The property provided the perfect solution for our group. We needed private sleeping /bathroom accommodations for 4 couples as well as common areas for the entire group. The layout was remarkable. The 3 private decks off the main bedrooms were a nice touch. The kitchen spilled out to the outdoor area which included a pool, hot tub, lounge, outdoor eating area, grill, private laundry facility and master bedroom & bath off the pool. And...the tropical vegetation surrounding the property was truly awesome. The house exceeded all expectations!

The location was directly in the middle of Key West so we were close to everything and anything. Our group rented bikes for the week. This made the trip exceptionally fun as we were no more than 5 minutes from any destination. The area was safe, the property was clean and the "At Home" staff was wonderful. Every request was met and the "can do" attitude was refreshing.

The best indicator is the, "would you return" question and all responses from our group are a resounding Yes!! More...

This is the 2nd time that my family and I have rented the Victoria House located at 806 Truman avenue in Key West, and unfortunately we noticed an obvious drop in the quality of this rental house.

First, the positives. Victoria House is a perfect rental for a large extended family with five bedrooms, five full baths and two 1/2 baths. The location on Truman avenue is close to Duval Street, but far enough away to avoid most of the nightlife noise. Multiple king beds is a big plus as is the separate "king pool suite". The off-street parking is also very convenient, and the management company did an excellent job of cleaning the house for our arrival.

Now for the negatives. Since our last stay at the Victoria House, both the house and outside landscaping show a bit of wear. The bedding was old, worn and stained, many of the outside potted plants were dead or dying, and the tree over the off-street parking drops sap that make the use of this off-street parking almost useless. The walls between the upstairs bedrooms are very thin, and you can hear any movement above you on the third floor due to the wood plank floors. We had a problem with the management agent related to some previous damage done to the kitchen patio doors, but this damage is probably corrected by now. Finally, we had to rearrange the kitchen cabinets to actually effectively use the kitchen, and there is very little kitchen working counter space.

All in all, the Victoria House is certainly not worth the 50% higher premium price charged over the Christmas and New Year's Holidays. Hopefully, the owners/management company will consider replacing all of the sheets and bedspreads as well as correct the tree sap problem over the off-street parking area that has been mentioned numerous times in other previous reviews of the Victoria House. Right from the start the people of at Home In Key West were terrific to work with. They provided excellent customer service, and were most accomodating. The Victoria House was a great place for our group of 12 friends. Hanging-out in the back by the pool was great fun. The location near Duvall Street, and half-way between Mallory Square and the beaches on the other side of the island was perfect. We mostly walked everywhere! We had rented two cars for the drive from the mainland, and it was nice having off-street parking for them, although it's a tight fit for two mid-size cars. Our family (11 of us) was in Key West to celebrate my mother-in law's 80th Birthday. We had a wonderful time at the Victoria House. Overall we enjoyed it with five adults and seven children. Had trouble with the air conditioning on the third floor and was told it needed a new unit. It became tolerable with fans blowing cool air from the second floor to the third. Street noise in the front bedrooms. Large tree over the front parking area dripped sap which attracted ants so we could not use this area for parking. More...

We came to Key West for a sister's 50th birthday. There were 10 women. The house was perfect! So much charm. We spent a ton of time in the back yard in the pool. The house is in a great location where we could walk to everything. This was the sixth 50th birthday party we have done and I say probably the best. The house made it!

One complaint - the coffee pot is too small!

6 retired couples rented a 12 pass. van, drove to Key West.We stayed at the Victoria House, We arrived on Sunday, The keys were easy to find, the house was just as described on line. Just a few blocks off Duval on Truman, we could get everywhere we needed by foot, electric car or scooter within minutes. Huge house with many, many sitting areas, ample bedrooms, and nice deck/pool area. We had 10 people in our party and had both privacy and adequate room to sit as a group.

If you do rent this location - bring ear plugs!!! My only complaint is that the roosters (a.k.a. Key West's famous feral chickens) start early and crow for 3-4 hours. Half the house got used to them, I never did. In retrospect, it is my fault for not seeking ear plugs earlier, but I didn't. More...

This house was great for the four of us couples that rented it for a week. The house had everything you could ask for. Great kitchen, plus an extra fridge outside by the pool and hot tub. Lots of room so you never felt like you were on top of each other. The only negatives I had were that at night road noise in the front of the house was loud and all the the tv's in the bedrooms had terrible reception, but we didn't go to Key West to watch tv or sleep a lot so it was worth it! 3 days would be plenty in this decitant city.Entertaining but with an overgrowth of homeless it puts a burdon on tourism.Our house was also broken into. They climbed a 6' fence and entered our obviously rented home on Truman ave (which is very noisey with traffic..all hours) I liked the town but for a $1000 a night don't stay in this house..its marked and ever burgler knows when your coming and going. We so enjoyed our stay at Victoria House. There were 4 couples staying in the main house and one person in the pool house. We spent a lot of time on the back porch area and in the hot tub & pool. Loved the kitchen and cooked a great meal there. The rooms were great except that the front bedroom had a lot of street noise from Truman Street. We come to KW every year and have stayed many different places. The Victoria house was by far the best. It was pure luck that we got this house. Victoria House was beautifully decorated.
The accommodations were exellent for our family and everyone could have their private time if needed. .
Appliances needed were in excellent condition. The children were in the pool daily. The patio was a family gathering place. Everything was within walking distance. Bikes were rented and many enjoyed the night life in Key West

