This place was just what we hoped it would be.

I would recommend Island Spice to anyone. The place is set up with everything you need. Very clean and the location is about as good as you can get. Parking was available for only one car. The beds were very comfortable, although the pull out couch mattress was not. I was amazed at everything that was available at Spice Island. More...

Great Property!

This property worked out great for our family. Really enjoyed our stay. We had 6 adults and 2 toddlers, so our space needs were quite demanding. The patio is large and very useful right off the kitchen and living room. Our only complaint was that the pullout couch was not the most comfortable, however this is largely to be expected. Once we applied an additional feather comforter at night, it was a big help. Also of note, the separate staircases allowed for privacy between the two rooms. Lots of steps! More...

Island Spice is Paradise in Key West

I have been forever spoiled after staying at Island Spice. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Key West. This elegant home is beautifully decorated and eqipped with everything you could ever need during a vacation. The building itself is charming with the brick exterior and inviting back porch. The house was spotlessly clean and had every modern comfort one could need from internet to a Keurig coffeemaker. I also loved the location. You are a few minutes walk from Mallory Square, Duval Street, and amazing restaurants. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay a perfect escape in paradise. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to stay in your little piece of heaven!!! More...

great

we enjoyed the house. Our first night there the temperature in the house was 80 degrees. Attempted to set the temperature down on the thermostat but could only set to 74. There was no way around it. Contacted the emergency number. Told her it was cooling. We never received a phone call from the agency asking if problem was fixed. Received a phone call from agency stating someone coming over on Saturday to fix dryer. we were gone during day but dryer was not fixed in fact we had to hang clothes out to get dried. Other than these few problems, place was great. Can't get any better than the Truman annex. We will come back for sure. More...

Thank you for taking the time to review our home. We so pleased to know you enjoyed your stay. Regarding the dryer, the previous guest had mentioned the dryer issue and we worked in a "quick fix" before your arrival. We had a second thought about disturbing your visit on Saturday and decided to wait until your departure to repair it. We did not realize that you were having difficulty with it or would certainly have sent someone in right away. We apologize for the inconvenience it caused during your visit.

A week in paradise

We had just had the worst winter with snowfalls giving us over 100 inches of snow. We landed in key west to perfect weather and a beautiful condo. We've rented in the Foundry building before and found Island Spice to be quite exceptional. It was recently rennovated and is quite stunning with beautuful art and high quality furniture. Couches, chairs and beds were extremely comfortable.
The pool area had new furniture but the pool itself is too small for the many condos it supports. Renting from at
Home was even easier than in previous years. The staff
was great. We hope to rent again next year. More...

The Island Spice was a big part of a perfect vacation.

The Truman annex is such a beautiful complex, just a picture perfect setting. The Island Spice condo is an excellent location, within walking distance to everything, and so well laid out with the split bedrooms upstairs. It was a big part of making our vacation in Key West perfect. Thanks to the staff at "At Home In Key West" for guiding me to the Island Spice. More...

A quiet comfortable home in Key West

A quiet cofortable home in the prime area of Key West. The Truman annex is very convenient to Old Town and Duval Street. The home is exceptional, wonderful design, all the amentities, and very quiet and private. A bit pricey but well worth it. Working with at Home in Key West was effortless and very satisfying - they are professional and cooperative. More...

Excellent Experience

My wife and I had stayed in this unit before and traveled down for a long weekend with some friends. As expected it was another top notch experience. The beauty of this unit is it's proximity to the attractions of Key West while still being quiet and relaxing when you get back from a great day out. More...

At Home In Key West

The condo was extremely clean and had everything we needed. The only issue was the themostat ( we weren't sure how to lower the temperature and get it to stay there) so we just lowered it once in a while to where we felt comfortable. Close to everything but still quite enough to get away from all the hustle and bustle. We have been using at Home In Key West at least once a year for over fifteen years and we are never disapointed. Very nice

My family of four stayed at Island Spice for a week and we were very
comfortable. This was our first experience staying in Key West outside of a
luxury hotel and we were very pleased. The condo was clean and well stocked
with the essential supplies needed to make quick snacks and a pizza. We
figure that part of the whole experience of Key West is eating out so we didn't
spend a lot of time in the kitchen, but someone certainly could have. Our only
disappointment was the ceramic floors were a bit dirty and our bare feet were
proof of that. But, other than that everything was perfect. The linens were well
stocked and there is a washer & dryer in the room so we always had plenty of
towels. If you expect or need fresh linens and towels brought to you each day
(we certainly don't) then you may want to stay at the Hyatt. My family fends
for itself very well and we don't need cleaning services or fresh towels so
Island Spice was perfect for us! We will definitely stay there again. More...

