Left on 03/12/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Would really recommend this really pretty apartment as a place to stay if visiting Reykjavik. Great location and within walking distance of everything!
There was 6 of us travelling together and the apartment has loads of space, was really clean, had everything anyone would need while staying there.
If visiting there again I would book this apartment :)

      Absolutely wonderful

Left on 02/11/2013 for a stay in December 2012

This apartment has it all. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Reykjavik. You're no more than a 5 minute walk from almost all the city has to offer! The presentation of the apartment is outstanding, it really does feel like your home when you walk in. Having everything you need there from wifi through to kitchen utensils really does save you a lot of money when you compare it to staying at a hotel, as well as being able to eat in the apartment on occasions also saves you a bit of money too.

We really loved the apartment and will definitely stay here again! I cannot recommend it enough.

      Perfect Family Vacation

Left on 12/23/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Mark and augusta were lovely to work with! Flat was perfect - great location, easy walk to shops/cafes and bus station which will take you to airport. Very nicely equipped with a small grocery across the street. We didn't rent a car and it turns out apt so well located we didn't need too. We travelled with our 2 kids ages 10 and 12 and as a family we were very comfortable. Would certainly recommend.

The apt is very comfortable and cute. The location is perfect. The two bedroom offered enough space for four adults and the beds were comfortable.

I would stay here again for sure!

Lovely apartment in a very convenient location

Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in July 2012

My husband and 4 children and I stopped over in Iceland for 2 nights following a Baltic Cruise. We noticed that this property was continually booked and, after reading the reviews, then staying here for ourselves, we see why. It was clean and spacious and centrally located, with all the necessary amenites available. A grocery store was across the street and main shopping/entertainment area was literally down the hill. The property was very easy to find, with the Hallgrimskirkja Church serving as a beautiful landmark at the top of the street. We could easily walk to the tourist bus stations, as well as the harbour and enjoy all that downtown Reykjavik had to offer. Mark was very accomodating and answered all questions prior to and during our stay there. If returning to Iceland, which I certainly intend to do, we wouldn't hesitate staying here again. Thank you Mark for helping to ensure our family had a great stay!

      Lovely apartment..Great Location!!!

Left on 05/29/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Wow..this was one really, really nice huge 2 bedroom apartment on the 1st floor. Only had to navigate 3 or 4 steps until you were in the vestibule area. Very well appointed. Everything was up to date and looked brand new. Huge living/dining area to spend time with friends and family. Full sized frig, dishwasher, fully stocked kitchen (everything you could want from pots, pans, silver, dishes..everything you would need to cook for yourself and family (food can get pricey there and and occasional meal out is a real treat)! 2 spacious bedrooms. On one of the main streets to the big church but inside you hear very little of what is transpiring outside. Beds and furniture were all very comfortable. Owners were kind enough to leave a note with a list of things to see and do while there. Convenient to the main shopping street and an easy walk to the waterfront. This place was spotless and so well kept. Sleep 4 very comfortably!! Dining area is full of windows so you can watch the activity outside. Close to markets to shop for groceries. This was a really, really nice place to stay! If you have a chance..don't miss this little gem!!!

      the best house in iceland

Left on 03/15/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We stayed at the red house and it was everything as promised and more. It was warm, comfortable, spacious and well equiped a real home from home. Having the convience of a washing machine and tumble drier was brillant with all the cold and snow in the winter. The only V slight problem we could not get DVD player to work. The Red House is well postioned for all ameities and most of the tours/trips will pick you up from the nearby hotel. When we visit Iceland again we will be sure to stay at the Red House. We also went to the Perlan for a meal which is a must for all visitors. Thank you Mark your house is lovely.

      Comfortable, thoughtful and clean!

Left on 12/02/2011 for a stay in November 2011

My family of four including two teenage daughters thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Red House Upper Flat. The location was perfect as it was not too close to the night life so we could sleep at night with only the occasional reveler. The cleanliness and bedding was deliciously soft. It was a pleasure to come home to this flat after a day exploring Iceland and make hot tea, cocoa or coffee and relax in a comfortable living area. We would go back!

Booking and arrangement of payment was simple and fast, we paid by PayPal. Mark responded promptly to all enquires.
We are a family with a toddler and a baby. When we arrived there were two cots set up, two highchairs with plates, cups, cutlery and bibs. The flat was clean, comfortable, well stocked with good amenities.
The flat is located in the centre of Reykjavik, there is a mini supermarket across the road and it is within walking distance of shops and restaurants.
The flat was everything we needed and was great to come home to at the end of the day.

We stayed at The Red House for 5 days. Overall, our experience has been excellent. The house itself is very clean and spacious for the 4 of us who stayed. The location is excellent, just a walk to shops, restaurants and cafes. The owner was always available via email to answer questions.
