Lambertville NJA great place to stay in Paris
Left on 05/01/2013 for a stay in April 2013
This apartment felt like home right away. It was so much better than being in a hotel. Much more relaxed being there and in a great location. To top it off it was certainly quiet enough at night even on a busy neighborhood street.Everything was clean and well maintained, all appliances, fixtures in the apartment worked and the wifi quality was excellent for us too. Plenty of stores and markets nearby for all your needs.
I can't recommend this more for anyone who wants this kind of experience traveling. Please be aware if you have expectations for great big luxury rooms and elevators to get up up stairs this is probably not the place for you. This is a quaint old building in La Marais, probably typical of the space most Parisians probably live in. It is 3 or 4 flights up some narrow old steps but don't let that dissuade you if you want an authentic apartment experience in Paris. I wish I could have stayed longer, I would definitely get in shape quick with using those steps! I would most certainly come back and intend to stay here again.Response from Le Pinot Noir, Luxury in the Heart of the Marais - 05/04/2013

Thank you Doug for sharing your experience with others. We're happy to know you enjoyed your stay and to call Le Pinot Noir home. I couldn't agree more, the nearby markets, shops & cafes make it a perfect location and those stairs do help keep one in shape. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.

Aiken, SCAbsolutely perfect home base for Paris vacation!
Left on 04/29/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We rented this apartment for a week to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday, and all I can say is wow, we already miss it! We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. I spent hours upon hours researching different arrondissements and apartments six months ago before we made our plans, and I am so very glad we chose Le Pinot Noir. It did not disappoint.
I have lived in Paris for a summer, 12 years ago, so I knew what the normal Paris apartment looks like. Hard to get to, tiny bathrooms, cramped spaces - and these were in nice apartments! This apartment is large on a Paris scale, and the bathroom is huge! It has been perfectly renovated to give all the modern conveniences with the ambiance from eras past. Those that given any negative reviews on the space, must not be familiar with the normal city dwellings, because I was pleasantly surprised.
The decor is just as pictured - with good taste and attention to detail. The room smelled of fresh laundry, and instantly made us feel like Parisians. The stairs are older - that is to be expected, and once you have done them a few times you grow accustomed, I definitely wouldn't make them a deterrent if you are able bodied.
Everything we needed was provided - down to a hair straightener and hair dryer (great for luggage space saving), and although we didn't cook, we had everything we needed to do so.
The neighborhood was awesome. The streets are bustling, but not too busy, and it was more of family type of neighborhood. Great for people watching, and we always felt safe. Within steps of the grocery, and all specialty shops, and close to several Metro lines - which is key.
Le Pinot Noir was definitely a great home base, we didn't spend very much time there, because let's face it, we were in Paris! We did look forward to going home at the end of the day - maybe popping in one of the many selections of Dvds and sipping a glass of wine while we watched the streets below. A perfect Parisian getaway!

We stayed at Le Pinot Noir for 4 nights with our tween and teennage daughters. The first day, there was some confusion and we didn't have clean sheets and towels and toilet papers, but David took care of it as soon as I addressed it to him. He was also very helpfull in printing out the tickets to go to Disney Paris for us. We loved the decor and the location of the apartment. The amenities were good. The apartment had everything we needed to cook, wash our laundry and shower. It made us feel like we lived in Paris. There are lots of shops including bakeries, butchers, supermarket, etc near the apartment. I particularly wanted to go to Rose Bakery and Popelini in Marais Nord, so when I found out that those stores are located extreamly nearby the apartment, I was thrilled. I wish we had more time in Paris to explore.

We were welcomed to Le Pinot Noir by our point of contact (David) and taken through each of the features of the very comfortable 1 bedroom apartment. As we were staying for a week, the kitchenette, bath, washing machine/dryer, free internet and phonecalls were fantastic bonuses. But the real gem was the location: 5 minute stroll from amazing markets and the metro, and Marais. The owner (Linda, based in the us) was also very quick to respond to emails, and everything delivered is as described. We'll be sure to recommend this place to other couples and friends. Thanks for making our Paris trip a very special one!

