Nice apartmnt in the center of Reykjavik
Very nice, cosy, comfortable and convenient apartment in the center of Reykjavik, close to all facilities. Fantastic for 2 people, a little bit less for 4 people. The stair is a little bit steep...
Amazing apartment, Wonderful Host, Beautiful Country!
The apartment is located centrally to all that youll need in Reykjavik, check in easy, its a really fantastic space probably not served justice in the photos with a great outdoor roof terrace that lets you have a check for any possible Northern Lights activity before stepping outside!
There is parking outside and all around though do bear in mind this is not free. Check in couldnt be easier and the apartment was well stocked with everything you would need for a self catering stay although you are on the doorstep of many many great restaurants and bars.
If i had one thing to say then maybe a double duvet would be better than two singles, although i possibly just didnt see it stored away :)
As for Sjonni, the owner of the apartment, he goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure your stay goes as seamlessly as possible, is on hand for questions before during and after not just about the apartment but to impart his considerable local knowledge of both Reykjavik and Iceland, the only shame i didnt get to meet him in person to thank him having missed him whilst out on trip.
Book this apartment, you really wont be dissapointed! Read more

Thank you very much for taking the time and submitting a review, very much appreciated. I hope you decide to visit again and that time around I hope we will find time for coffee:)
All the best,
Perfect in sooo many ways!
Loved this apt in central Reykjavik! It was warm and welcoming; bright and open; clean and well equipped (we needed nothing); and
walking distance to it all. Just perfect for 2 couples. Our host, Sjonni, couldn't have been more kind and helpful. We would highly recommend it to all! Read more

Another great stay in Luxury apartment
This was our second time staying in Luxury apartment and we loved it just as much as the first time around. The booking process from initial enquiry to accessing the apartment was smooth and efficient. The apartment is in a fantastic location, within easy walking distance of all the attractions. Bonus supermarket, bakery and plenty of restaurants close by. We loved our morning soak in the hot pots at the local swimming pool, Sundholl, on Baronsstigur - less than 5 min walk from the apartment. We look forward to staying in Luxury apartment again very soon.
Amazing pleace to have a wonderful holiday in Reykjavik
The aparment is located in one of the best streets in Reykjavik. It's a beautiful aparment to enjoy the Iceland experience. If you want to have a romantic days with your partner, it will be your best choice.
Lovely apartment in the heart of Reykjavik
We stayed here for 3 nights and were really impressed with the quality of the flat and it's location. It is right on the main shopping street in the town centre - so close to all amenities and restaurants/bars. The flat itself is really big and well equipped with a huge private outside area too if you are there when the weather is warmer (we didn't really get to take advantage of this).
If I am honest the only slight negative was on the saturday night there was some noise from local bars - but it didn't go on too late and didn't disturb us - but if you stayed there with young children it may be an issue.
Great spot in the heart of downtown Reykjavik
Lovely, modern & clean location in a great area of Reykjavik. I loved the layout and found it very comfortable. Walking distance to many attractions and great to have so much space for an affordable price. Only issue we had was that I was travelling with my older parents and they found the stairs a bit tricky. Other than that, perfect!

