It is in a walking distance from the city center where most of the restaurants, art galleries and museums are. From the apartments window one has view over the old west-side of town. To the west a beautiful mountain view across the bay. With a good visibility you can see the glacier Snaefellsjokull in about 200 km distance.

Los Angeles, CaliforniaCute apartment and Wonderful Location!
Left on 02/22/2013 for a stay in February 2013
I stayed here early February with three of my friends. This apartment was wonderful. Upon arrival we were given a map and shown various points of interest and how to get to the center of town. The walk to the edge of the center is about 10 minutes at the most. Even in the winter it was perfectly doable.
The apartment size itself was just fine for four people with the one bedroom and the pullout couch (which was very large). The decor was lovely and the place was clean upon arrival. We also found the open layout between the kitchen and living space to be great. There were plenty of utensils and cooking pots which we made good use of since eating out was more expensive than anticipated.
Great apartment, great location, great value! -

A brilliant introduction to Reykjavik provided by our host who picked us up from the bus station and gave us a mini guided tour of the city before dropping us off at the apartment.
A very pleasant apartment - best for 2 people - although the sofa-bed was very comfortable. Located in residential street but an easy walking distance from the town.
Maybe some black-out blinds could be fitted to the lounge skylights for those trying to sleep on the sofa-bed in summer! -

Lovely, newly-decorated flat just 10 minutes walk from town centre. The flat had all amenities and the owners were very helpful and welcoming. Very good value for money, I recommend it.

Left on 09/02/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My husband and I stayed in anna's apartment in august - it's a really comfortable place, and is very close to downtown. The all-night sunshine didn't bother us at all, the bed was super comfortable, and the kitchen/dining area was a nice place to sit and relax in the evenings. Definitely a lovely place to stay if you're in Reykjavik!

The apartment was spotless and perfect for our stay in Reykjavik. All the comforts of home in a quiet residential area, yet only a 10-15 minute walk from the city center. Having a kitchen let us cook to save some money. There is a grocery store a short walk away and a 24h convenience store just a block away. Ulli promptly picked us up at the bus station and even gave us a short driving tour before dropping us off at the apartment. Most hotels in Reykjavik have pretty small rooms. Having the space of an apartment was a great way to relax after long days of sight-seeing. Highly recommended!

The place was perfectly located, close enough to walk to the downtown core within 10 minutes, but far enough that you get some peace and quiet when the partying picks up on the weekend.
There are several grocery stores very close by, making it easy to stock up for your stay.
The owners were extremely nice and very accommodating hosts. -

Left on 06/20/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Location is really about 10-15 minute walk to the centre. There are not enough curtains or blinds in the flat for privacy particularly in the bathroom and there is no cable tv (as was advertised). On the plus side there is and excellent wifi connection and the owners are nice honest and helpful

The apartment was wonderful, well equipped and well located just a short walk from centre of Reykjavik and also from the harbour. We had a warm welcome from the owner and they picked us up from the bus station, which was very helpful. They also helped us plan our vacation and sent us lots of useful information by email before our visit. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone.

ChicagoLovely apartment
Left on 05/09/2011 for a stay in April 2011
My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Octavo(Framnesvegur) Guesthouse. The apartment is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, about a 10 minutes walk to the city's center. It is near a convenience store, as well as a larger discount grocery store, so food shopping is very easy. The apartment itself has most amenities that one would expect, except a microwave oven. The washer, however, was either broken, or we could not figure out how to work it. We contacted the owners and they came by and did our laundry at their home - very nice. I would recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Reykjavik for more than three days, as preparing some of your own meals at home certainly beats eating out at the city's expensive restaurants

We liked this apartment very much. It was modern and very clean. Everything we needed was there. We could make our food and had plenty of room to sit and eat, watch television, listen to music. The beds were nice and comfortable. A nice shower room too.

ChicagoWonderful
Left on 11/11/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We stayed here for two nights as the first part of our honeymoon from Chicago. We had arranged to meet at the apartment at 9am, but due to a misunderstanding, no one was there. After calling Ulfar from the tourist office, he met us in 5 minutes (the apartment is very close to the city center, but in a quiet neighborhood.)
We had a nice introduction to the apartment from Ulfar and he congratulated us on our marriage. They had placed some flowers and chocolates on the table for us - a very nice touch.
Overall, the apartment was wonderful. You can tell that anna and Ulfar put a lot of time into designing and decorating the place. It is full of really nice details and patterns. The bedroom light shade and bedside tables stand out particularly. There is also a lot of natural light in the apartment and a great view of the ocean which helps adjust to the jetlag.
While the apartment is small, it is ideal for a couple, and perhaps a few more since there is a sofa bed in the living area as well. I think this was the nicest place we stayed at during our honeymoon - an excellent way to start our trip. -

This apartment was lovely and comfortable. It was also only a short walk (5 to 10 minutes) from the downtown area. I stayed here for two weeks and felt very much at home.
