| Wow, we loved it all. From the easy reservations with Great Vacation Retreats, to the humpback whales breaching and dolphins leaping offshore. Whaler's Cove #212 is spacious, clean, well maintained and beautifully furnished. We immediately felt at home and yet the stunning view was a constant reminder to us that we were in paradise. We expected Thanksgiving week to feel busy with holiday travelers but W.C. seemed quiet and private and we were often the only ones in the pool area. And where else can you walk down a short flight of stairs and see 7 sea turtles sunning on the rocks a few feet away or slip on mask and fins and snorkel with them out through the bay! We just can't think of anything that wasn't top notch. Well the pool water temperature could have been a few degrees warmer but the hot tub was glorious (there it is again). No problem, the ocean water felt fabulous! You'll love Whaler's Cove, we certainly did. |

My personal tips:
Best dinner venue in South Kauai
While we've had some very nice meals at local restaurants, our favorite dinner is grilled steak and veggies with a mai tai on the lanai. Whaler's Cove has poolside gas grills with a phenomenal view themselves and grade AAA steaks are available at the Big Save market in Koloa. This is fine dining at a very reasonable price!
