The rue Charlot is among the most fashionable and sought after streets in the Upper Marais, with a fine selection of shops, restaurants, bars and fun trendy places to shop. This area especially began to grow with the restoration of many historical buildings such as the Hotel de Retz, which houses galleries, designers, and showrooms, as well as the Hotels Brossier and de Sauroy, built in the 1650s by the developer and financier Charlot. It is deemed to be one of the most chic of the area, full of great restaurants and innovative art galleries, as well as many historic sites and luxury shops, not to mention those of new creative designers.
Lovers of classical music will be well served by going to the Armenian Church at 6 rue Charlot, a veritable Mecca of Baroque art where you can enjoy high quality concerts on weekends.
"Vintage Photography" at 55 rue Charlot offers a beautiful selection of vintage photographs as well as portraits, a perfect souvenir of your trip to Paris.
The «Enfants Rouges» market, founded in 1610, contains an incredible variety of restaurants offering many types of ethnic foods as well as French, plus a vegetable and fruit market.
