Lancaster, PALacking in amenities, parking, cleanliness
Left on 09/10/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Before I express what disappointed us about this property, let me list its attributes and why we chose it: it has an elevator which was handicap accessible, and the rental is only a block from the beach. It has a nice kitchen, and pleasant decor.
Between having to wear flip-flops in the shower which was so filthy I dreaded having to use it, and hauling laundry from the third floor to the first to use a coin-operated washer (which, by the way, only uses powder detergent, which we didn't know) I felt more like I was in college than on a vacation with this rental. What turned us off from the beginning was the dirtiness of the place, and not just end-of-season, wear-and-tear grime (like the blinds being filthy) - but long-term problems that were causing odors. The main bath was simply disgusting, and even after I personally cleaned the floor and fixtures and my husband scrubbed the shower, we still couldn't rid the stench, which probably meant drain issues.
There is no internet in this rental! Very inconvenient for a week's stay (and we couldn't pick up an unsecured line, which our realtor suggested we might do). All the windows in the bedroom we had were broken/inoperable so we couldn't get any ocean breezes. There is no central air, and the a/c units are positioned in such a way that we got blasted all night long, resulting in always being too cold or too hot. Only one of the bedrooms had a television - again, maybe not an issue for some, but my husband loves to relax and watch baseball as part of his vacation and it's something that's been standard in every other rental.
Finally, the parking is terrible. There is only one space (so for an extended family or more than one family coming, they must buy parking passes and park remotely, away from metered parking, which is what we had to do). The garage itself doesn't fit a van we were warned, but the 6'4" high beams didn't clear our mid-sized SUV either so we had to back out of the entrance the one time we used our car all week (it was too treacherous to try that again, so we didn't).
This is not the worst place we've stayed, but at Rehoboth it was. And it isn't awful, but just not worth the amount we paid in regards to being outdated and impractical in many ways. -

Fredericksburg, VAGreat Rehoboth Beach Rental
Left on 01/12/2012 for a stay in July 2011
We love Rehoboth Beach and this rental was the ultimate best. Location is perfect and the three bedrooms plus a pull out couch was very spacious and accomodated out group perfectly. Very clean and comfortable! If you are looking for a place look no further! The agent Harold at Coldwell Banker Rehoboth was so wonderful to deal with - you just can't go wrong!
