We had the added pleasure of viewing whales passing in front of our condo and one night or early am (it was still dark) we were awakened by a series of slapping sounds and obvious whales blowing air/water as they passed very close to shore. It was cool!

Easy access to "water"
Since this is on the main floor a simple walk out the slider to the lava coastline. The "beach" is not anything you can use here since it is nonexistant but a short drive away.