My husband and I stayed here for our 1 year wedding anniversary and absolutely loved it! I have been to Paris a few times staying both in apartments and hotels. Le Pinot Noir was by far the best place I've stayed. The owner, Linda, did not miss a thing with this apartment right down to the very complete manual!
Le Pinot Noir felt like a home away from home. The neighborhood was great! We made dinner a couple of times and enjoyed shopping at the local markets.
We highly recommend this apartment and hope we are lucky enough to stay here again one day!Response from Le Pinot Noir, Luxury in the Heart of the Marais - 05/04/2013

Amsterdam, The NetherlandsInternet needs fixed
Left on 03/06/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We spent 4 nights at this apartment in February. It is in a lovely neighborhood, with lots of little specialty food shops selling meats, cheese, and quiches. It's above a cream puff shop, and a natural food store. The apartment is across the street from a Poilâne.
The bed was comfortable. We found the apartment to be a nice size for Paris standards. The steps were not a problem for us, they may have been crooked but they weren't too steep or narrow.
We had s few minor annoyances inside the apartment. The apartment could use a deep cleaning. We were constantly annoyed by the sofa, the seat cushion wouldn't stay on, and was rather large to be wrestling with constantly. The biggest problem was the internet. The signal was so weak you couldn't use it in the bedroom, and this apartment is small. Also, it only allowed one device online at a time. This is a problem if more then one person would like to be on the internet at a time. We also found the wifi around Paris to be rather weak so we couldn't use our phones to look online while we were out. It was really inconvenient for us not to have a solid internet connection. (we did try restarting the modem).
Also we found it odd that David told us to call him if we needed anything but didn't give us his phone number. I wanted to call him about the internet. The books and signs with information where overloaded with rules which felt very unwelcoming. We didn't find David's phone number in the books. I also remember there being signs on the walls with more rules printed on them. I felt like the owner assumed her average guest was completely irresponsable.
I also had to contact the owner to ask for my deposit back, which didn't sit well with me.
I would only recommend this apartment to a friend who doesn't use the internet.Response from Le Pinot Noir, Luxury in the Heart of the Marais - 03/08/2013

I'm sorry and very surprised to learn you found the apartment in need of a "deep cleaning". Just prior to your arrival I was in the apartment doing a serious Spring cleaning. We take pride in keeping it in pristine condition. I remind all guests that both David's mobile and email are listed on your LPN arrival information sheet. I would have been happy to help you with your issues had you contacted me. There is a stack of LPN business cards with my contact details listed on the entrée table. The internet system is in the process of being upgraded so that more than one device can be used at a time. However I have no control over the speed and efficiency of French wifi. I supply guests with a user friendly manual for the TV, appliances, etc. Past guests have found this most useful especially Americans who are not familiar with European appliances. There is one small sign at the front door gently reminding guests to turn off lights and heaters when going out for the day or departing for the airport. This is not to assume they are irresponsible but rather a safety precaution. I strive to return guest security deposit within 48 hours of checking out however there are cases such as yours when I was on a transatlantic flight and this was not possible. We want all our guests to have a positive experience and only wish you would have contacted us during your stay so we could have helped you resolve your issues.

Left on 11/29/2012 for a stay in April 2012
My husband and I stayed here for a week in april of 2012. We had an absolutely lovely time and I am now addicted to renting apartments! The bedroom was perfectly located - easily blocks out daylight if desired. The bathroom is huge. The kitchen amenities are excellent. Loved having a washer/dryer. Only minor quibble is that we had to buy toilet paper and there were some random things (a half empty can of Coke, for example) left in the refrigerator from the last guests.
Booking was easy. As others have said, the apartment is in a truly wonderful location. We walked absolutely everywhere even though the Metro was very conveniently located. We just had a great time and the experience with renting the apartment could not have been better. Thanks, Linda! -

We had the pleasure staying at Le Pinot Noir for five nights this July/August. We checked in around 5PM and David, the on-site property manager, was there waiting for us. David was courteous and provided us with must knows and even safety tips when travel in Paris.
Le Pinot Noir is centrally located in Marais, surrounded by cafes, markets, bakeries, and anything you might need. This location is 3 min. walk to Filles du Calvaire Metro stop and 10 min. walk to Rick Steve's famous bus #69 stop. If you enjoy walking, you could easily walk to Notre Dame or Pompidou.
We were a bit worry before we arrived at Le Pinot Noir due to the apartment has no air conditioning and we have four people; me, husband, and a 12 yrs. old and a 15 yrs. But the apartment was airy and cool during the week we were there and have enough space for all four of us.
We booked Le Pinot Noir because we know a few families who've stayed there before and all gave high marks! I would definitely recommend it and we will stay there again on our next trip to Pairs! -

