Advanced Review for Lake Effect - Holiday Vacation Rentals   Hideaway retreat! Reviewed by: Rob S. Reviewed on: 08/25/2008 for their stay in 08/2008 This home was the perfect respite from the big city for our family. It is located a few miles north of Harbor Springs on the Lake Michigan. There is beach access were you can walk for miles. Although the beach is rocky, you can walk twenty minutes north for sand beaches where you can swim. You hear the waves from the master bedroom and bath which sound like the ocean. The master bath is incredible with steam shower and giant jacuzzi tub. There is a wonderful kitchen and a big deck for entertaining. What I liked least about this accommodation: Distance from town I selected this accommodation because of: Beach/Sun, Outdoor/Adventure   My personal tips: Walks I would walk north along the beach for an hour each morning with my infant in a backpack. We would only see a few people so it was very much like being in nature. There were bugs before sunrise so be prepared but if you keep moving you are fine. I also wore some high boots, especially for the walk south through the grass.