couldn't have asked for more
i spent 2 nights in the "Luxury apartment" in the beginning of September, and all i can is that the experience was great and when (not if) i return to Iceland, i will definitely be renting through Rent In Reykjavik again. I received instructions on how to obtain the keys (complete with pictures) to the apartment via email in a pdf file so me to save or open on either computer or smartphone several days prior to the rental, and the girls were very prompt, yet not overbearing, in email reminder, and very assuring that they were only a call away if there were any questions. Upon arrival the apartment was immaculate and in every way surpassed my expectations. The Luxury apartment is a beautiful space in an incredible part of Reykjavik and is just a short walk away from all major tourist locations and amenities in the city. I would recommend this dwelling and the service of Rent In Reykjavik to anyone looking to rent a space on their trip to beautiful Iceland.
Week stay in beautiful Iceland
We were fortunate to find this beautiful treasure on the main shopping street in downtown Reykjavik. The position was fabulous. Everything from a Bonus supermarket to the fantastic Glo- Raw Food Restaurant at your fingertips. This was a must travelling from australia. The apartment was superbly appointed for an independent rental.Internet was included in the tariff ( also a must),great kitchen facilities, comfy beds and a modern bathroom with great fixtures. We have stayed in apartments across the globe- rarely do they live up to our expectations- this one was a rare find. Sjonni was a delight to deal with. I'm not the easiest person to please, any question I asked and the numerous emails I sent prior to arrival were all answered quickly and most importantly warmly. The check-in process was easy as was the payment points prior to arrival. I highly recommend this apartment. We will definitely stay here on our next adventure to the gorgeous Iceland.
Great place in Central Reykjavik!
The apartment is located right smack in the middle of town, along the shopping street. We had easy access to supermarkets and local food, just by walking.
The apartment itself is huge and easily accommodated my family of four. The kitchen is also well equipped with everything you need to cook on your own.
Overall, we had a great experience staying at this apartment. I would definitely choose this apartment again if I come back.
One thing to note would be the front door, which we had trouble opening at times. If that was fixed, then I would consider the place perfect for my 2 nights stay.
Great apartment right in the centre of Reykjavik
We stayed here in May 2013. The apartment is excellent. Spacious and comfortable bedroom and bathroom downstairs, and huge kitchen/living area upstairs, as well as a great (also huge) roof terrace (where we were able to eat lunch outside in unexpectedly warm weather). The apartment is located in the middle of the main shopping street, within walking distance of most attractions, and across the road from a supermarket so easy to pick up supplies. Parking was also very easy - we left our car behind Sjonni's office, a 2 minute walk away (from there, it was about a 3 minute drive to Laugardalslaug - one of Reykjavik's municipal swimming pools, which we thoroughly enjoyed). The key for the apartment was waiting for us in a lock box outside the front door and, with the help of arrival instructions that Sjonni had sent us by email, we had no problems checking in or out. Highly recommended and great value in central Reykjavik. We hope to be back one day! Read more

Thank you for a lovely review. Hope you will be back to Iceland sooner than later:)
All the best,
Great place, wonderful location
Three friends and I stayed here for our last two nights in Iceland. After having driven around the country for 14 days camping, hostel hopping, and even sleeping in our cars for a night or two... this place was like a dream! Even better in person than in the pictures.
It was extremely clean, has a great lay out, easily can sleep four people with plenty of space - and the location can't be beat. You can walk out the front door and you're right in the middle of great restaurants, shopping, bars, etc. Parking was a little tricky since it's right on the main street, but not too bad (we just drove to a more neighborhood area where we could leave the car).
The deck/balcony area couldn't be beat, and we lucked out with sunny weather so we could enjoy it.
The owner was very friendly, easy to communicate with, and the instructions given for our arrival, etc. were very thorough and helpful. Overall, this is a great place to stay in the heart of downtown Reykjavik - we all highly recommend it! Read more

All the best,
Great stay in great apartment!
My husband and I loved out stay at this great apartment in the heart of Reykjavik. We couldn't have asked for a better place. We had everything we needed in the apartment and were within walking distance to all the sights in Reykjavik. Great place!
The location could not be better. Close to all tours. The pickup for some tours were right in front of the apartment. Used the Fly Bus to get to the apartment and they dropped us right in front (tell them OK Hotel as a reference point). Food shopping (Bonus) was just down the street. Tour office to book tours was also just down the street, Apartment was very spacious and clean and allowed the kids to have their own space. The deck was large and had we stayed longer may have used it more. The apartment helped make for an enjoyable end to our vacation.
Great Place, Great Location
My husband and I stayed here for a week and loved it! It was right downtown so you could walk to all the shops and restaurants. It's 2 seconds from a grocery store which was important to us as constantly eating out can get a bit pricey.
The place itself is beautiful - lots of light upstairs, comfortable couches. The weather did not cooperate for us to use the deck, but the deck is very large and would've been great in nicer weather. The apartment has all the amenities that you need and the bed was a memory foam mattress which was incredibly comfortable.
Sjonni was extremely nice and accommodating and check-in was very easy. The normal parking spot included was not available during our stay, so he was very generous and offered to reimburse us for any paid parking costs we had to incur. He also answered all of our questions about Iceland and would give us recommendations of where to eat, where to shop, where to see. We saw some beautiful places that we definitely would've missed had it not been for his recommendations!
Staying here was so much better than staying at hotel, you really felt like a local and it felt like home. Amazing experience, amazing place!! Read more