This house was perfect for our vacation. We were able to walk everywhere along Duval street. Spacious, the pool and hot tub were nice. Lots of outdoor seating on the patio. All the balconies were great too. Overall we loved our stay. The only downside was there was no pantry. We brought lots of groceries and didn't have any place to put the food. We had a group of 11 stay at the Victoria House for my birthday. The house was pretty darn perfect. Very comfortable & big but still very "homey". The only major issue was construction. EVERY morning, except Sunday, by 7 AM we woke to the sound of construction. Also, due to the construction, the patio was pretty dusty/dirty. My friends & I really enjoyed the house and location and would definitely stay there again when construction is done. My family stayed at the Victoria house for ten days in March. In late fall of
2009, I received a letter from the rental company that there would be
construction occurring next door to this property. Mistakenly, I did not
heed their warning and decided to proceed with the rental as planned. The
construction next door is actually a motel and the concrete saws,
jackhammers and nail guns were completely unbearable. We could not sit
outside because the noise was so bad and there were huge plumes of dust
drifting into the pool area. To their credit, the rental company was
awesome and worked immediately to find us another place to stay.
Unfortunately, nothing was available that was suitable to our party size and
makeup. When we arrived, the pool was filthy and when a pool man DID
show up, he told us that there was no chlorine in the pool and that we
could not use it for two hours. Try telling four children on a hot day that
they cannot use the pool. Bummer. The house itself was beautiful on the
inside and the rooms were spacious and had nice details. We did have a
problem with ants on the third floor but a call to the rental company had an
exterminator over within hours. This house should not be rented until
construction is complete next door and even then I would exercise
caution...the motel cannot be more than 20 feet from the property line of
this home. It's a terrible shame because the motel has ruined what could

Loved the house setup and furnishing. Loved location.
The family all slept well and was very comfortable.

Major issue was ant problem. We had ants everywhere and I feel that house
really needs treated and treated and a regular basis. It was very disturbing.
This can and should be corrected. also another insect was biting on the
deck.

Secondary issue: Construction next door make it almost impossible to enjoy
back deck and pool area during day. One day they even worked from 7AM -
7PM. We had to go over and ask them when they would stop! I was told of
construction project when I asked if there were any negatives to property
but it really was loud and annoying.

Things that need corrected : Coffee maker in kitchen leaks all over kitchen
counter when using.

Still loved house but please correct insect problem.

I recently got married in Key West and my family rented the Victoria House for the week before the wedding. my 2 sisters, their husbands, my 4 year old nephew, my parents and my fiance stayed at the house for the week. It was perfect. The house is so spacious and comfortable. Every space is usable with plenty of room to spread out. The house was in immaculate condition with visits from the groundskeeper and the pool man. The location was amazing - easy to find and within walking distance to Duval St. and many great restaurants. The parking was also very convient. We held a cocktail party at the house for 30 people, doing most of the cooking ourselves. Everything turned out great. The kitchen was well stocked and the outdoor grill is huge. There was nothing that I would change and plan to rent it again with my friends soon!

House was beautiful. On a busy main road so parking could be an issue depending on time of day. We arrived at 6:30 PM...hours after house was supposed to be ready. House had not been cleaned. We had an absolutely perfect time. The house was beautiful, the kitchen was stocked well with plates and glasses, the pool area was fantastic, etc. Our group's only complaint was that we couldn't stay in the house and live there forever.

I stayed at the Victoria House with 10 friends for an extended weekend in August and had an excellent time. The house is centrally located in Key West making it easy to get to Duval St. and any other attractions. Though for a majority of the weekend we stayed in the house enjoying the pool and outdoor areas. We were very impressed with the layout of the home and it was immaculate when we arrived. I can truly say that this was the best vacation experience I have ever had in Key West. We have rented several times through At Home in Key West, but this house was the best of them all. Very roomy, and the decor was beautiful. My large family had their own space and never felt like they were on top of each other. The only issue we had were the ants which we never were able to get rid of. I called the office and they sent over an exterminator who sprayed immediately. Unfortunately that is part of living on the island. It would not deter me from renting this house in the future. I would highly recommend this house for large families. Pricey, but well worth it. We had a great stay at The Victoria House and would recommend it to anyone especially groups with 3-4 couples as the house works well for groups given the four separate bedrooms all with their own bathroom. The house is well maintained and nicely furnished with a adequate but small pool. The only real negative is that the televisions are outdated and their is no sound system that allows you to use an Ipod. A minor point given how nice the house is. We enjoyed the home and would stay there again simply because of the
location.
However there were cockroaches and ants in the kitchen!
NOT a good thing!!
Considering the amount of money we paid we felt
you as the leaser, should have
paid more attention to detail.
We
set off some Raid bug booms and put out some Torro ant killer that
seemed to
help. We hope you have this problem taken care of before
our next visit! I suggest
contacting a good exterminator! You could
also use some sharp knives in the
kitchen.

For the past two years a group of us (8 in total) have vacationed together. This year we chose Key West and The Victoria House as our destination. In EVERY phase of the rental process the staff at At Home in Key West, Inc. were fabulous! We really didn't think the trip could be any better until we arrived at the home. The grounds are beautiful and the home was spotless! A big kudos to the cleaning staff...they earn their money! There isn't anything you need/want that you couldn't find in the house. From glassware to appliances to pool toys, this house has it all. All we ever wanted was to stay longer! If you are thinking of going to Key West...you need to rent this home and rent from At Home in Key West! It's everything the spirit of Key West is and more! More...

This is a wonderful home. Beautifully decorated and stocked with just about everything you could need for a vacation away from home. It has just as many bathrooms as it does bedrooms which makes having a house full of relatives much easier! :) Everyone at At Home in Key West was really helpful and great to work with! I would definitely recommend both this home and At Home In Key West.
