truman annex was great
Staying in truman annex was wonderful. We parked the car and did not get back in it until we were ready to go home. We rented bikes and used them to go wherever we needed..includeing the grocery store. Everything is accessible from Truman annex. More...

Just what we expected
We have rented in Truman annex shipyard several times and love the location, thats what it is all about. If we visit Key West for less than a week we usually stay at the Pier House, for a week or longer Truman annex.
Small 2 bedroom one bath is good for couples, everything was clean and kitchen was equipped fine for our need. Two more people and it would be very tight.
Two things we would suggest, for quieter sleeping the Master bedroom should be in the back and there was no way to hook our Ipod to the antiquated stereo system there. We could have hooked it to the TV but did not bring the right adapter. Pretty minor stuff.
Nice outdoor space, whick is where we spent most of our time. More...

Great Vacation
We had a great stay at Key West Charming. Finding the office and collecting our keys on arrival was like a treasure hunt! We found the condo easily and it was just as pictured. Location was great for walking to resturants etc. We were vacationing with our 2 year old daughter, and so spent most of our time at the beach, but hung out at the condo most evening. The BBQ was not working, but we just used the stove, and there was a lack of trash bags and some other essentials which was a little inconvinient, but overall the amenities within the condo were great. The location was great, but Key West Charming needs updates.
We have stayed in the Shipyard more than once, and we have rented through at Home in Key West each and every time. The location is awesome, and while the price is high, everything on the island is high. My problems have more to do with the quality of some of the rental units. Key West Charming, our latest stay, has rock-hard beds, and the outdated cupboards are falling apart. We even saw a cockroach or two in the kitchen. In general, the unit was not overly clean, and we had to wash every dish before we used it just to feel comfortable. I spent part of the first night cleaning before the rest of our guests arrived. We had to buy toilet paper, paper towels, and scouring pads because there was not enough for a week's stay. In general, the whole place needs major updating if it is going to ask for that kind of fee. At Home in Key West should do a better job of rating these properties because they all are not equal. Nice garden condo in Old Town (Truman Annex)
Although it wasn't the unit we reserved, due to a damage problem in the site of our original reservation we were moved to this unit. When we checked in on a Saturday night no one informed of us the change or the reason for it. The unit met our basic needs but was not at the level of the outstanding place we had looked forward to. A small refund was made to our credit card in the amount of one night's stay. The neighbors were often loud with much entertaining on the adjacent patio. However, the location was perfect for access to the water, restaurants and sunsets.

Before the blizzards
Everything was as it should be. The unit was comfortable and perfectly suited
for the two of us It is also close to the pool. Overall the location close to the
main drag is excellent. There were plenty of towels - not that we use a lot. I
could not get the radio to work and it might be checked.
Note - We were the last plane into BWI before it was closed for the blizzard
when we came home.

The Nearly Perfect Week in Key West
We arrived during non-business hours but had no trouble what-so-ever finding our key and getting to Truman Annex. I would say, had there not been a guard on duty at the gate leading to the Taylor Park, we would have had difficulty getting the code and entering our townhome, and there were times while we were on the island that the gate house was not manned. I am aware there may be something in place for these circumstances, but felt it was worth mentioning.
The townhouse itself was absolutely amazing. It was clean and well equiped with necessities. The complex was beautiful and the location was as near
perfect as I could have wanted. I was making these reservations having never been to or knowing anything about Key West, so I was an easy target for the accomodations to not be nearly as good as represented.
The only other suggestion I might make is maybe having information available in the townhome upon arriving with location of the trash dumpster and swimming pool. If this was in the information sent with confirmations, we missed it and I apologize.
I titled my review "nearly perfect" because the weather was not as cooperative as everything else, but I don't think the company can be held responsible for that.
I would like to thank you for a wonderful experience and, given the chance, we'll be back!

Wonderful
We had a wonderful stay and we would recommend the place to everyone. 2 blocks from Duval and 2 blocks to the beach. What more could you ask for?! The staff at :At home in the keys" is so nice and helpful. We will be back next summer!!

Key West Vacation
The condo location is in Old Town Key West, just 2 blocks from Duval Street and all the action but still quiet for the ability to retreat. We flew in to Ft.Lauderdale and drove down (I would fly in to Key West next time).
Scooter rentals are a good idea as there is limited parking on the island. We walked quite a bit right from the condo and sometimes took a cab.
The condo was clean and had everything you need. The mattress in the master bedroom (queen)was uncomfortable ( I woke up frequently during the night). The two twin beds in the second bedroom were okay by my 15 year old's standards.
The condo itself is on the smaller side so if you have more than 2 adults and 2 kids, it would be too small.
We would most likely stay there again as it is great being close to Duval Street. More...

Charming Indeed
My husband and I and our friends from Canada have stayed in Key West many times and after having rented homes outside Old Town decided to try the Truman Annex to enjoy the proximity to restaurants and shops. We rented this tidy, well-maintained property and three of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Ground-floor and back lane access with a cozy back yard, well-equiped kitchen and all amenities, including a very nice pool, rounded out an excellent stay. A more lounge-friendly living room armchair or love-seat would have been a welcome addition. And with one bathroom guests must be patient and accommodating, but overall the property was just fine.