Thank you so much for a lovely review. It was my pleasure recommending good sites and places to see.
It was also a pleasure meeting you both:)
All the best,
Lovely apartment – lives up to the pictures!
We just got back from a week's stay in Luxury apartment following a week touring Iceland. The owner was away when we arrived, but sent us very clear instructions on how to access the key and followed up with emails when we arrived to check everything was OK. Apartment is very well equipped, with everything we needed for our stay - washing machine, dishwasher, plenty of cooking equipment as well as books, games, TV & DVD player. It was great to have the outside space too. Location is fantastic on the main shopping street - supermarkets, bakery, tourist information, restaurants all within 5 min walk and swimming pool just round the corner. Some reviews have mentioned street noise being problematic but this didn't bother us at all - in fact was quieter than at home (Brighton, UK).
We had a fantastic stay and looking forward to coming back again soon!
Great location, decent stay
This place was in a great location for exploring Reykjavik on foot. It has a very large private deck for entertaining friends and the bathrooms and kitchen were very nice and well stocked. My only complaints are 1) No Parking! Once we arrived we called the host to ask about parking (which was supposed to be included) and he said that the lot was under construction so there was none. I pressed him a bit and he said that there was free parking from 10a-6p in a public lot about a block away. This ended up working out ok for us because we were gone during the day, but otherwise would not have been acceptable to us. 2) The place was advertised as "non smoking" but reeked of smoke when we arrived.
Wonderful Stay in Iceland
We really enjoyed our four night stay in this apartment. Very comfortable, great outdoor space, many amenities and incredible location in the center of town. Sjonni was kind enough to let us check in early, and he even stopped by to personally welcome us and give us hiking recommendations in the area. Read more

All the best,
A first time Reykjavik visitor
Amazing location in Reykjavik
We had a great experience in renting from Sjonni - the apartment was clean, well stocked, spacious and perfectly located. Sjonni was quick to respond to all questions and very nice to deal with. We didn't have a car for the early portion of our trip and found the apartment to be near everything that we could wish for - grocery store, bars, restaurants and shopping.
One thing to note: there were a few occasions where we could smell cigarette smoke inside the house - the house itself is non-smoking but through no fault of Sjonni, maybe a neighbor smokes? It didn't bother us at all but could be bothersome if you were extremely sensitive to smoke.
All in all, I would highly recommend this home and had a wonderful vacation!
Canadian family of 3
Lovely large apartment
We really enjoyed our stay in Reykjavik and found the apartment was perfectly located on the main street, with a bank machine and grocery store right across the street. The Restaurant 73, also across the street, is excellent! We are a family of 3 and had plenty of space. Nice to have a kitchen and the deck is lovely. Read more

Everything went according to plans. Great location. Next to tourist information office, so it was easy to organize excursions around Iceland.
great location, great little city!
a wonderful apartment right in the middle of everything with plenty of space and everything you could need! we received a speedy and professional service through out from Sjonni and will definitely be back!

