I arrived approximately 45 minutes before check-in. I parked on the street in front of the house to get me Daughter, Pregnant Wife and Dog out of the car after a long drive. One of OBX Blue's staff was at the house. He invited me in, said he left the door open.

The staff member took me to the pool. The pool area looked as though it had not been opened for the year. And the pool had NO water in it!

I contacted the OBX Blue office, explained to the woman on the phone the situation. She then proceeded to explain to me the "Early Check-In Fee". This is not the response I expected!

I explained to her that I was not checking in early, a staff member approached me and invited us in.

In an attempt to quickly fill the pool, the pool staff hi-jacked two of the neighbors garden hoses. One neighbor was fine w/this. The other was NOT.

The neighbor who was not fine w/this repeatedly came over to the house demanding to know who was "Stealing" his water. I contacted the OBX Blue office about the harrassment I was receiving as a result of their actions.

The pool was usable the next day.

This was not a good way to start a vacation. But, the house is very nice.

The pool looses sun around 4pm, so no Sunsets poolside. The televisions are small & dated (One LCD in the basement).

I will not rent this house again for the simple reason that the pool does not have sun late in the day.

We had a wonderful stay at this vacation house. The house was even nicer than we anticipated. We loved the sound access. We have never stayed on the sound side before found it to be a wonderful kid destination.

Great house with pool, elevator, game room, and hot tub. Can walk or bike to Duck restaurants or the beach, or go crabbing or kayaking in the sound.

The only negative thing we can say is that the house could use a larger tv in the great room -- maybe a nice flatscreen over the fireplace?

Overall, enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Excellent home. Very nicely finished and furnished. Elevator and wide doors perfect for handicap persons. Dock on sound very nice. At this level of home I had some small issues that we would have expected to have been taken care of or addressed. Any one by itself no big deal but all added up they are an issue. For example, older tv's, very small, no battery's in half the remotes. Bamboo floors had not been cleaned. Pool patio and porches had not been swept off. Dishwasher kept tripping gfci outlet in kitchen. Trash cans smelled very bad, needed a good cleaning. Multiple light bulbs out. Realize this could have been addressed when we arrived, but by then we were settled in. Even w/these minor issues still highly recommend and we would gladly return.

We had younger people and older people with us along with our pet. The house was clean and comfortable and the elevator sure came in handy - not only to take our older family members upstairs, but to take luggage and groceries up to the top floor too.

In addition, the pool was large and I loved how it was integrated into the porch of the house. It was also great to be within walking distance of the shops and restaurants in Duck.

We will definitely rent it again next summer.

We absolutely loved the house. We really didn't leave much, with the
pool, the game room, the hot tub, huge decks... it just wasn't
necessary. When we did leave, it was so nice being as close as we
were to Duck Village, and it was a pretty nice walk to the beach. It
was hard to say goodbye to such a nice house, in such a great
location!!!
