What A Joke |

| I reported how dissatisfied I was with our stay at this property to Carolina Mornings within two weeks of our return. To date there has been no response except for these automated survey requests. The property has the following issues: tiny TV that sits far across the room downstairs, slightly larger one with no service upstairs; stains on the carpet in the MBR, a pet odor, no firewood, no bar soap, unclean towels on the rack, gas log fireplace upstairs does not work, stereo is a tiny pieced together system in the kitchen, driveway is impossible to back out of without help, busy road just on the other side of the kitchen & dining area windows, and we're fairly sure we heard something scurrying around underneath the bedroom chest at night. Not to mention getting a call from the rental office on our last morning there to tell us that there was a crew on their way to replace the washing machine by 10 AM so we had to throw everything in the car and leave without breakfast. Worst vacation rental ever. |

Dear Ernie,
Thank you for reviewing Avalon Highland Chalet. We truly apologize that your stay wasn't all that you had dreamed for your vacation. We remember speaking with you about these issues. We do wish we had spoken with you during your stay and not after, so that we could have addressed the issues during your time with us.
Since we spoke with you Avalon has been completely repainted and has all new carpet. We thank you for being the catalyst for this issue.
It would have been fantastic had you called us about the log fireplace, because we could have walked you through lighting the pilot light. Also, when you ran out of firewood a quick call would have produced more.
Also, we found out later that the previous guests had switched the small TV to upstairs and the larger TV to downstairs and had not returned them to their original positions. We would have been happy to change them back for you and bring a fresh load of towels and bar soap, had we known there was an issue.
These inconveniences are not a standard practice for us. It is our policy to make sure the vacation rentals are cleaned and properly outfitted before our guests arrive. We truly do depend on the guest to let us know if something is awry, so we can attend to it ASAP. Our customer service and attention to detail is known to be of very high-quality and we are known to be very quick with any reported issues.
As for the road, the driveway is very steep indeed, but it is only a neighborhood road, not a busy street. It is sometimes challenging for guests when they arrive in the mountains and see curvy roads and steep driveways; of course, this is the nature of a retreat nestled in the mountains.
We are truly apologetic about the new washer arriving a little before check out time at 11am. It did arrive a bit early from the company that was delivering it. Please note that they waited patiently outside until your departure.
Most everything could have been taken care of with a quick call to us. We do hope that our guests feel comfortable enough to let us know when they need something. We are happy to provide! |

What A Joke Find another place to rent from another agency. This was our worst vacation rental property ever and Carolina Mornings is completely unresponsive.
