Town: Situated close to Castle Bolton, Leyburn and the famous Aysgarth Falls is the picturesque Dales village of Redmire. Located along the Wensleydale Railway, which runs various steam trains during the summer, the settlement is also within easy reach of Castle Bolton, one of the best preserved medieval castles in Yorkshire and dating back to 1378. Much of the construction, composed of towers set around a rectangular courtyard, survived orders to destroy the famous castles of Yorkshire issued by Parliament during the Civil War. Carperby is close by too, and was an important centre for the Quaker movement and the largest building today is the classically styled Friends Meeting House, which overlooks the market cross and village green. Redmire itself is home to a traditional pub, which serves good food whilst there is an excellent range of amenities, shops and attractions in the nearby market town of Leyburn.

This was a pretty cottage in a lovely village with a friendly and cosy pub 2 mins away. We enjoyed our stay but it was not without some frustrations. We had some problems finding the cottage initially as there was no sign at all saying Manor House Barn anywhere. The bed was incredibly hard and we were disappointed that we could not get the fire to work properly. However on the whole we had a good time and had some wonderful walks nearby.
had a very restful holiday

This was a lovely cottage that was very clean, in a lovely part of Yorkshire. The only aspect we did not like was being asked to strip the beds at he end of our stay. The televison was also on its last legs.

The cottage was lovely,it is modern, spacious and well equipped.
The garden was bare with only a lawn & small patio area.
Sadly there is a working Dairy farm imediately behind the garden wall, the smell was horrendous to say the least, however, it never permeated the cottage & didn't spoil our stay as we were out & about every day.

We found the Manor House Barn to be very comfortable for 2 to 4 people, clean, well positioned in a very attractive village and wonderful scenery all around the area.

the plus points were its spacious, clean, and very peacefully located, great for touring or walking in the area, great pub just
round the corner. down side it was difficult to locate and no signage on the building or gate, and only complaint with the interior was the double bed was very very firm!
A great base for a visit to the dales, a truly wonderful barn

A great base for a visit to the dales, a truly wonderful barn. A very homely feel, we settled in very quickly and found our time in the barn just as pleasant as the time spent exploring the surrounding area.
Good compfortable stay
