Great Beach Vacation |

| We spent 2 weeks at this home in late September/early October. The home is spacious and comfortable with outstanding views and sunny deck on the top floor. We were delighted to find bikes under the house so we didn't have to rent any, and enjoyed daily rides (3 miles to "downtown" Duck) for shopping or coffee and pastry at the bookstore. Although you could easily fit a large family, it was quite comfortable for 2 adults and a dog. The kitchen is large and reasonably well-equipped. We had a great time and would definitely go again. |

Amazing View of the Ocean |

We loved the layout of the home, with an entire wall of windows
directly on to the dune and the ocean. The boardwalk to the
beach was really convenient, especially with two dogs.
I felt very at home in this house. I wish the owners had gone the
small distance to make the home perfect - new lamps are
needed in the bedrooms, neutral paint would be a better choice
in one of the bathrooms. More/newer deck furniture would be
appreciated. |

| We had a wonderful stay at Sentimental Journey this past Sept. The house was very comfortable and well-laid out for us, our two small children, and our dog. Being just steps from the beach was great with our young children - no big roads to cross, less distance to haul stuff, and easy to come and go for naps, more snacks, etc. Overall, a great beach house for reasonable rental prices. |

The home is "ok", but I would not rent it again. To call the kitchen 'gourmet' as in a previous add, is not even accurate.
The home is reasonably comfortable, but needs a thorough updating. Beds were not comfortable and quite noisy, but furniture upstairs was fine.
Too many loose and worn deck boards for my liking.
The home is obviously kept as a 'rental-only' type of house and it shows. Screens were pretty filthy and a few small things like that.
The best thing going for it is location. That area of Duck is just perfect, and with an updating I would look at the home again, but you can do better in that immediate area.
Of note, I contacted the owner to rent the property after seeing it on a website.
The owner indicated that I would save a hundred bucks or so if I worked through the rental company. This is not accurate as the rental company dinged us a service fee. |

This home is an extremely economical oceanfront home, and we emphasize the location of this property throughout our advertising. Respectfully, I belive you may be mistaken about the kitchen being represented as "gourmet' in our marketing. It is fully equipped, but we believe this home to be a very popular and basic rental home.
Most of our guests in this home are extremely pleased with the product and it continues to be the most popular rental home in our program.
We again apologize that the home was not up to your expectations.

Neeed to update garbage and recycling information posted in kitchen.
Your cleaning staff needs to clean small
bathroom on 2nd floor better, also open blinds and clean dead bugs off window sills.

| This was the 2nd time I stayed at this property and while the location and views are excellent, the dishes and glasses the second time were not up to the price I was paying for the week. Only 4 wine glasses, with 2 of them matching; few juice glasses with only a couple matching; same with glasses for water. Supplying minimal supplies for cleaning would be nice (dish detergent, sponge/scrubber, window washing fluid due to film from ocean spray). The main irriration was the lack of decent dishes and glassware though. I did submit comments to Outer Banks Blue when I left also. |

Every May Bill and I and our daughter's family head to Sentimental Journey.
We look forward to this week for months and when we get there, we put down oour stuff and just wonder at the beauty of the wide view of the ocean for awhile. Then we settle into a little paradise. I cannot say more...we go home feeling new. |

From the moment we stepped onto the large open decks with a hammock and swing we knew it was going to be the cozy week at the beach we had hoped for. The house has an excellent open floor plan making it easy for the cook to always stay involved with the action of the dining and family room. We loved being able to easily seat 10 at the dinner table and enjoy the view of the ocean every evening.
All of the wood features in the home add such feel of being in a cottage. We made good use of the gas grill with dinner and the charcoal grill was for perfect for smores at night.
Duck was a extremely dog friendly beach and we look forward to returning again next year! |

Our extended family has taken beach vacations for the past 7 years. This house was perfect for such a large group. The views are beautiful (we saw dolphins every day!) and there was plenty of space (inside and out) for our large family.
The key-less entry was perfect - no hassle of waiting in line at a rental agency! |