Left on 05/15/2012 for a stay in April 2012
From the minute we arrived we new it was going to be great. Our greeter (David) was there to show us all we needed to know. He also helped us take our bags of the "Tale of Two Cities" stair case. The apartment was everything as advertised and even more. It felt more like a home than just an apartment vacation rental. It was decorated very nicely with little personal touches everywhere. All appliances worked fine. The coffee maker, the washing machine and dryer, and even the room heaters on the few times we needed them. The view of the neighborhood from the window was great. The neighborhood itself was absolutely charming. You really are in a local french neighborhood. All of the great shops in the neighborhood met all of our needs. Plenty of cafes and bakeries only steps away. Grocery stores and even flower stores were right there. To take the metro you were only about two blocks away. If you wanted to walk to the Louvre you had a great walk on Rue De archives and were there in about 40 minutes. The Marais area is a great place to walk and there is plenty to see.
If you want a great dining experience I would recommend the Cafe Carette at Place de Vosges. This is only about a ten minute walk from the apartment. The atmosphere, food and pastery are to die for. Try their Pear Rasberry Tart. The best ever.
If you want a really great shopping experience go into the les milles feuilles on the Rue de archives. It is a great little shop with all kinds of great gifts for yourself and others.
Lastly, I would like to say that the apartment owner, Linda, was a great host. She took the time to answer all of our questions and and made sure our booking experience was smooth and easy. My wife and I will be going back!!!

Left on 02/02/2012 for a stay in January 2012
This rental was smaller than represented. It says room for 4 people, but I think that is a misrepresentation. It also is described as a luxury rental and it was just average. The entry at the street and staircase feel seedy. The bathroom was probably the nicest part about the unit. The bedroom was so small there was no room for luggage. Wifi is not easy to use. The couch is very uncomfortable to sit on and watch a movie. There is so much furniture that it crowds things even more. We did find the unit clean and the greeter was nice. Overall, I feel this to be a very average unit.

I'm sorry you did not find Le Pinot Noir up to your standards. The apartment size is clearly stated and is considered a "large" one bedroom by Paris standards. There are closets designed especially for storing luggage. The Wifi system is the same as you'll find throughout France as well as a simple easy step by step booklet with instructions in English should you have any problems. Personally I feel 1 sofa and 1 chair for comfortable seating is not "too much furniture" and I'm sorry you found a 3 month old sofa not to your satisfaction. Again, this is a private home fitted with everything one needs to live a very comfortable life in the center of Paris.

Le Pinot Noir is a beautiful apartment in a beautiful part of Paris. It was a well located spot to recoved from Paris in experiencing a final burst of summer.
The apartment is several floors up and something to consider if your're put off by stairs.
Kitchen and bathroom were clean and well appointed.
In all - a great spot to explore one of my favourite cities. I hope to be back soon! -

We stayed three nights in this cozy, charming and well-appointed one bedroom apartment. The bed (in the bedroom) was very comfortable as was the sofabed in the living/sitting room (something rare-a good sofabed!) A modern kitchen had all the necessary utensils, dishware, glassware and appliances, and the bathroom was spacious, new and bright, with plenty of counter space for toiletries and cosmetics (important, as we were two women with lots of "stuff")
We so enjoyed eating breakfast at the table in the window, watching the world go by on Rue de Bretagne, four floors below. (As there is no elevator in this building, visitors should be in reasonably good shape for climbing the stairs. We were greeted promptly on arrival by Stacy, who helped with the heavy bags, so otherwise the stairs posed no problem for us.)
Rue de Bretagne is full of wonderful food shops, and the Marche is one block away. The Metro is close, but it is possible to walk nearly everywhere in central Paris from this terrific location.
More than three people would find this place a bit small, but it is hard to imagine a more charming home base in Paris.
I'll be back!

This is a lovely holiday rental, and I strongly recommend renting an apartment for Paris. Great area with terrific local shops and atmosphere. It is up three flights of steep stairs - so not suited to everyone. But very authentic and quaint. Great for two, or couple with one child. Would be a squeeze for 4 adults. Very well equipped and organised. Easy communication with the owner. Happy to recommend.

We stayed for 5 days in June 2011 with our two kids, ages 15 & 10. The neighborhood is so cute & has everything one could need to feel as if one is Parisian. The apartment is adorable & comfortable. The owners have stocked it with everything - shampoo, conditioner, soap, laundry detergent, umbrellas, a handy area guide, Paris travel books, an adapter - you name it - they have thought of it. We sight-seed the rest of Paris all day & then returned each evening to explore le Marais, eat dinner in its terrific restaurents & hip cafe culture. Would stay here again and would readily recommend.

