Spectacular View, The place needs a good cleaning

Even though the condo needs updating I would like to let you know about some of the problems we did have with the condo.

There were ants in the living room. We could not leave our drinks or any other food item on the tables because of the all the ants. We were told in a review that the ants were in the kitchen but they were not. They were in the living room.

The place smelled like cigarette smoke when we walked in each time we were out. So someone had been smoking, we all are nonsmokers.

The master bathroom has mold growing at the base of the tub. The whole place was not cleaned before we arrived. There were dead bugs on the carpets in the master bath and other bath. The glass top dining table had stains on the top and fingerprints everywhere. Your cleaning people don't do a good job.

I did not appreciate seeing signs saying do not use the closet doors. They were off the hinges and noone seemed to mind that, except us. Also, the door covering the hot water heater is nonexistent. What a nice thing to see each day.

In one of my inquiries I asked if there were pillows on the beds, well there were ones with stains, blood and some other discolored stains. This is disgusting. We had to go into Rehoboth and purchase pillows. Not what I wanted to do at 10 at night.

In the master bath the handle in the tub is broken and I almost fell out of the tub because it came out of the wall when I used it. More...

For 2012 - New flooring, new bathroom vanity's, new mounted flat screen TV in the livingroom, new livingroom furniture, new kitchen appliances and a new matress in the master bedroom. All other repairs have been made. (The door was removed when the new carpet was installed and they forgot to put the door back on - it's there now and we are sorry for that mishap.)

Aging space

We didn't spent much time there. We really wanted to be oceanside but found it too expensive. The place itself was aging, ants, appliances, especially the stove did not work very well. The grounds and activities were very good except we wanted to be beachside. Don't think we will return. More...

Nice location, crusty condo

The location great the condo crusty! The cabinet, and furniture is anciet, and the ants under the sink come out as soon as you get there.
Sorry Mr owner, I know youre a nice guy, but yuck!

Thanks to Wilgus for bringing the ant traps!
No Internet connection either.
Call me when you remodel the bathrooms, kitchen and deck, and order new furniture.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I don't know if I would describe the unit as "crusty". The unit is very clean and neat and everything is matching. It is dated as far as style, but is perfectly functional. As for ants, hmmm...welcome to the beach! Ants love our sandy soil, each unit is sprayed twice a season, but it seems that during very dry summers the ants are always worse. We do our best to stay on top of the "ants".

5007 brighton trail bethany beach

We enjoyed the community and location very much but the unit was disappointing. The bathrooms and kitchen needs to be updated. The deck flooring is weathered, twisted and deteriorating. The most annoying thing was the ant problem. I've rented in Bethany Beach four times previous and never encounted pests and/or ants. More...

Thank you for the feedback. This unit has never been a rental before this year and all comments are received by the owner. Sea Colony has a schedule for repairs on the exterior of the buildings and we spray for ants twice a year here at the beach. (Ants love our sandy soil). We apologize that the unit did not meet your expectations but we do allow guests to preview units in the booking months of October through April.
