Description from the manager
This is an ideal spot for nearly every outdoor activity you can think of. It is sunny most of the year and at the resort you are close to hiking, biking, fishing, ATV'ing as well as horseback riding.
A visit to Red River—located at the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains in northern New Mexico—is not complete without a visit to nearby Taos or traversing the Enchanted Circle Tour. This National Scenic Byway circles Wheeler Peak, the highest in New Mexico, at 13,161 feet. Don't miss stopping along the way to see the works of local woodworkers, tinsmiths, painters, stained glass workers, and sculptors.

Albuquerque, New MexicoGreat Weekend Getaway
Left on 01/17/2013 for a stay in November 2012
Red River is know for skiing in the winter and outdoor activities in the summer. (Bicycling, horse back riding, hiking and sight seeing). It is also great for just relaxing. It is a very small town with many unique stores to browse through. Several small restaurants, candy stores, souvenier stores, a video arcade, go karts, bike and very mini car rentals, a chair lift ride, a community center that offers activities for children of all ages. It also has a small grocery store that probably has everything you need. It is more expensive than your Smith's or albertsons, but they are well below your local 7-11's. The town is small enough to walk and see everything in a few hours. Red River also has motorcycle rallies, music in the park and various festivals in the summer. If you have a day to spend do the Enchanted Circle which goes thru Taos (see Taos Pueblo and the Plaza), Angel Fire -
(see the Vietnam Memorial - this is a do not miss), it also passes thru Eagle's Nest and back to Red River. Another day trip would be Cimmaron, NM - (See a jail from 1846 & The Haunted St. James Hotel). Cimmeron is smaller than Red River. The Resort only has a jacuzzi and an outdoor Grill. They have 1 computer you can use, and they rent movies. The Units are very large and have fireplaces, a huge patio that overlooks the ski slope and a staff that will go out of its way for you. and a small river. If you are not an outdoors man, it is a great relaxing week or weekend getaway. We had 11 inches of snow while we were there. It was beautiful. We were also here on Labor Day Weekend. Labor Day ends most of the summer activities in Red River,