Left on 06/07/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We were thrilled about our first trip to Paris and this apartment made our dream trip even better than we had imagined! I will try to touch on all of the things we were "thinking about" before we rented this apt.
Location - Absolutely perfect!! After exploring the entire city, we wouldn't stay anywhere but the Marais, particularly this area of the 3rd. There were many restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the apt. There were also cafe's, bars, Amorino ice cream (you have to try it!) and plenty of stores for stocking up goodies for the apt.
Cleanliness - Out of a 10, we would give it a 9.
Comfort - Bed was incredibly comfortable. Shower was great. Couch was hard, but how often do you sit on your couch while in Paris? Table by the window was nice. Kitchen had everything we needed.
Service - The woman was there waiting for us when we arrived. We did arrive 15 minutes late b/c of a plane delay out of the U.S., but she was there no problem. She did seem in a hurry to leave, but that could be b/c we were late.
Only two negatives: laundry machine - don't even try to do your laundry. The dryer aspect of the washer/dryer combo doesn't even work. Apparently, this is a known fact b/c the woman who gave us a tour of the apt. told us to use the laundromat down the street if we needed to dry our clothes. The other negative were the towels. There were only two for the two of us (which wouldn't be a problem if the laundry apparatus worked) and they were extremely rough on the skin. There were plenty of hand towels and wash clothes though. This seems like an easy thing to fix for the owner.
Overall - This is a great place to stay. The two windows that open out on to the street allow the charm of Paris to flow through the apartment. The bed is super comfortable and the bedding is good quality. There are 4 flights of steep stairs to climb up, which we didn't mind, but it is something to keep in mind if you have issues with stairs. Linda did a great job decorating this apartment to make you feel that your trip to Paris is a special one...

We had high expectations of Le Pinot Noir and we were not disappointed.
From our initial contact with the owner through to our arrival and during our stay everything was top notch.
Communication was prompt and clear and our greeter could not have been more helpful.
This was our first stay in an apartment over an hotel but it will not be our last! The accommodation itself was more than adequate for our needs - we were 4 adults staying in the apartment which for our mini-break was absolutely fine - all of us were pleased with the standard of the accommodation which was excellent value for money.
We had everything we needed and some!
They say location is everything and the location of this apartment is just perfect. All of the major attractions are easily accessible as are all the local forms of public transport if needed.
We walked just about everywhere. The neighbourhood is both safe and friendly with restaurants, cafe bars, shops and more on the doorstep.
We could go on but suffice it to say, we had a marvellous 4 day break in Paris and this was in no small part due to the high quality of our accommodation. -

I stayed at Le Pinot Noir with my husband and our 2 children in July 2010 for seven days. Upon entering the apartment, it looked a lot smaller than it did in the pictures, but it was so beautiful that it really didn't matter. We loved everything from the amazing bath products that were in the beautiful and very clean bathroom to the gorgeous kitchen to the DVD collection that we made us of. We felt so much at home in this apartment. We walked everywhere from here -- and I mean everywhere, including Sacre Coeur. Took a while because it was so hot, but we did it. We loved all the stores and the shops near the area. My husband even jogged every morning in the area, just like he did at home. We loved going to a lovely shop called 'Ramella' just up the street to get fresh and prepared foods. We can't wait to go back. The world cup was on when we were in Paris and as we watched a DVD from our family room with the window wide open ( we were so hot because there was a heat wave in Paris at the time and the apartment does not have air conditioning -- thank goodness for the fans) we could hear the roars and cheers of those watching the game from the cafes around the neighbourhood. It was a night and a week to remember. Thank you for such a beautiful, welcoming and warm stay. Better than a hotel.

I would not furnish so many five star ratings liberally; it is with utmost sincerity I impart how impressed I am with the value, comfort, cleanliness, location, check-in process and service throughout my stay. The furniture was in impeccable condition, though I rarely used it since the centrality of the Marais made for great night time walks and close proximity to museums and other attractions. When I return to Paris I'm staying here - I'd be hard-pressed to find such a steal. Great accommodations for a great price.

