These charming apartment building and private house are located in the heart of old Reykjavik, in Thingholt on a peaceful street, Bergstadastraeti.

Within a few minutes walking distance you will find the main museums, art galleries, cinemas, coffee houses, restaurants, bars, swimming pool and the main shopping streets, Laugavegur and Skolavordustigur. Bus terminal between Keflavík and Reykjavík in 1 km. distance. Local bakery and grocery shop within 2 min. walking distance.

  Really lovely apt and in a perfect location. Walking distance to everything! Three exposures radiate this flat with tons of light and balconies have great views of the city. Bedrooms and bathroom are a fine size and the living area & kitchen is a beautiful, loft like space.
  
  To know before you go: There are a lot of stairs and like most places in Iceland, the shower is tiny and there are no black out curtains in bedrooms (which is always puzzling because there is so much light half the year), and extra towels will cost you (there were 2 with rental). Also, you are responsible for cleaning the flat when you leave; otherwise you will be charged for a cleaning service (which we were not, but I had never encountered that before; not sure how I feel about tourists cleaning my rental). But these were truly minor issues. Overall, I loved staying here and would highly recommend!

  Thank you very much for your review. I´m very pleased that you liked our location and the apartment. I will take into consideration your review regarding the black out curtains in the bedroom.
  
  I have never charged my guests for extra towels and I always clean very thouroughly after each guest myself, even if guests have cleaned a little bit themselves. I did put these regulations in the beginning in the apartments after consulting other apartment rental owners, but I will defenitely change this after receiving your review. Thank you again for helping me to make the apartments better :)

  Best of both worlds...this apartment is in easy walking distance to all that Reykjavik has to offer...and it is on a quiet residential street so your sleep won't be disturbed. We stayed here in July 2010 and found the apartment to be bright and clean and very conveniently located. It is very easy to reach from the airport...you can take the Flybus Plus and ask the driver to drop you off at the Hotel Holt in Reykjavik. The apartment is less than a block away on the same street. The owner of this apartment was extremely friendly and helpful. This was our first trip to Iceland and we had questions before we arrived. She made some calls for us and found out the information we needed. We had more questions once we arrived such as where to find a chip for our cell phone and she called and found out that information also. There was no one staying at the apartment the day before we arrived, and she let us have early check-in since we were arriving on an early flight. We enjoyed staying at an apartment instead of a hotel. It's nice having a kitchen to cook some meals instead of dining out for every meal. It's nice having a couch and table and chairs and having more room than you would have in a hotel room. This apartment also had free internet, which is a nice feature.
  If you are considering a trip to Iceland, we would highly recommend it! It is a beautiful country and everyone we met was very friendly. We rented a car and drove along the southern part and some of the eastern part of Iceland. There are so many beautiful places to see. Right off the ring road, you can see beautiful waterfalls, a glacier lake with icebergs, icebergs on the beach, beautiful countryside and shoreline. There are lots of places to hike and there are lots of places where you can see nature's beauty right off the main road if you're not able to hike.
