MontrealVery neat apartment and location.
Left on 02/20/2013 for a stay in November 2012
I had the pleasure of spending 10 days in Paris with some friends and our stay in this apartment contributed to the enjoyable time we had. The apartment has all if the amenities one might want and is managed by Christiana, who lives nearby and very available should one have a question or need something. The instructions that she shared with us were so clear ( as well as written down for reference ) that we didn't need to call on her.
The apartment is also very well situated and close to food and wine stores and numerous restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. The metro stop Les Filles du Calvaire is but a few minutes away on foot and from here one can reach any site in and around Paris.
I would recommend this apartment without reservation.
Thanks again to Christiana for all of your kind help and attention.Response from Christiana - 02/22/2013

We loved our stay in the apartment. It had everything we wanted. We loved haveing proper coffee to start our mornings. We had to couple staying together and it was big enough for us both to have separate spaces and not feel like we were always stumbling over each other. Short walk to metro and markets. We loved it.

I think the Title sums it up. This place is absolutely amazing and cannot go wrong with Value for Money. The personalized approach Christiana takes to your arrival is second to none. I've never met someone so dedicated to helping out and providing so much assistance; From organizing a Car from the airport, To reloading my Phone Sim (My French is limited and Sfr's recharge message doesn't come it English!...) She was more than happy to help! I also arrived early from Monaco and she was very accommodating in that The apartment it self is located in a great district and far enough away to feel like your living the french lifestyle but close enough that you can walk everywhere. The architecture is in a world of its own and bring the charm about the place. Everything that you need is provided and all that is needed to do is open up the Windows and Relax on the balcony with a Glass of Red and watch the world go by. The bed is very comfortable, and probably one of the best that I've had when I've traveled and the shower was also great, Heaps of pressure and good size. I would choose this place over a hotel any day in Paris. I hope you get the chance to experience this wonderful place, It's like no other and adds to your Parisian Experience

Left on 09/05/2012 for a stay in July 2012
This apartment was even better than the photos. It is a perfect mix of old charm with high ceilings, wood floors and large french windows and modern with new kitchen and bathrooms. Plus, a washer/dryer.
And the location for shopping Isabel Marant Etoile across the the street the kids store fingers in nose. cool vintage and countless other stores.
the location was great we walked everywhere. the entrance is located on a small side street and there is noisy traffic on the main street outside if you open the windows during business hours. But, it was no more than typical paris noise. I traveled with my 11 year old daughter and her best friend and her mom. we had plenty of room and there was always something to do close to the apartment. I have always stayed in hotels in paris but this had changed my attitude forever.
Christiana is amazing to deal with. Very straight forward ( the wire info no fuss not muss), thoughtful ( amenities like laundry detergent and shampoo) and honest ( got full deposit back with no fuss). the entire rental transaction was flawless.
I have never written a review for anything in my life but i feel compelled to let people know how great the entire experience was instead of keeping it a secret.

Dear Keki,
I can't thank you enough for taking the time to write such a wonderful review. My biggest satisfaction is that your experience changed your opinion about renting a property in Paris and that the apartment and myself contributed to this.
It is particularly important to me and future guests that such a thorough message comes from someone who does not normally write reviews - what a privilege!
I hope that I will have the chance to welcome you again on your next visit, sooner rather than later. You were the perfect guests!
Warm regards,

Left on 07/18/2012 for a stay in July 2012
My wife and I with 2 teenage daughters arrived in the early evening from Orly airport by taxi which was the easiest way and reasonable at 45 Euros. First impressions were good - a comfortable, clean, well equiped apartment. The stairway, however could be more welcoming. We enjoyed our stay and found the location excellent for shops, restaurants and the Metro. Although there is no air conditioning we didn't find it too warm and the noise from outside did not bother us. Christiana was pleasant and we had no need to contact her during our visit as we experienced no problems.
I would suggest, however that the owners take more resposibility for a tempremental toilet and shower plumbing finacially if things go wrong as the onus is put totally on the tenant which seems unfair.Response from Christiana - 07/29/2012