Le Pinot Noir is a beautiful flat in the Marias District of Paris. It's location is perfect. Its within walking distance to the metro and it is a beautiful area to walk in. The flat is wonderful with one bed in a bedroom and a fold out couch in the livingroom! The owner Linda has done a great job of decorating it with a beautiful red walls and hardwood floors! The bathroom with its waterfall shower and huge bathtub made it a treat to get back from a long day of sightseeing. There is a bakery that is well known by locals who form a line out of the door every morning! We had fresh baguettes , chocolate tarts and a variety of other decadent treats every day! I was in heaven. There are great bistros and cafes in the area also. They provide a relaxing view from Le Pinot Noir with all of their twinkling lights. All of the people we encountered were all very helpful and kind. Most spoke enough english to help us on our way. Linda and Stacey were very helpful before and during our trip. I would surely choose to stay here again if I find myself back in this beautiful city. ! Le Pinot Noir is a great place to enjoy your trip to Paris.

We ended up arriving a day early and Linda was very gracious to offer us the flat on that day. Everything was to our expectation and more. We had immediate access to Stacey, our contact person. The apartment is adorable and very nicely decorated. It has every amenty of home that you could possibly ask for.The view from our floor was such a typical Paris neighborhood view. We felt right at home day one. We were able to call home for free everyday to check on parents and family which was very nice to have. The weather was superb in September 72 degrees in the day and 59 degrees at night. Le Marais- the neighborhood of Le Pinot Noir- is very american friendly. All of the shop keepers, cafe's and biistros and street vendors were more than gracious to us! We had very little problem being able to communicate. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. Thanks, Linda.

On our arrival at Pinot Noir we were met by a very friendly greeter who instantly made us feel at home and made sure we knew how everything worked. And once she left we set about exploring our home from home.
We had seen plenty of photos of Pinot Noir before we arrived, but it still surpassed our expectations. The owners have done an amazing job of exposing some of the original features of the flat, especially the wonderful wooden beams in the ceiling which give the apartment its cosy feeling.
Pinot Noir is finished to an exceptionally high standard, the kind of standard you would expect from a 4 or even 5 star hotel - we had everything we needed to make our stay extremely comfortable.
And as important as the apartment itself is the neighbourhood it finds itself in, and Le Marais in general, and the Rue de Bretagne in particular, are as nice an area as any in Paris. From the boulangeries, cheese shops, greengrocers, butcher shops, supermarkets, cafes and restuarants, to the real bonus of the Aux Enfants Rouges market just around the corner, everything is right there on the doorstep.
We had an unforgettable stay at Pinot Noir, and definitely hope to return sometime in the future. -

We loved every detail of our experience at Le Pinot Noir. Linda has decorated the apartment to make one feel welcome and very much at home in Paris. We loved the location as well.
I would stay again at Le Pinot Noir and would recommend it to all my friends and fellow travelers.
It is warm, luxurious and comfortable. A quiet retreat after a busy day rushing around Paris. We cooked meals, watched movies, read and relaxed during our stay. -

Le Pinot Noir is a wonderfully appointed apartment in the Marais district where you will feel like you are truly a Parisian! The owner has covered every detail to ensure that our experience was memorable - from the lovely linens, vast array of books and DVDs for our entertainment to the welcome bottle of Pinot Noir upon our arrival......We felt at home the minute we arrived! The entire apartment is beautfully decorated...the bedroom was especially inviting after a day of sightseeing in Paris - the linens felt luxurious and the bed was very comfortable. We can't wait to go back for another stay!

The apartment is great; very comfortable bed, very clean, great bathroom, super functional kitchen. It packs a lot into it's small size. My husband and I stayed here during a very chilly February week and we were quite happy. No noise at all (and it's on a pretty vibrant street)and anything you need is right outside your door. They provided a bottle of wine and great reading materials-I recommend leafing through the binders under the coffee table. Stairs up are a little steep, but pretty typical of many Parisian apartments; not a whole lot of storage space in the bedroom, but luggage can be kept near the front entrance. I felt very satisfied with the quality for the amount we paid and would rent here again. The owner was also helpful via email answering questions I had.

Who knew renting a lovely apartment in Paris could be so easy? My email
inquiry was responded to promptly and efficiently. When we arrived early on a
Sunday morning we were met by Stacey, Linda's greeter who showed us
around the apartment and attempted to give us the drill on the tv/vcr, stove
etc. However being somewhat jet lagged it didn't really register, assuming that
there would be a house manual we could refer to. Poor Stacey ! We called her
several times, and she always responded w/ good humor and patience. So
really, our only caveat was that written instructions would have been helpful.
The apartment is beautifully decorated, sunny, charming, well equipped to a
very high standard and with a fabulous bathtub! The location in the Marais
was perfect, great market street around the corner with the metro close by.
We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to recommend it, Linda's
taste is exquisite, the location is perfect and we hope to return to this
charming and romantic nest!
