Description from the owner
Our 19th century farmhouse is situated deep in the Aveyron countryside with lovely views from our 2 acre garden. Away from it all but only 5 km from our local town of Rieupeyroux which has all amenities including supermarkets, restaurants, bars, swimming pool and cinema.
Our 2 gites have been renovated to high standards, retaining many original features (stone walls, oak beams) and decorated in classic french style. Our 4-6 person gite (Honeysuckle) has 2 ensuite bedrooms and a large open plan living space with views of the garden from all rooms. Our 2-3 person gite (Figuier) is a luxury barn conversion on 2 levels and comprises a large...Read more

Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaA breath of fresh air

I recently spent my third visit at Joy & Gray's gite and it won't be my last. Joy, Gray and Oliver are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to make your visit a truly relaxing experience. They have decorated the gites to retain the old historical character of the buildings, but with all the modern conveniences the weary traveller could want. Their property is wonderfully situated, with a 360 degree view of the local countryside - so relaxing. Spend your days exploring the many medieval villages in the area, enjoying fabulous local foods & wines. Buy something delicious at the local markets, or treat yourself to one of Joy's excellent catered meals, which come complete with a generous offering of the local wines.
Or spend a day at the new Millau Viaduct or the caves at Roquefort.
This is definitely a totally relaxing holiday destination, somewhere you can unwind and enjoy rural France at its best. -

Our gite was airy, comfortable and well appointed, with all we needed to rustle up meals using the great local produce but I thoroughly recommend sampling Joy's delicious home cooking. The gite's location is lovely with fabulous views in all directions - the sunsets were something else. There are many beautiful towns and fairy-tale castles in easy reach, Belcastel is a must-see. We have travelled a lot in France but this area has so much offer to that we ran out of time to fit it all in, so we definitely plan a return to this amazing region.

Clean comfortable accomodation with everything that you may require. Two good size bedrooms both with en suite facilities and a fully equipped kitchen. Beautiful countryside views from all windows and two pet donkeys to feed with apples from the orchard whenever you wanted.
The McLaughlin family were very welcoming and were always happy to provide any assistance that you needed and were very informative about the local area and the French way of life. Garden produce and home cooked meals to a very high standard were also available if required.
Set within quiet rural countryside, it was lovely to experience the French way of life first hand. There was plenty to do & see with many small medieval towns nearby. -

Nice location, friendly owners, terrific food. Views of country side fantastic, with sunsets the best ever. The donkeys in their field made our stay more enjoyable. The gite was tidy, clean and very, very comfortable. It was quiet and very restful. My sister, who booked this holiday, has been back to this destination for two weeks last year, and has a 3 week booking this year in September. She does not have a computer, but wishes to be added to this review.
