A beautiful home with very positive energy

Pics cant touch how magnificent this home is. Inlaw setup was a real bonus. Lucky us had just enough snow to turn it into a winter wonderland. The beams are awe inspiring. The use of natural wood kept your attention. The home was comfy without cold spots and noisy fans. Everyone is still talking about our stay. Will be back. Needs work on living room a/V More...

Very dissappointing

This house needs a lot of repairs and fixing up. There were 9+ lightbulbs out, had to wash most of the dishes before they were used, a kitchen cabinet door was missing, lots of cobwebs and the towels were so new the tags had not been removed therefore had not even been washed. We had to buy our own toilet paper and paper towels. The Vrbo picture is great and the view is spectacular but not worth the money. More...

Manager Response to Sue

When our guests check in we ask them to please report any issues they have when arrive at the home. We are happy to send out maintenance or housekeeping right away to handle any complaints our guests have. Unfortunately this complaint was mentioned at check out. We sent our housekeeper out immediately to perform a deep clean of the home and replace all light bulbs as needed.

Excellent location!!! Needs maintenance...

Just got back from Lake Tahoe-stayed for 5 days.We were a group of 6 adults and 4 kids. The location is a+ excellent, close to Camp Richardson but on a private/gated road next to some really beautiful homes. The house has some nice-unobstructed views of the lake.Has a private boat dock. There are three bedrooms in the main house and one semi-finished room in the detached in-law unit (it is half-way up the hill and on the underside of the garage)
Now the negatives. The surrounding homes have well manicured gardens and landscaping while this house looks like a home being shortsold or foreclosed. It has no landscaping, the grounds have weeds growing everywhere. The house was extremely dirty, dusty and not cleaned or even opened in a long time. The house had a musty odor when we first entered.A couple of the kids in our party suffer from severe dust/dander allergies and I had inquired with the rental agency about the cleanliness of the property, I was told that the property is booked solid for the entire month and it gets cleaned every time. That cannot be true as there was dust on the dining table, counters and floors and cobwebs on the deck chairs and tables. Moreover, every window in the house had cobwebs between the bug screens and the glass. This was a huge issue with us as we had some very miserable children amongst us,and all because the rental agent chose to lie to us.This is also not right because we paid an exorbitant amount to clean the property but we did not get a clean property. No toilet paper in two of the three bathrooms and no paper towels in the kitchen. There is no wifi- internet access in the house. The house is not suitable for seniors/disabled as There are several flights of steep stairs from the street level to the main house. There were remnants of old charred firewood from the last renters which was not cleared. The In-law unit has a very dark-windowless bedroom with a half inflated airmattress and a frameless mattress and boxspring on the floor. Ill-prepared for guests

When we stayed here recently, the power went out. This is no fault of the owners or the rental company. However, when we spoke to the neighbors, they told us that this happens quite often in the winter. There were no instructions or supplies for such an event -- no candles, flashlights/batteries, firewood for heat, generator (which most of the neighbors have for just such an emergency). We called the rental company, and their response essentially was, "too bad." There should have been a set of emergency supplies in the garage. We ended up running around in the snow trying to buy these supplies from cleaned out stores.
If the situation had been different -- no snow, or as rental that was ready for it -- we would have had a much more positive experience. Otherwise, the house was pretty much as advertised. More...

The entire Lake Tahoe area suffered severe power outages due to a major snow storm. 10,000 customers were without power. The outages in some cases lasted 48-72 hours before power was reestablished. This type of disaster has not occured in this area in over 10 years. The guests were told that they would be reimbursed for the costs of any emergency supplies they might have needed during their stay.