Penthouse at 70 Laugavegur
This apartment is a fantastic place to stay. The location is perfect and close to everything wonderful about Reykjavik. Laugavegur is right where you want to be when staying in the city. Sjonni and Jenny made the process of arriving and departing very smooth and acted promptly when we had a simple request. The apartment is perfectly suitable for summer or winter visits and is decorated very nicely. It accommodated us fully and enjoyably, making out first visit to Iceland a memorable one. It will be my first option when I return. -Christy

Sjonni provided a brilliant service - and came straight back to us when we had any queries. The apartment was really good - well maintained and had very good facilities. The apartment is also very well situated in the town - and great access to everything. Friday and Saturday night can be a little noisy - but as they say, if you cannot beat them, join them! Iceland rocks!
Fantastic flat in perfect location
3 of us stayed in this apartment and it had everything we needed in terms o space and facilities. Super cool decor and an awesome massive deck to sit out on.
Would highly recommend and will definitely book again when heading to Reykjavik

Not only did we love Reykjavik (our first time there--clean, safe, friendly, beautiful), our trip was so much better for having rented this apartment! We have rented apartments in various locations throughout the world and this was one of the best. Sjonni and Jenny were very friendly, helpful and responsive, and finding/checking in was easy and quick. The hair dryer had apparently been accidentally packed by a prior tenant, and Jenny brought me a brand new one within about a half-hour. The apartment is in a great location right down the street from one of the best bakeries I have ever found (Sandholt)--you can get coffee, great pastries, and sandwiches there. There is also a good grocery store a couple of minutes away, and other shopping, restaurants, museums, and other places of interest within easy walking distance. The apartment is bright, sunny, well-equipped, clean, and stylish--we felt right at home. It's also cozy and warm with lots of hot water. They have forgotten no detail. We recommend this place without reservation and will definitely rent it again when we return to Reykjavik--a charming, friendly, and safe city. Thank you!!
Perfect location right on Laugavegur. The apartmen had a fridge, which was great. We stopped by Bonus (supermarket) and stocked up on food. Very stylish apartment two, great design. And had a wonderful deck.
Sjonni and Jenny were a delight to deal with. Would highly recommend.
Family with children
Great option in Reykjavik
We have spent two weeks in the apartment with our two children (1 and 4 year old), and we couldn´t ask for a better apartment to stay in. It has everything we needed, even a mixer for the baby food!!. It is very comfortable, clean, very bright, well furnished and equiped with everything you could need for a long stay. The only minor point is that only had a shower and when you travel with children a bathtub is better.
Its location is perfect, in the center of Reykjavik, and two minutes walking to a grocery store, although it is a bit noisy during weekend nights. Parking was easy in the street (paying) and Sjonni provided us free parking near the apartment.
Sjonni attention was perfect, prompt and efficient. He helped us to prepare our travel to the south, he even found us a place to stay for that night.
We would absolutely recomend it!
Bruno & Claudia, Switzerland
The service through Sjonni was prompt and uncomplicated.
The home was as gorgeous as in the pictures.
The location was a lot quieter than we thought it would be.
We liked the free delivery of "Frettabladid" as our wake-up-call at 5.50 a.m., as we had to get up early. For tourists who want to sleep in, we recommend a note on the door not to throw the newspaper in:-)
We felt very much at home and we will come back!
Thank you Sjonni and Jenny!
Beautiful apartment, perfect location
I had a great time at this unit, right on the amin shopping street in Reykjavik! Spacious enough for 4 people easily, it was clean and check-in was a breeze!
I liked the large patio the most!!
Wonderful New Year's Eve in Reykjavik
We couldn't have asked for a better apartment in which to spend New Year's Eve in Reykjavik. The apartment is very centrally located, and my friend and I were able to walk to absolutely everything. In addition, we found the apartment to be very clean and spacious. We had no problems contacting the owner, and we appreciated how flexible he was with our check-in time, as our arrival plans kept changing because our shuttle was running late. The owner also provided excellent recommendations in the area. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Read more

