The unit was great and allowed us to walk everywhere in downtown
Our group truly enjoyed the unit. A bit of street noise from the Simonton side of the building during the day - but at night we could sit on the patio and enjoy most of what Key West has to offer. More...

A Nearly Perfect Week
Great location, well maintained and comfortable condo, beautiful pool with great views of Dunal from the pool deck.
Small second bedroom a bit difficult for two couples rather than a family.
Problem with leaky dishwasher attended to promptly. More...

Great location in Key West but needs a little updating
The good news is that the location is the best in Key West - right in the middle of Duval so you can turn in one direction for the harbor and the other for the beach. We stayed with another couple in a 2bdrm condo called Duval Breeze and the condo itself is very spacious and comfortable (kitchen, dining area, frontroom, small bathroom and outside porch downstairs and two nice bedrooms upstairs, one with a balcony porch and each with it's own bathroom). The beds were also very comfortable. The condo complex is clean and the pool was great (not crowded and very refreshing). The security is awesome - you must have a key to get into the parking area and to get through the condo complex gates. The price was expensive but everything is during the winter months. Overall the at Home Key West personnel provided great customer service. The bad news was the condo does need a little updating (no wireless, 2nd bedroom bathroom door would not close, 2nd bedroom TV old and did not get many channels, many of the window blinds have broken slats, etc). Also, not very happy about the cleaning policy. Although we paid a cleaning fee upfront, we were obligated to clean thoroughly before we left (i.e. empty all garbage outside, clean the kitchen, even required to strip the beds and wash one set of sheets/towels before we left - and there better not be more than two dirty towels per person or you're in trouble!) We kept the condo very clean, buying paper plates, cups, etc but didn't feel we should have to spend so much time on our last day taking out garbage, stripping beds, and other cleaning - especially when we paid a cleaning fee. Lovely condo, comfy beds, noisy location but nicely-located on t
Duval Breeze is a well-furnished, clean condo. It has all the basic amenities we needed. The location is midway on the island, just steps off Duval. Terrific restaurants nearby. Exterior maintenance of the entire condo community needs attention. Pool is lovely but not heated, so we could not swim. Two beautiful parrots live next door, adding to the charm. Main negative is the noise from commercial vehicles early in the morning. Not an easy condo to sleep late. More...

Clean, Comfortable Stay
Our Key West stay at Duval Square was a success! Not only were the accommodations clean and comfortable, we were within a quick walk to anything we might need. There were gardening renovations going on while we were there and the workers were friendly and considerate. The staff at at Home made our arrival and departure quick and easy. More...

A perfect old town location without the noise of the party.
We parked the car in its protected space below the apartment and never moved it until we had to leave. This nice sized and well appointed 2 bed room apartment almost perfectly met our needs. It was within easy walking distance of every place we needed to visit from the 'Southern Most Point', Butterfly Museum and quiet restaurants in the south to Sloppy Joe's and the other bars and eateries of the north end of Duval Street. Location, location, location. More...

Be prepared to buy your own handsoap, toilet paper dish soap etc
The place was centrally located so we could walk to most places. Sleeping past 4am won't happen because of the roosters roaming free. All early morning (4am- 7am) long you will hear the roosters. A sound you don't sleep thru. Was very surprised at the least possble amount of hand soap, toilet paper etc. that they provide you with. You are required to buy everything right down to the toilet paper.

Delightful!
We (2 couples) were very pleased with this 2-bedroom, 2.5 bath condo. We stayed for 5 nights but wish we had booked it for a little longer. It was just the right size for us and the location was a special plus...we could walk to just about everything. We had expected WiFi but there was a DSL cable instead, so we could only connect 1 computer to the internet at a time. That didn't create a problem for us, but it may be helpful for others to know about. More...

Nice and clean but not very quiet
Stayed at Duval Breeze from 1/05 to 1/12/11. Nice place, clean and nicely furnished. This is a end unit, on second floor above a strip mall. There is approx 30 condos above the strip mall and a small pool (approx 14 x 28 x 4' pool. Pool is not heated. Good security, takes a key to get up on the second floor. These look like they are approx 10-15 years old, but kept up well. Out of the 30 condos, I seen that approx 6-8 are rental properties. Close to everything, nice sony faltscreen Tv's and cable. Sterao on main floor does work. Kitchen is nice, but limited on cookware. Nice balcony on main floor and small balcony off from master bedroom. Not much of a view, just a parking lot and other buildings. Walking distance to everything, although on south end of Duval. Never felt unsafe. There is a Papa Johns, Subway and CVS that backs up to the Condo Building. 3-4 restruants below hooked to strip mall. We ate at the Sushi resturant and it was very good. The down side is it is very noisy, I think the entire island is pretty noisy, especially the stupid roosters, but after 2-3 days you did not even notice them. I feel that the price was right and we were completely happy with the stay. More...

