Beautiful and comfortable for small group, centrally located

Kapaa is a quiet little "locals" town and is not for someone who wants to be pampered and catered to. The locals are very pleasant and friendly, but they are not there to "serve" tourists.

This condo was perfect for us! Everyone had their own bathroom, and the common areas were spacious and comfortable. The huge sliding glass doors to the lanai made the living room feel even bigger and the small dipping pool was perfect for cooling off.

We were able to walk and bicycle to nearby stores, shopping and restaurants. Tiki Taco has the best fresh-caught fish tacos! Hukilau Lanai (just a short drive away) serves almost all locally grown (or caught) food. We had a fabulous dinner there!

This condo is located at the start of a nice 4-5 mile bike trail that meanders up the coastline. Just out the back gate, there is a locals beach that although isn't great for swimming, is very nice to walk on. .

One drawback is that the chickens in the alley directly below the Master Bedroom window start crowing and clucking around 2 am. While the crowing roosters are just part of the island, these are really loud!! The window on the opposite side of the bedroom looks directly out to the front door so there isn't much privacy when it is open. We can't sleep with earplugs, but if you can, I highly recommend them.

The other drawback is that the master bathroom is really tiny and cramped, and is not good for two people. There is a spa tub in front of the bathroom door that could be ripped out and replaced with a nice double-sink vanity! It would make a world of difference so I hope the owners consider it.

Overall, I would definitely stay there again! Just remember in Hawaii, some patience, respect to the locals, and a smile will go a long way.