Really glad that you enjoyed your stay:-)
A good place to stay.
A great place to stay
Our stay at 70 Laugavegur was great. The accommodation was clean, spacious and in a great location in the Centre of Reykjavik. Great place for larger parties of people, fully fitted to eat, sleep comfortably and enjoy whilst in Reykjavik. The landlord was very helpful and would come back again. Takk fyrir.
Travel with independence
This apartment was an ideal place to stay for my girlfriend and I. We were 3 blocks from the city center, where restaurants, bars, cafes and grocery stores were very accessible. Parking was easy and the street was very quiet. Reykjavik is an expensive place to dine out, so having a kitchen saved us a lot of money. Additionally, the apartment is clean, modern and comfortable, and affords more space than a traditional hotel. The proprietor was very accommodating and checked us into the apartment very late at night.
Rochester, New York
A great place to stay - we could not have asked for better!
We had a wonderful time staying at this apartment. It's in a perfect location - we were able to get around town as we needed and were even given a parking spot just one block away.
The apartment is very clean, modern, comfortable and easy to get to. We really could not have asked for a better place to stay.
Sjonni and Jenny were very friendly and helped us sort out any problems we had. They also gave us great recommendations for places to go for food, etc. nearby.
We would, without a doubt, stay at this apartment again.
Fantastic location, perfect spot for a couple
Great location on the main shopping street in Reykjavik. Everything--and I mean everything--including the Perlan is within easy walking distance. It's also only three minutes from one of the main bus stops, so you can travel farther outside the city limits. There's a supermarket about a block away, and cooking in the kitchen was easy. Yes, Friday and Saturday nights will be loud--but so is every place in downtown Reykjavik. (We've stayed on the 7th floor of hotels, and it was much louder than this apt.) The owners were great through the entire reservation process. I highly recommend this apartment. And, if this one is not best for you, check out any of the other www.rentinreykjavik.com places, as the property managers are a pleasure to work with.
Perfect apartment and awesome Host!
I'm positive you will not find a better apartment, location, value or host in Reykjavik! Even before our trip began I'm sure Sjonni and Jenny were feeling pestered with my frequent emails regarding car rentals, tours, golf courses etc... I always received a prompt response with detailed information which really helped plan our trip and put nerves at ease!
My boyfriend and I arrived in Reykjavik in the early morning and were able to have access to the apartment immediately. Sjonni met us there soon after to make sure everything was satisfactory and answer any questions. He also provided further contact information in case we had more questions. Throughout the week I ended up contacting Sjonni several more times with general questions (i.e. - best places to eat... highly recommend Fish Market!) and he always responded promptly and even met us out a couple of times to respond in person!
The apartment is in a great location, walking distance to everything you'll need - grocery store, shopping, coffee, restaurants... The apartment itself is spread over 2 floors with the bedroom and master bathroom on the main floor, and kitchen/dining/living and additional bathroom on the 2nd floor. There is also a giant balcony that overlooks the main street. The apartment is tastefully decorated with some local art pieces and a good size bookcase full of books. You will find everything you need for your stay in the apartment.
I highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Reykjavik and think you would have a hard time finding anything better for the same value. We are planning a return trip (one week wasn't enough) and will most definitely stay here again! Read more

