Coast / Beach : a long sandy beach can be found at approx 5 kilometers with local bars & restaurants. Water sports are available in the summer months. However there are many beautiful beaches all over the island catering all needs - busy, secluded, whatever you are looking for, you won't have far to go.
Travel : the holiday accommodation is located on the road to the village of Aghios Dimitrios in a peaceful and beautiful countryside area. Rethymnon with it's pretty, often vibrant Venetian port and old town is approx 12km away; offering bus services to Heraklion / Knossos, Chania, Samaria gorge, all roughly an hour away. Lake Kourna is about 20 minutes away and is well worth a visit. Arkadi monastery, well known for it's history is a short drive away.
Distance: the vacation house is approx at the same distance from both the airports of Heraklion & Chania - about 75 km.The port of Rethymnon is 12 km approx where there are ferries to the mainland of Greece and in the summer to Santorini. The villa is situated at a good location to rest and to discover the island of Crete with a short drive to the north highway which is the principal get a way for your excursions.
Shopping facilities for everyday's necessities can be found at the neighboring village of Pigi at a walking distance of 300 meter providing butcher, baker and a grocery shop, tavern and internet cafe. Larger supermarkets, can be found on your way to the beach resort "Platanes" at a distance of 4, 5 km, offering an elaborated tourist infrastructure of restaurants, cafes, tourist shops, etc... Summer night clubs and bars are concentrated along the Platanes beach road. Taverns serving typical fresh Cretan dishes can be found on the way to Arkadi at a short distance offering good local quality for price value.

On-line booking was very easy - Denise met us at the main road and guided us to the villa - she gave us a very thorough briefing and made several good suggestions for days out exploring the central part of the island. The location was excellent - off the beaten track in a quiet location yet only a short distance from the main routes to the most important sites on Crete. You do need a car though as there is very little in walking distance. Accommodation was good for two but may be a bit cramped for four. Satellite TV had hundreds of Middle Eastern channels but only BBC news. Wifi worked well most of the time. Only drawback was the pool which in april was in the shade for most of the day so did not get warm enough to swim - the other villas had pools which were not in the shade.

Villa "Ismini" offers an interior living surface of 100 square meters divided over 2 floors. The ground floor consists of a full equipped kitchen, dining area with table for 6 persons, sitting area with sofas for 5 persons and a bathroom/shower. The first floor offers 2 bedrooms for 4 persons and a spacious bathroom. The holiday home operates with a Greek National Tourism Organization license and responds fully to the standards set for a convenient vacation rental for 4/ 5 persons. An evaluation that the villa could be “a bit cramped for 4 persons” reflects your personal demands as previous guests commented, in various reviews, on the generous and spacious size of the holiday house. In the region the "Hotbird" satellite connection is the best choice for news channels and local favorite programs for our international clientele. Our guests can choose between 600 channels like TV5, BVN, RAI, RTL,ZDF, CNN and due to our location on the island of Crete also a wide variety for Middle East channels is included in the selection. The first 2 weeks of April 2013 we had sunny and cloudy days. Normally pools are operational from 15 April on, but I had filled the pool just before your arrival so you could enjoy the facility, weather conditions allowing. The position of the sun varies throughout the season and a part of the pool can be shady at a specific time, much appreciated during hot summer periods. Superb villa in a quiet village just 15 minutes from the town of Rethymnon. Owner of the villa was fantastic, and gave us some great recommendations for our stay. Hire car is necessary but definitely worth it for the peaceful location and allows you to head off and explore the island. Would thoroughly recommend to couples, families or groups of friends alike. Would definitely go back

Goede afspraak inverband het ophaalpunt onderwegen.
Zeer hartelijke ontvangst met veel uitgebreide informatie over de streek, de plaatselijke tavernes en bezienwaardigheden.
Dit zijn gewoon luxe prachtwoningen met alle confort en rust tussen twee authentieke dorpjes met hun vriendelijke bewoners.
Meer is er niet nodig voor een ontspannen verlof, je zoekt zelf het uitgaansleven en de drukte verderop op. -

I chose Crete for a week this year with my 12 y/o daughter and we had a wonderful time. The villa is ideally situated for access to many areas. These nice villas have their own small pool and are well kept with air conditioning (you need that in the summer!). Nice views of olive fields and the sea about 3km away. Good value. Good location and the owner cared enough to make sure everything was OK and we had good tips where to shop, park, eat, etc. You do need a hire car for this place but that's the best way to see the area anyway. Go online to find the best hire car deal which will be half the price of standard airport rental price. Cars will meet you at airport. oh ... If you like your home cooked food buy your meat in butcher not supermarket!

Met onze zoon van 15 zijn we een week in de villa geweest en we hebben van t begin tot t eind genoten!
Het huis was schoon en van alle gemakken voorzien. Er werd ruim de tijd en moeite genomen om tips voor uitstapjes, eten, strandjes te geven.
t Zwembad was heerlijk en werd goed schoongehouden.
Al met al vonden we t jammer om weer naar huis te gaan! We hopen nog een keer terug te komen! -

We've been self-catering for years in Europe and North america and this is one of the nicest properties we've ever stayed in. A private house with a small private pool, full kitchen, beautifully decorated in a small village a few km from Retyhmno, close enough to the main highway to go anywhere on Crete and but away from the touristy crowds. Denise, the propriator, gave excellant directions and met us at the highway exit. Also - she has a secure credit card payment on the internet, sparing the necessity of a bank transfer.

Great villa's.
You need a car because by foot the shops and the touristique area is too far. Also to go to the beach, you need a car. But offcourse you have your own swimming-pool.
But everything you need, you can find in the villa.

Very nice house, in a perfekt area, where you can find everthing you want.
In 10 minutes you are on the beach and also in the centre of platanes.
Your hostess is also the owner, she knows really everything about the area and gives you all kinds of tips.
Mountains, see, beach and great greek food makes your holiday onforgetable.
