Anchorage, AKGreat home away from home
Left on 04/14/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at Casa Edala. Casa Edala is located in a residential area and walking distance to the beach, grocery store and restaurants. We had everything we needed - fully furnished and all the comforts of home - it was a great home away from home! We had great walks on the beach and it was nice to relax in the evenings with a private pool of our own. A great home supported by super people - Thank you Ed & Ala!

Los AngelesSpring Vacation in in Rincon
Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We stayed at Casa Elada for 7 nights and it was exactly what we wanted. Its a three minute walk to a beautiful beach, it isn't perfectly sandy, there is a dead reef you have to watch out for but that describes pretty much every beach in Rincon. A three minute walk along that beach brings you to the best swimming beach in Rincon although because of the seclusion of the closer beach we mostly swam at there. So nice to be able to hose off after the beach and go for a swim. You will need a car as central Rincon is about a 8 minute drive but there are restaurants and bars you can walk to. Very comfortable, so nice to have air conditioning. Would recommend it to anyone. Great value.

My first stay was during the holidays in 2011- I liked it so much, I decided to come back during my sabbatical. I spent three months enjoying the swimming pool in the back yard as well as proximity to the best surfing and swimming beaches in PR.
The property and amenities are neatly landscaped and well-maintained. You will especially enjoy the "veranda" and spend many nights with friends listening to the local fauna. -

We arrived at the property at 8:30 PM, after unlocking 4 gates and the front door we were inside. We were in the house less then 5 minutes when our son saw a cockroach. Other problems with the property include: smelly dishwasher, ants, broken outdoor shower, leaves in the pool, the internet is not wireless, and roosters crowing at dawn. The beds were ok, it is very close to the beach, and the living room furniture was comfortable.

We are so sorry our guests were disappointed in their stay. This is also the first time any of our guests have found our security measures ( actually 3 gates and a locked front door) too excessive. However, we have found such measures necessary to protect our belongings and thows of our guests.
While one cockroach may be one too many, this is the tropics. We routinely use a pest control service once per month. However, for our guests we will increase this service to twice per month.
As for the leaves in the pool, I do apologize that our pool service was late in arriving, he had vehicle trouble. However, he did arrive shortly after our guests arrived. As an aside, we could have removed all trees and plantings from the property but, that would have spoiled the inviting atmosphere.
We do provoide internet service. Not WiFi. This is a vacation villa not a subsidiary office and internet service can be spotty. This is Puerto Rico.
Our villa is located in one of Rincon's finest neighborhoods. It offers guests a Puerto Rican experience at an extremely reasonalbe rate. The roosters have never presented any of our guests a problem. I really don't think these guests were prepared for what this quaint little town has to offer. They really must have had false expecations. Which points to their inexperience.

Williamstown, Ontario , CanadaAn enjoyable and relaxining vacation .
Left on 05/26/2012 for a stay in March 2012
My husband and I decided to rent a villa instead of going to another resort. We were bringing two 16 year old teenage girls with us. They enjoyed their vacation time together (they are best friends). My husband and I both enjoyed the villa and the surrounding area. You definately need to have a vehicle in order to do your grocery shopping and sightseeing. We are glad we rented a vehicle. We also leased a GPS but we found it difficult with the different input of address compared to Canadian addresses, at least for me. Other people might not find it difficult. We took the girls zip-lining and para-sailing. My husband and I also managed to brave the adventure of para-sailing, we're not very adventurous. Everyone should try para-sailing it is so quite up there with only the birds.
On another note the pool pump was making a horrendous noise. Contacted Ed, and he was very prompt at having it fixed. Fantastic renovations on villa. I would recommend this rental to anyone, you will have no regrets.Response from Ed & Ala O'Leary - 06/26/2012

This is a 2 unit place. The upstairs unit, where we stayed was recently remodeled. The balcony/porch was under construction, so it did detract from the aesthetics. The lower unit was being remodeled, but it didn't affect our stay. The pool was great. The location was OK, with good access to the beach. However it is a residential neighborhood, so be ready for some noise. Neighbors were nice. We definitely had a fun vacation.

