Description from the manager
This 3 bedroom hillside home on 2 acres has the feel of a secluded cabin and all the conveniences of being near town (2 miles west of Red Lodge). Upon entering you are met with expansive views of the West Fork of Rock Creek Valley in the Beartooth Mountains through the floor to ceiling windows that compromise the entire back side of the house. Across the valley is a large elk refuge where elk can be seen grazing during the winter months. From the house you can also see deer, turkeys, and if you’re lucky, a bear or moose. The house is full of custom touches throughout that make it warm and inviting including new wood floors and carpet, b...Read more

North Dakota
North DakotaBeautiful location, warm inviting house.
Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We have stayed in quite a few rental homes in Red Lodge and the location of this one is top notch. It's right on the way up to the ski resort and is on the edge of the hill for maximum privacy. The only issues we had were a couple house maintenance issues: (1) the gas fireplace ran out of gas after one night. We could have called if it had mattered that much and I am sure it would have been taken care of. (2) This must be an older home as there are not very many lights (no lights in the ceiling of the bedrooms etc). This causes you to get ready in the morning trying to use one little lamp. The lights they do had we had trouble getting to work. The dining room light never did turn on and only half the recessed lighting worked.
There is a double garage but there was a car parked on one side so only one stall was usable. Would've been kindof nice to put both our cars inside during the night.
This house had plenty of kitchen items, plates, utensils etc. We did make a pizza one night but it smelled like the stove needed to be cleaned. We loved the fact that the master closet was huge! Could definately accomodate a child or two. Also note that all the bedrooms are on the lower level (basement) in case of handicap accessible issues. The men in our party were absolutely crushed that they did not get the March Madness Mens basketball channel. They had some movie channels but no Espn or CBS. Also there isn't a tv in the main living area, only a small one in the family room. Would've thought a big screen would go nicely in place of a painting so we weren't all crammed around the small tv in the family room.

Glasgow, MTWonderful Cabin, Beautiful View!
Left on 03/07/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Elk Mountain was a fantastic choice for our group! Not only is it located on Ski Run Rd, which is the road to Red Lodge Mountain, but it is perfect for 3 couples! It has 3 bedrooms in the daylight basement that each have a patio access door that leads right to the hot tub, a fully stocked kitchen (including spices, tin foil and zip lock bags, etc) and lots of room! We loved it! The view was incredible! The entire back wall of the house is windows, including the bedrooms downstairs. We loved it! We will definitely be staying here again next year! Thank you to the Christensen's, the owners!

Bismarck, NDGreat place to get away!

My wife and I have been going on a ski vacation for the last 7 years with a few other couples. This year we decided on Red Lodge. This place was fantastic with the location close to the mountain but easy drive to town. Amazing views out the full windows in the back. Cabin was stocked with everything you could need. Light above the dining table was not working but I am sure it was fixed right away Tuesday morning (Monday was a holiday). Definitely recommend this place and next time in Red Lodge we will stay here again.

Christmas Ski Trip
BillingsEverything was as advertised
Left on 01/02/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Had a great time in Red Lodge during the Christmas holidays. Went cross-country skiing one day followed by down hill the next. The Elk Mountain home was perfect for us. Enjoyed playing games at the table, hot tubbing, and enjoying some home cooking all with the majestic mountains in the background.
Would do it again all over again. -

Powell, WYRelaxation at its best!
Left on 11/28/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We chose to stay at Elk Mountain over Thanksgiving this year. The house was perfect for our group of 6...even though it could easily accommodate many more people! We only had three negative issues. One was the hot tub which did not heat and had to be fixed, but they came as soon as I called. Another was the oven, which billowed black smoke when we baked cookies the first night...however, it burned off and was no longer a problem. Finally, the toilet in the 1/2 bath ran constantly and had to be fixed over and over again. Since my husband kept fixing it, I didn't want to bother the rental agency about the repair over the holidays, but I'm sure they would have come if I had called. It was such a quiet location...great for sleeping, the kitchen was extremely well stocked with all the dishes, gadgets, etc we needed, and we got to see deer in the mornings and evenings out the bank of windows that spanned the entire living and dining area...gorgeous view!!! In spite of our "minor" problems, it was well worth it and we would most definitely stay here again. The rental agency was great to deal with as well.

Me
North dakotajust ok
Left on 11/03/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Red Lodge is always nice, regardless of where u stay! However this house was not for me. It had came with 2 broken couches and the fireplaces was not working at the time of our visit. The chairs outside on the deck had no seats. For these issues they offered 15% off our next stay in this house and were having the owners look into what needed repairs. I do not plan on using that discount. Otherwise it is a fine house if you are one who goes out alot. We were not those people. We wanted to watch the football games, but with 1 very small tv and limited stations (no local channels either) this was not possible. No wifi. Hot tub was nice tho the light switch for outside could be better located as it is in one of the bedrooms. There was a car parked in the garage so that is really not open to renters and parking space is small. If u have more than 3 cars there it could get tight. The black out shades they claim don't fully fit the windows so that does not apply. Plenty of light gets in. When u r upstairs u can hear the people downstairs snoring and all the bedrooms are downstairs right next to eachother, and yes, you can hear much of everything. Poorly built house. Not worth the price, even for the view in my opinion.

Thank you for your feedback. The owners have replaced the broken sofa and there is a new gas fireplace in the living room. The owners are upgrading frequently. AAA Red Lodge Rentals.

We had such a good time during our stay at Elk Mountain - the house is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and the view is wonderful. Our family ran the 5k Charity Run which was excellent. We would love to come back another time - maybe during the ski season.

Billings, MTNice home with a great view of the absaroka's.
Left on 11/15/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We had a great time and the service (checking the PH in the hot tube, and the young lady that did this, also worked hard to find us a fan
because the fan at the house had no cord).
It would seem that for the price, some things should be updated, i.e.
the Kitchen appliances and the cover over a very marginal barbque was
in shreds and held together by some string.
The home was very clean & neat which made it very comfortable.
We would have preferred to be on Rock Creek but, my children didn't
confirm their visit until all those accommodations were gone.Response from AAA Red Lodge Rentals - 01/27/2012