Travelers from New Jersey
A great vacation!
Along with our daughter and her husband, we stayed in Jenny and Sjonni's spacious, well-equiped, afforable apartment located in a very convenient part of town. They gave us their phone numbers and encouraged us to call them if we needed anything. They also offer very interesting, affordable and informative tours. Sjonni, who is a trained mountain guide and is very congenial, drove us around to the places we wanted to see. We would certainly stay in one of their apartments if we visited Iceland again and highly recommend their apartments to anyone visiting Reykjavik.
Best of everything in walking distance of all points of interest
Our family including my husband and mother and father really researched options for our stay in Reykjavik. We are thrilled we found this place! It is top notch on every level: right on the main drag in the city, comfortable, clean, elegant, and well-equipped space, with an outstanding family managing reservations and events.
We had the added bonus of working with the family to organize our trips pony trekking and exploring the country, which was fun, informative, and made the whole trip excellent. You won't find a nicer and more informed host (Sjonni is a well-traveled mountaineering guide and expert), and the fee is more than reasonable comparatively.
December in Reykjavik
Stayed from early December to early January. Location on Reykjavik's main shopping street is awesome. Owner was very helpful and arranged for someone to pick us up at the BSI bus terminal on arrival. Nearby grocery stores from discount (Bónus) to organic (Heilsuhúsið and Yggdrasill). Kitchen well supplied with appliances including a microwave, dishwasher and utensils. Great coffee shops include Kaffismiðjan Ãslands, Mokka Kaffi and of course Kaffitár. We ate over a dozen different cuisines & sampled the many restaurant choices in the city, including a pair of vegetarian restaurants, à næstu grösum and Grænn Kostur. We did not have a car and walked all over. To get outside the city we did day tours used pick up/drop off at Fosshótel Barón - 2-3 minute walk with easy access for tour vans or buses - (Laugavegur is too narrow for the larger tour buses). Day tours can be booked online with arctic adventures, Reykjavik Excursions or Grey Line.
Tips for gringos:
1) The hot and cold water are different systems. For drinking or coffee use only cold tap water. The hot water has a sulfur smell because it is an older system that uses geothermally heated water that is high in minerals. Swimmer's shampoo can help wash the minerals out of your hair if it bothers you.
2) Washer is European which means it takes much longer than a North american model to go through the wash cycle and bring a clothesline.
3) Buy alcohol at the airport duty free when you arrive. Later you can buy more from the state liquor stores Vinbudin (closest is on austurstræti). Icelanders hit the bars after 10PM and they are full by 11PM. Try Opal if you want a shot of local firewater made from Icelandic candy.
4) If you like candy - Iceland rocks. Buy candy on Saturday as many stores discount. Hraun Bitar, literally Lava Bits, (crisp rice in chocolate), Kúlusúkk (licorice in chocolate) and Nóa Kropp (corn puffs in milk chocolate) were our favorites.
Wonderful stay - wonderful location - would stay again!
Where to start - the apartment is immaculate - super stylish and very warm - all the amenities I need when I travel like a kitchen - great 2 baths master bedroom and patio to entertain guest or enjoy the weather. They owners were extremely flexible and accommodating! Made our trip with top of the line service
will most definitely stay there next time and tell all my friends that want to go to Iceland to see if they are available!
After reading the reviews of this flat I was expecting great things.
We are a young couple with a baby. This flat is not suitable for families with a baby at all. The stairs from the bedroom up to the living area are treacherously steep and not at all suitable for someone who would be carrying a baby.
While the website said that a cot could be provided this turned out to be a travel cot which was left at the door for us on arrival. We couldn't for the life of us get the thing up and working after spending half an hour trying, and our baby ended up sleeping in an armchair propped against the wall.
The towels provided were sparse and unsuitable to give to paying guests.
The sink in the bathroom didn't drain properly and using the shower left the bathroom in a puddle of water.
The flat was advertised as having a DVD player and a TV. There was no DVD player and the TV had two channels. One was some kind of religious channel and the other was not in English, so the TV was completely useless to us.
The location is fantastic and within easy reach of shops, bars and restaurants. This would be ideal for a group of boys/girls who are out most of the time enjoying the nightlife but on Friday night when you're stuck in with a baby the noise was just unbearable and again completely unsuitable for a family with a baby.
This is very much a student (with out of date food in the cupboards) bachelor pad and overall we were very disappointed. Read more
Response from Reykjavik Central Apartments - 11/12/2010
We are really sorry that the apartment was not to your satisfaction.
I don´t remember which towels we left in the apartment but we could have easily given you new ones if you would have called us. The sink drains very well if you lift up the drain blocker.
The DVD player was broken and I had forgotten to replace it. If you would have let us know It would have been easy to provide you immediately with another one.
We only have two channels in Iceland that you don´t have to pay for.
We leave food such as sugar and spices that people have already left behind so the future guests don´t have to buy big quantities and so wasting money. We will be more careful to check for dates in the future.
We are again really sorry that you did not enjoy the apartment as it is one of our most popular apartments. It is our sincere desire to keep our costumers happy.
Regarding the cot, we had already offered any assistant what so ever as we live just five minutes away.
We wish you would have contacted us during your stay so we could have dealt with the problems and made your stay more enjoyable.
All the best,
Very convenient apartment and excellent, friendly arrangements
The apartment was centrally located, very well appointed and private, though in the centre of town. Although there is a cloakroom and a bathroom, you will need to be ok with idea of all sharing the shower downstairs in the bathroom if there are more than two of you. Rental booking could not have been smoother or more friendly.
Central Location - walk easily to everything
When we arrived we were delighted with the place (we had a little trouble finding it as in Iceland, a few places share the same address and we didn't realize it was behind a store). Its upstairs is filled with light and they have a nice kitchen and a comfortable couch to relax on. There is a wonderful local pool nearby that Jenny directed us to (it would be nice if there were one or two extra towels at the house so you didn't have to rent them at the pool). However, when we were there, it was so loud outside with honking horns and people shouting from 11pm-5am that we couldn't sleep much including my mom who can't hear that well, but maybe it was been a particularly crazy weekend (my mom who has hearing problems also found it too loud) as there owners said they dont' have problems usually. But the place itself was lovely so if you don't have the noise outside, it would be good and it is so central. The place across the street has wonderful icelandic pancakes!
Beautiful, nicely located and well equipped apartment!
This apartment was exactly as described when we arrived on our trip in early Sept '10. The upstairs living area is awesome and provided a lot of room for us to plan our trip and prepare/eat meals (a lot cheaper than the restaurants around).
All the amenities were there and it felt just like being at home, but in a different city. This was a really nice feeling to come back to after a long day out sightseeing.
The only complaint about the place that I would have (and this didn't really pose a problem for us, I just sort of found it strange) is that there is no microwave in the apartment. Coming from North america I know that everyone has one of these in their homes (even before an oven), so I just thought it would be the addition to make this place fully equipped.
Any worries about street noise in this downtown location can pretty much be quashed as the bedroom is tucked under the main living area and there isn't much sound that comes in from the street. Mind you we visited in Sept, I can't really say what it would be like in June-July (but I would guess it would be quiter than most places in the downtown area). There aren't really any noisy bars in this immediate area anyways.
The owners were really helpful and quick to respond to our needs. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Reykjavik for an extended or even short stay. Read more

