Additional Location Information
The apartment is in the3rd arrondissementright in front of the Picasso Museum, in the heart of the Marais, and close to the Hotel de Ville, Notre Dame, theIsle Saint Louis, theCentre Pompidouand Place des Vosges, built by Henry IV at the beginning of the 1600s and constructed in a particular brick and stone manner found only in Paris.
TheMaraisis a typically bourgeois neighbourhood which covers areas of the 3rd and 4th arrondissements, on the Rive Droite of Paris (right bank of the Seine).
Most of the buildings in this district are very old. It partly explains the very small streets. This area is full of tales from the past. It is very rich thanks to its historical background and its location. It has been a key part of Paris since almost the very foundation of the city itself. During the 12th Century the Templars eliminated the marshlands north of Philippe Auguste’s borders, and starting from the 16th Century the aristocrats started building vast residences in the area, a tendency which was infinitely increased after the creation of Place Royale, later transformed into Place des Vosges by Henri IV in 1605. The eventual decision to move the royal court to Versailles caused a drastic decline to the area, and Haussman’s later movement to re-establish the city saw an active renovation exclusively in the Marais. In 1969 André Malraux declared the Marais to be the first protected area, with all its museums, art galleries and historical sites.
The closest subway is Saint Sebastien Froissard, line 8.

Auckland, NZConvenient space in great area

Small but comfortable space in a great location (Marais) in Paris. Stayed in this apartment with three other friends while we were visitng Paris to run the marathon. Right in the middle of great shopping/dining, with a lively and fun atmosphere at every turn.
Cooking/laundry facilities were much appreciated given our purpose for visitng.
For four people, relaxing space/couch room was rather limited - and it would have been great if there was wifi, which we ended up purchasing through Orange instead.
On level one, so great as there was no lift, but quite noisy and streetlights were very bright, given the curtains were not very thick and did not block a lot of light.
Overall, it was great being in an apartment over a hotel, and we did appreciate the owner checking us out without us being present, therfore not requiring us to pay the additional 20 Euro that we were required to on check in, given it was after hours. We wouldn't have known had we asked though, as it was not advertised as an option.
Will definitely look to use Halldis the next time I visit Paris, as it is great having the flexibility an apartment offers. Thank you for a memorable stay. -

Toronto, CanadaA bit noisy but aside from that, this place is just about ideal

A surprisingly spacious apartment with excellent amenities, with an unbeatable location. It was ideal for our family of 4, with 2 young children. The boys had a bedroom of their own and there were 2 bathrooms, each with a shower. The bedrooms overlook the street and Saturday nights can be noisy.

OsloExpensive, small and dirty
Left on 03/12/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Great location, but the flat was old, dirty and very small. No WiFi, and old coking facilities. For the price they are charging I would recommend others to stay at a very nice hotel right around the corner-it would probably be cheeper, cleaner, free WiFi and better serviced.

Manager
Dear Lily,
We’re sorry that you did not feel completely comfortable during your stay in Paris, even more so because this apartment is usually well appreciated by our customers. The kitchen was renovated a couple of years ago; I don't know if you noticed, but it even includes induction cooktop. If you judge that some specific tools were missing or need to be replaced, please let us know and we will be pleased to intervene.
In this particular apartment internet is actually available through a cable connection, not a wifi one.
We have some very strict standards concerning the state in which we welcome our clients. If you had informed us of the cleaning problem at your arrival, we would have sent someone to clean promptly. We apologize for the inconvenience.
We thank you for your comment, which will be very useful to improve our services.
Best regards,

Medford,NJPerfect lacation
Left on 09/12/2011 for a stay in September 2011
we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 12 Rue de Thorigny, wonderful location, surrounded by beautiful buildings, shops, restaurents and interesting sights. (we were sorry the Picasso museum, across the street, was closed)Also close walking distance to two Metro stations.
The apartment was very well equiped, it could use more forks in the kitchen and more water glasses! Apart from that we were extreemly pleased with everything. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms very comfortable for our family of one couple and two single ladies.
It was a very pleasent suprise to open the large entrance door and find a pleasent courtyard with trees, surrounded by other apartments, but none of which were in any way obtrusive.
Thank you, it was lovely (and so was the weather!)

Great location and good service from Halldis. Only minor issue was poor instructions for TV. Nice to see a few basics in the cupboard like oil, salt and pepper etc.