Nice but not so nice!

Loction for rental was great. Short walk to see the sunset as well as all the happenings on Duval street. Downside was the community pool which accomodates only 7 people at once...gets rather cozy quickly, rather small for the number of condos it has to accomodate. Island Spice is for sale and realtor was bringing people through quite often which didn't allow for too much privacy. We were looking for a relaxing vacation that if we wanted to lounge in pj's all day we could, nap whenever and that just couldn't happen when people were coming through to tour the condo. Wish we would have known it was for sale ahead of time because we wouldn't have stayed here. More...

I didn't feel like I was on vacation.

I had great anticipation of our vacation in Key West. On arrival, I was immediately struck by how dark the house was. The patio was unkept with too many overgrown trees. Most of them dead. The entire downstairs of the unit was shrouded in darkness with inadequate lighting inside. There was not enough adequate comfortable furniture for relaxing inside or out. The linens were scarce. We had to go out and buy bath towels. Not exactly what I want to buy when on vacation. The bed linens were substandard. Not enough blankets and without a decent pillow a good night's sleep was nearly impossible. I will say the house was clean but the glasses in the cabinets smelled like a sour dish rag. One morning we woke up to hundreds of ants crawling all over the kitchen. There is no pantry for food so our groceries were all over the counter. I believe we paid a total of $3900. for the week. For that I could have stayed in a 5 star hotel. Oh, not having a grill is ridiculous. We went out and bought a small charcoal grill only to find out from the nosey neighbor that they are not allowed. Would have been nice if some rules had been posted. One final complaint, we actually had a call from a realtor. He wanted to show the house, suggesting we leave for 2 hours. I was on vacation for God's sake!!! I would never consider renting this home again. It was not worth the money!

Great Location

Great location - we didn't use our car until Thursday after arriving in Key West the previous Saturday. Felt very secure in the Truman Annex. Within a short walk of downtown Key West with more than enough places and activities to keep us busy for a large portion of the week. Saved us oodles of parking fees. Beds very comfortable.

Island Spice was wonderful !

We chose Island Spice based on the recommendation of the At Home In Key West rental agent and we were very pleased. The home is located in the Foundry Building of Truman Annex and the location is great, two blocks to Duval Street, about the same to Mallory Square, less to the cruise ship port. Fort Zachary Taylor State Park is walking distance; the swimming pool less than a block. A parking space was provided, not directly in front of the home but only a few spots away. The home is everything we needed, 2 1/2 baths, bedrooms on opposite ends of the upstairs which provided more privacy, laundry room, 3 TV's and high speed internet. The kitchen was adequately stocked, the dining area and living room comfortably furnished. There is a tropical but small gated courtyard with a patio table & chairs, although it was so hot we did not sit out. Everything about Island Spice was positive and we would definately stay there again and recommend it to our friends. More...

Great Location in Truman Annex

The first unit we were placed in had some plumbing issues. The real estate office quickly moved us to Island Spice, which was perfect for our family and in a great location, close to Mallory Square and Duval Street. The Island Spice unit was very nicely decorated and quite comfortable, a BBQ grill would make a nice addition. We will certainly stay here again.

Location, Location, Location

Stayed at Island Spice which is located in Truman Annex. We never used the car except to go to the grocery store and stock up for the week. Property was great for two couples as each have a bedroom and bath upstairs. The property looks as advertised with nice patio and everything was in working order. Only complaint would be that we did not have many towels or washclothes, so had to wash some during our stay. May have just been an oversight during our stay. Anyway, it is a good property, and I always stay in Truman because I love the location. The cruise ships dock right around the corner, and Mallory Square and Duval Street are steps away!
