Experience unsurpassed tranquility at the ZigZag River Chalet! Stay warm and cozy with a rock fireplace in the family room and a woodstove in the living room. Situated on a large, sunny lot with 300 ft of waterfront, this beautiful house is adjacent to Forest Service land and in a PERFECT location for hiking, biking, skiing, swimming, golfing and FUN!
The master bedroom has a king bed private entrance to the deck and hot tub. The second master bedroom has a queen bed and private bath. There are 2 twin beds in the third bedroom, and the upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a private balcony. The loft has a twin bed.

We had a great time at the Chalet. This is the best vacation rental I have ever rented! The house is actually lot nicer than the photos on the website. It is very spacious, and has ample space for two families. The sound of the river was really soothing. I could have spent all day on the deck overlooking the river. The kitchen is well equipped -- we were surprised at the selections of spices! Dish washer worked great, and so did all the other appliances. The beds were very comfortable. The owner Pete is very pleasant to work with. Thank you, Pete! We really loved your chalet! We will definitely come back!!!

We were looking for a place where all family members could get together for meals, and those that were not living close to Portland could spend the night. We have a family reunion almost every year, and our tiny cabin just a mile down the road was truely only big enough for maybe eight. The ZigZag Chalet was the perfect solution!!! 4 goodsized bedrooms contained one king, two queens, and 3 twins. Two full bathrooms completed the basics. What we loved best, however, was the kitchen/dining room combination. Between the huge table (sat 8 comfortably) and the 5 barstools, there was a spot for everyone. Plus there were 2 patio sets on the back deck if you needed more room. There was a big cable TV, pool table, croquet set and horseshoes provided, plus a large hot tub. The outer decks provided extra areas to enjoy the ZigZag River at the back door. The beds were comfortable,and the furniture was high quality, but sturdy and rustic, so we didn't feel uneasy letting the kids (4-13) play their board games in one of the living areas, while we were in another. (We could still see them.) And there was plenty of wood if you wanted a fire. New appliances and a fully equipped kitchen made cooking easy. All in all it was a perfect weekend. And Pete is a doll. Really enjoyed our time at the ZigZag River Chalet. The owner, Pete, is very easy to work with and very friendly. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and listening to the nearby ZigZag River. The sleeping arrangements were great! I think the king bed in the master bedroom was probably the most comfortable bed that I have ever slept in. The house was extremely clean and spacious. The dining table was big enough for a crowd.
While there we enjoyed hiking on the many nearby trails and the kids (10 and 12) really enjoyed the alpine Slide at Ski Bowl about 10 minutes away. We also went white water rafting at Maupin and had a great time. If you make it over to Maupin, check out White River Falls state park--awesome!! You can get in the water there and play in the falls. In the evenings, we enjoyed the pool room at the house (my grandson refered to it as "The Lodge"). -

We have had the pleasure of many visits to this outstanding ZigZag River home. The warmth and spaciousness is wonderful, but the river and outdoors really sets this vacation home apart from the usual.
During the winter there might be snow (there was this year!) and the ski resorts are just minutes up the road to Ski Bowl and Timberline. We love the cozy rooms, and there is room for TV watching while some others are playing games in the living room with the wood stove.
You will want to come back again and again once you stay here.
