaurants were about a 15-20minutes walk (loved the mopeds and definitely reccommend to others when staying here as so much fun!)

Thanks again for a brillant stay and for making our honeymoon so darn good and one we will always remember!!

Fantastic place to stay to explore Phuket, awesome service!

Left on 04/16/2011 for a stay in March 2011

This was our first trip to Phuket and with two boys in tow (11 and 8, one with special needs), we decided to go self-catering and with 2 bedrooms rather than a hotel room in a busy resort. We wanted to experience the culture of Thailand, not be in a resort where we could be anywhere in the world. We picked the Coconut Paradise Villas because of the area of Rawai - pretty quiet, but everything you need close by, plus locals living in the immediate streets. The location was just perfect and Phil & Chris, the hosts, welcomed us at check-in by going through everything we needed to know about the villa. We even had some food stocked in our fridge (including soft drink and beers) which was a god-send on our first night when we were unsure where to go and the local restaurant wasn't delivering food because of the rain, so we had something to eat there and then. With 2 bedrooms we all had space to relax and the boys enjoyed the private swimming pool. The outdoor area was lovely and well maintained every day. Phil also took us on a private familiarisation tour on our first free day there to show us around the local area and point out the good spots to eat, the local taxi/hire car company, the best beaches, markets, etc. It was fantastic service and Chris & Phil were always available to assist whenever we needed anything. The only downside would be the hard beds, but after a few nights the body did adjust! The villas had everything you needed including internet connection, fly screens and fully air-conditioned. We had a fantastic holiday and would definitely recommend Coconut Paradise Villas to anyone who wanted a relaxing self-catering holiday in Phuket!