Great location!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. It is in a nice quiet location, although it is impossible to avoid the roosters. I think you hear them no matter where you stay! I suggest earplugs, if you are a light sleeper. Everywhere we went was in walking distance. The place does need a little fixing up but overall it was clean and comfortable! We would stay here again! A great place to spend a vacation!
Loved the Duval Breeze! Very light and airy space, very comfortable furniture and amenities. The only disappointment, was the lack of a stereo!! There was a dvd player that would not work, no way to hook up to the TV!! These things would have made our stay a bit more enjoyable. ( The description of the property stated that the unit had these features!) However, I would certainly stay there again! Great place! Can't wait to see improvements to the pool area! More...

nice location, clean
This condo is located within a 10 min walk of the fun on Duval St. We were there for a Poker Run weekend and the fun never stoped. The condo is very clean and well apointed with reserved parking etc. I did not use the pool. I would have liked to stay longer as there are one time fees that added up quickley for a two night stay. (reservation, cleaning, etc) I do plan to return next year and will strongly consider this unit again, it will depend on other rental pricing. More...

close to action, yet far enough away for privacy
Pro : Almost everything was within walking distance, food, sites,
entertainment, beaches. Found the best beach the day before we left,
bummer. We walked everywhere we went. Condo was decorated tastefully
and furniture was comfortable.
Con: I have never stayed anywhere that I had to supply toilet tissue and paper
towels. We had to strip our beds the day we left and leave laundry by utility
room. No house keeper for the week we were there, and had to call for wash
cloths twice before we got them (we had 2 for 4 people).
Overall: We would do it again.

Nice location
We spent a spring break week in this condo with our three young adult kids, ages 20 to 26. The location worked well, just off the Duval street corridor, but not right next to all the bars. Fort Zachary Taylor beach is more of a bike or car ride than a walk. The included parking space was a plus in this crowded town.
The condo itself was clean, beds comfortable, and the only issue was a noisy A/C that was hotter upstairs than down -- we just adjusted the thermostat at night. There is an excellent rooster population in the area, but they did not bother us.
If a pool is important to you, understand that it is tiny. Better for reading by. We are beach people, so we did not use it.
Your porch overlooks a parking lot, but the lot is relatively quiet, and the view is mainly of the adjacent renovated cigar building (Cuban style). Good eating is nearby; I recommend SalsaLoca on Duval if you like Mexican (eat out back under a deck umbrella).
Overall, recommended. More...

needs some work
My family and I rented 2 condos at Duval Square for a week earlier
this month. My parents and 2 others had vacationed at Duval
Square on 4 other occasions and had highly recommended this
community. They were disappointed however in this trip. All of the
exterior planting boxes were completely empty - I understand
there had been leaking and water damage and they were under
repair. The exterior tile floor was also in bad shape with lots of
missing tiles. Generally - this community needs a face lift.
The condo had a nice floorplan and was spacious, but the wood
floors were rotting in a number of places -looked like water
damage in kitchen.
We had to have an exterminator come during our visit to put out
traps for mice - one was caught and it was not pleasant having to
deal with disposing of him and wondering where his friends may be
hiding.
The master bath could have used a good scrubbing or maybe new
calk. There was mold in the tub and the sliding door leaked.
Because we had rented 2 condos - we could compare - The second
unit (#7) was in far better shape and was well cared for.
To end on a positive - The location of the building cant be beat -
but I wouldn't recommend paying full price for #30 - it has seen
way better days ! More...

Fantastic rental property
This property was very conveniently located, comfortable and clean. We did not rent a car and walked to many different places from the condo, i.e., Mallory Square, Louie's Backyard, Schooner's Wharf. There was also a nice, well-maintained pool available for our use -- I personally saw the pool maintenance guy come twice during the week we were there. The property is quiet, even though close to Duval (this condo is actually on the Simonton end of the condos) -- traffic noise never disturbed us. We were very pleased with the condo and would certainly rent it again. More...

KW '09
Just returned from our vacation in Key West and had a great time. The condo is exactly how the pictures look and how our rental contact described. The unit was a bit dirty so that was disappointing but overall it was nice with all the amenities. We did bring our own beach towels which I recommend for the pool. You couldn't beat the location right on Duval street. We didn't have a car but if you did bring one there was covered, secure parking for it. The unit was a little noisy in the morning from all of the outside traffic but that's to be expected with having an end unit. Overall, it was a great time.

Home away from Home
Very nice place to be, secluded neighborhood, spacious living area, well equipped kitchen. The bathroom attached to smaller bedroom is a bit small. I gave the place four stars because of some construction equipment left in the closets. If I decide to come to Key West this would be my place to stay.

vacation
Everything was ok,but we expected a better entrance to the property. We arrived after dark and the garage was dark and confusing. It took a while to gain entrance thru the door, the elevator was extremely hotand slow. The rooms air conditioning was not working very well and ponding water outside the door.

GREAT LOCATION
Great location right on Duval but out of the fray. Very nice retreat with plenty of room for 3 couples. The unit needs a little TLC, which I hear it is sceduled for, but you cannot beat it for the money. Very comfortable. Hope to stay there again year!

Beautiful
Had a great experience renting from At Home in Key West. Location was central to just about everything. Condo was comfortable after some trouble with the AC unit, but rental company was very quick to respond and had the problem fixed promptly. I would definitely stay here again and have no problems recommending location and rental company to others!
