Apartment Il Fienile (50 M2 - 4 beds - with private terrace)

This lovely acommodation for two is in a converted barn just a few meters distant from the main farmhouse and has two entrances from its spaciuous tiled terrace from where there are superb views down the river Arno valley and to the florentine's hills.

The apartment is made up of an equipped kitchen to the left of the entrance hall, and on the right a bathroom with shower. There are stairs that lead to the open plan upper floor divided by a wall and two curtain...s into 3 parts: a sleeping area with double bed, another sleeping area with 2 single beds, a dining area with table and seating. The room is very light with large panoramic windows looking over the valley. There are terracotta floors and beamed ceilings.

Outside a 140 saure meteres panoramic terrace with outstanding views, with table, chairs and deckchairs.

The advantage of this house is that is isolated and silent but, at the same time, really close to Florence and within easy reach of Siena, Arezzo and the Chianti region. In the nearby, in the villages of Pontassieve or Rignano (both 10 Min. by car), you have all the principles services: supermarkets, shops, banks, railway station (with lot of connections to Florence central station, five minutes walking from the Duomo), markets, restaurants and many others.

The holiday house is surrounded by a huge garden full of trees and flowers, with views over the famous Tuscany hills, inside wich an “above ground” swimming pool has been installed in a reneweld grassy area.

There are lots of things to do when you are at the house: it can be funny to take some walks in the green outside the villa, with vineyards and olive trees beside you, or "picking" vegetables directly from the garden, or discover ancient villas and romantic churches in the close old wine road of Chianti Rufina and Pomino full off cellars where you can taste the typical local red wine.

Only five km far from the house you can visit the famous Outlet store The Mall in wich you can find the most important Brands and Griffes such as Gucci, Ferraga mo, Armani, Yves saint Laurent and many others.

The Valdisieve and the Valdarno areas are still quiet unknown and not turistic but really full of attractions: wine road of chianti Rufina e Pomino, monastery of Vallombrosa (12° century), Poppi (village with artisan of cast iron) and ZOO for the children, Park of Casentino's forests, the small medieval village of Pelago and his wandeful nearby, the forest of La Consuma (around 1000 mt high), the medieval city of Arezzo, and much more.Read more

We are located in the municipality of Rignano sull'Arno in the Valdarno Region, just 20 km and 30 minutes driving from Florence.

1 km far from the house, in the village of Torri, there is a bus stop with courses to Florence and Pontassieve (where you have many connection to town with bus or train), in this village there is also a grocery sotre and a restaurant.

Parking is free at the house. In the village of Pontassieve, 5 km from the house, there are many train connection with Florence central station.

Distances: Florence: 20 Kms, Sienna: 80 Kms, Pisa (airport) about 100 Kms, Arezzo: 65 Kms;

Poppi and the Casentino area: 50 Kms, Greve and the Chianti area: 38 Kms

How to arrive:

Autostrada (Highway) A1- Exit "Firenze Sud".
Once went out from the highway turn right following signs for Bagno a Ripoli-Pontassieve, go ahead for 11 km then turn right towards Rosano, go ahead following signs San Donato-Torri-Volognano, then follow sign for San Donato Volognano, after 4 km you have the Castle of Volognano on your left. Go ahead for approx. 1,2 km and take the second turn on the left following the sign POGGIO DI TORRI (the road climb a little), go ahead for 1 km and you will see some red mail boxes on your left, turn right passing through 2 blocks of houses (do not take the little road towards Chiara e Lorenzo), then the road becomes untarred follow it down and round to the left (keep the vineyards on your left), after 1,2 km approx. you will see a big house with cipresses surrounded by a big wall, go ahead passing through the cipresses row(leaving the house on your right), and after few meters follow the left you see another house and it ends at the Favilletta