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in our apartment.
You are not the first to point out about the lack of microwave and we have now bought one : )

The flat was in an excellent location, on the main shopping street and a 5 minute walk to the Hlemmur bus terminal. It was clean, modern and well furnished, we really liked the open-plan layout, although we felt that a microwave oven would have been a really useful addition to the kitchen.
The water was really hot!
We would suggest that anyone arriving at the flat by the shuttle bus should ask to be dropped off at Hotel Baron Foss, as this is far closer to the flat than the official stop at the other end of Laugavegur.
Wonderful-- tasteful, good vibes.
A great place to stay, great location and fair price.
Lovely appartment in the centre of Reykjavik
Top location in the centre of Reykjavik with a splendid roof terrace. We liked it a lot.
Unique flat in center of town with huge outdoor patio
The flat owners were very nice and made the arrival logistics very easy. The flat itself was right in the center of town on the main street. Being set out over two floors allowed for plenty of space, and the downstairs bedroom was quiet and separate, but connected via stairs or the huge outdoor patio. Only issue was the roll-away beds were not the greatest quality, so not an ideal flat for a larger group of friends.

Fantastic Location and Wonderful Host = Amazing Experience!
Please do not hesitate to rent this wonderful apartment if you are interested in visiting Reykjavik. The apartment is just like you see in the photos, only better, because of it's central location to everything in Iceland you will need.
Once you get the hang of everything, it is truly in a perfect spot to see and explore Iceland on foot (the best way, in my opinion) or by bus as the main bus station is only a few blocks away.
The location is perfect as it's close to all things you will need such as the supermarkets, bakery, tourist office and a good swimming pools is also nearby.
Jenny was very kind to pick us up from the bus station and handled all of our requests with professional ease. The place exceeded our expectations and I look forward to coming back around Christmas and New Year's.

