Great house for family vacation Reviewed by: Augusta, GA Reviewed on: 07/15/2008 for their stay in 07/2008 Susan's Oasis is a great beach house...close to the pier and so close to the ocean. We loved just walking down the stairs onto the beach, or just sitting on the porch in the rockers listening to the waves and watching beach activity, and thunderstorms over the ocean.. The only flaw to the porch is that the cross railing is right at eye level when you are sitting down, and obstructs your view. The kitchen is well equipped and the round table is spacious. Beds are comfortable and having 4 bathrooms was great. I recommend bringing your own linens and saving $$. We always do that. We liked Garden City Beach so much better than Myrtle or North Myrtle Beach. Traffic on Hwy. #17, both Bus. and Bypass was horrendous when we tried to go to places up there. So we decided to eat close by and shop close by. Gulfstream Cafe is excellent as well as Prosser's BBQ (which serves down home Southern food...not just BBQ), and Drunken Jack's were our favorites. Kroger at the corner of Atlantic Ave. and Bus. 17 has everything you need for cooking at home. So convenient, without having to go out into traffic.