Dear Neil,
Thank you for your kind review and I'm glad to hear that you had a pleasant stay.
I'm sorry that you found the toilet "temperamental". As I explained to you during your stay and is detailed in the guidebook, this is a toilet equipped with an electric masher, as the evacuation pipes are located far from that bathroom. It is not unusual in Paris to find such toilets, as piping in 150+ year old buildings can be erratic and placed in inconvenient locations. So far there have been absolutely no issues with it, as all of my guests are very careful to follow the simple rule, exactly the same way you did - do not throw anything except toilet paper inside. The only reason why it would ever break down would be if this rule is not followed, in which case it would be entirely the tenant's responsibility.
The alternative to this solution would have been to have only one toilet in the apartment. I'm sure that most guests so far have appreciated having 2 full bathrooms during their stay.
I was not aware that you had issues with the shower piping, could you please send me an e-mail with more details? If there is anything wrong with it that I was not aware of, I will need to have it fixed immediately.
I hope that the WC noise during flushing did not inconvenience you much and I'm looking forward to welcoming you to Paris again.
Kind regards,
Christiana

The neighborhood was very nice with good food. The apt was clean and comfortable with a great automatic espresso maker. One toilet was finicky but having two bathrooms is fantastic especially when traveling with two teenage girls. Only negative is that it is quite noisy at a busy intersection but in cooler months you can keep the windows closed at night. Summer might be tough with noise and no a/c so not able to keep the windows closed.
Kristiana was very helpful and great to work with

Dear Claudia,
Thank you very much for your review and I'm glad to hear you had such a good time!
The electric toilet in the second bathroom does, indeed, come as a surprise to many of my guests - a french innovation to enable installing toilets far from the evacuation pipes. Noisy when you flush it but very efficient.
Street noise is inevitable in big cities, that's why the owners opted for the soundproof double-glazed windows. I'm glad to hear they were efficient.
If you come in the summer next time, hopefully an A/C will have been installed!
See you again soon I hope.

Stayed in the apartment for 9 days in mid april. Fab location, close to Republic metro station ( get away to all the attractions ), faboulous local cafes and bakeries and most importantly, away from the tourists!!! The apartment is spacious and charming. Christiana is extremely helpful from the beginning and very flexible with the check in and check out depending on availibility. Highly recommended if you ever come to Paris!!

dear christiana,
we wanted to thank you for our perfectly organised 8 day stay in your appartment in paris. tanya did a great job greeting us, giving us all the necessary information to start our marais life right away (rue bretagne!!). the appartment we found very charming & chique, exactly as it had seemed in the internet. both beds were very comfortable (no back-ache!!). we loved that there were two bath rooms! we cooked in the appartment every night, having bought all the delicious ingredients in the small shops around the corner. our two small children were happy to chill in front of the tv after long paris walking days (3 metro stations close by!). my only small suggestion would be that you buy smaller main course plates so they fit into the dish washer. for the rest i can only recommend the appartment at 70 rue saintonge for short and long term stays!!
thanks christiana, i hope to be back soon!

We had excellent contact with Christiana throughout the booking process, arrival and departure. Very friendly and thorough in the details of the apartment and it's surroundings.
The apartment was perfect for our needs - couple with 20yr old daughter - as it had separate sleeping areas with two bathrooms, a spacious kitchen/dining/lounge area, cooking and laundry facilities. It was warm, comfortable and felt like home!
Situated close to Oberkampf metro station, shops, restaurants and easy walking to tourists spots and areas of interest.
The area of Le Marais felt safe to walk in after dark, it was near restaurants after a busy day in Paris and supermarkets were also located nearby.
We loved the comfort, spaciousness and warmth of the apartment, thank you very much Christiana, we will definitely contact you again when we return to Paris!Response from Christiana - 04/13/2012

I really enjoyed my four-night stay here. It was very comfortable, and a nice mix of traditional Parisian with modern touches. It was also, importantly, so convenient to everything that I was able to go places by foot or by a short metro ride. I'm picky about beds, and was very pleased to see the bedroom mattress very comfortable. There's noise from the street, but by Parisian standards it's not bad, and the bedroom is relatively quiet.