Best location, clean and comfortable
Our host picked us up from the central bus station for the short drive to the apartment, which is located on the central shopping street of Reykjavik, in the heart of the city.
The apartment is beatufully decorated and contains a wide array of amenities and modern appliances.
We stayed for a week and were very comfortable. The location gave us the opportunity to explore the city's main attractions and interesting side streets on foot. Another benefit is the nearby access to one of Reykjavik's wonderful geothermal pubic pools and hot tubs; also a short walk to Sandholt Bakery for morning coffee and quiche and a loaf of fresh baked bread.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment and would gladly stay there again.
you won't find a better apartment!
Jenny and Jonny could not have been more helpful or have provided a more
professional service than they did. The apartment itself is absolutely stunning,
very well equipped and we felt very much at home. The central location and
the breathtaking view was the icing on the cake.
If you want to truly experience living in Reykjavik, you must stay in this
apartment! We will certainly be booking this apartment when we next travel to
This apartment is located in the centre of Reykjavik. Everything is like in the pictures, there are no surprises. I highly recommend staying in this apartment for a stay in reyka.
Perfect apartment in a perfect location
We stayed for two nights at the end of our holiday in Iceland in this wonderful apartment right in the centre of Reykjavik. The light filled open plan living space (upstairs) was really lovely and inviting, as was the terrace (where we enjoyed breakfast in the sun. The terrace could be accessed from both the living room and the downstairs bedroom (with ensuite). There were four of us staying so we also used the sofabed upstairs, which was very comfortable. The location couldn't be better, as it is really central and there are lots of options for eating out and all of Reyjaviks city sights are in easy walking distance. We found the apartment to be clean, spacious (for four people) & full of character, it was also good value for money. We would highly recommend this apartment, and would definately stay here again on a return trip to Iceland.

My husband and me stayed in this apartment for 6 days and we loved it.It was like being at our home but in Iceland.Great facilities;everything worked perfectly; it is spacious and comfy.Location is perfect; closed to everything you need in Reykjavik ;tourist office to book all your excursions ;shops and restaurants and bus station as well as pick up points for trips.
Jenny was also a very helpful host; and even though she was on call if needed she totally respected our privacy .
If we go again; we will defintely stayed there.

Very highly recommended!
We arrived to find that our home for the week was not only in the perfect spot for exploring Reykjavik, but also the perfect place to come home to, to relax and defrost.
The apartment is equipped with everything we needed and is furnished like a home. It was everything we had hoped for and more. A wonderful mix of space and warmth that would be hard to achieve in London!
You only need step outside the building and you are on Laugervegur, the main street through the city. Close enough that nowhere is far to walk, but just far enough that the noisy but joyous weekend local bar crawl is something that happens somewhere else and could go un-noticed if you were tucked up inside the flat.
The apartment owners were incredibly kind and accommodating, even managing to meet us at the coach terminal despite our flight being terribly delayed. And this, on a night when they had their own plans. It was very much appreciated.
We would definitely recommend Luxurious and Cosy and can not think of any reason to look elsewhere if we were heading back to Reykjavik.

This was our second trip to Iceland and we had
decided to rent a place instead of stay in a hotel as
we did last time. We could not have asked for more.
This flat is absolutely beautiful, wonderfully
comfortable and situated in an ideal location. We
were able to nip out for coffee or a meal without a
lot of planning, and the major sightseeing points
within easy distance of the flat were astounding.
Reykjavik is my favourite place that I have been in
the world and when I think of my ideal visit it was
spent in this flat.

A Great Home Away From Home
The apartment is a nice place to stay while visiting Reykjavik. The accommodations are near a bank, food store, 24 hour convenience store, and walking distance to all restaurants, shops, cafes, and nightlife. The bed is very comfortable and the apartment is spacious, bright, and well decorated. This was much better than my stay at the boring Hilton on the outskirts of town and I saved a small fortune on taxi's too.