Left on 09/09/2010 for a stay in June 2010
this is definately the place for you. This apartment is under 100 yards from the beach which is very quiet and has good snorkelling. Every beach we visited on this end of the island was quiet and undeveloped. A towel under a shady palm and you're set. Tres Palmas marine reverve (about 5 mins away) was great snorkelling too. Our kids 12 & 14 were never bored - they spent all day exploring the coral reefs. The apt is great, clean, well furnished. The pool was pristine. We had to call the property manager as the power went out in the whole neighborhood, she responded very quickly, in good English. The sunsets were amazing - take your wine and cheese and sit and watch. We would stay here again. Wonderfully relaxing

Ed and ana O'Leary's Casa Edala was just about as perfect a little hideaway as one could expect. During a 6 day vacation with young children 10 and 6, our family was more than pleased with the accomodations. Having a private pool with an outdoor shower at our disposal was just about a perfect addition to a wonderful beach and snorkeling vacation.
Comfortably situated 3 mins from Rincon Center and nice 10 minute drive to wonderful Steps Beach and Puntas, Casa Edala allowed us to take advantage of the Rincon center while staying just far away to feel removed from the hustle and bustle. supermarkets and restaurants are all close by which added to the convenience.
Overall, I would highly recommend a stay at Casa Edala to anyone. -

The house had everything we needed, and was in a great location just a few blocks from the beach. Great air conditioning, plenty of beach towels, chairs, etc. Comfortable beds, it was very clean and we enjoyed our stay very much. The snorkeling on steps beach was some of the best we have seen in the caribbean. The kids loved the pool.

We were quit pleased to find the pictures of the Villa were acurate. We we arrived a bit early, before the goodies arrived. Yes goodies, Ed's cleaning person had not arrived with the local cookies, coffee and other delights. What a surprise!! So we invited the young lady and her husband to join us for some libations.
The location is in a local neiborhood. Great, because you are away from the tourists. Very friendly area. Roosters and all. You are two blocks from a very nice beach. But the best part is to come back to your own private pool. Plenty of places to eat just a short walk away.
This place comes fully equipped, everything you need to make your vacation enjoyable. Hey Ed the blender needs to be replaced. We could not make any Pina Colatas. Oh well at least there was plenty of ice. So we had to drink rum and tonic, such a crisis.
We liked everthing about our stay. We can't say anything bad about the villa or Rincon. We'll go back again.
Thanx Ed
Jim

My wife and three children recently returned from a week's vacation to Rincon, Puerto Rico. We researched the area and because of the children we wanted a good swimming beach and perhaps a swimming pool on the property. To our pleasant surprise we found Casa Edala in the Corcega Beach section of Rincon. This beautiful guest house has been totally remodeled and decorator furnished and right in the middle of a cozy neighborhood. It also has a gorgeous swimming pool and gazebo located in a tropical courtyard setting. If you love to cook, as I do, you'll make great use of a really neat charcoal grill in the patio. The house is a 3 bedroom unit complete with AC, Cable TV, internet, full kitchen and bath with hot water and a washer and dryer.
Corcega Beach is a beautiful swimming beach, especially for children and it is only a two minute walk down the street from Casa Edala. The house itself is also a short walk to restaurants, food stores and there is also a terrific children's playscape just down the street.
Ed and Ala, are very warm and friendly hosts and their property manager Antonio is especially gracious. He arranged to have an assortment of pastries, water, milk and coffee in the frig upon our arrival. This was a very nice and classy gesture and started our first day on a great note. Antonio also indicated he'd be a phone call away should we need anything.
We have vacationed in Rincon a number of times. It has the easy going relaxing atmosphere we want and you can be as active or laid back as you'd like. I would consider the accomodations at Casa Edala superior and a great value for your money. I want to thank our hosts for all their attentiveness. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return visit in the future.

New Britain, CT.A VERY PRIVATE AND RELAXING STAY
Left on 06/15/2009 for a stay in June 2009
My husband, four year old daughter and I just got back from a week in Rincon, Puerto Rico and I want to acknowledge our hosts Ed and Ala at Casa Edala for a really fantastic stay. Some dear friends of ours had told us of this vacation house that had just opened up in the Corcega Beach section of Rincon. Corcega Beach is south of the center of town and it?s perhaps the best swimming beach in the area. The house itself is a two minute walk to the beach and it?s located in a neighborhood with warm and friendly people. One amenity that we especially liked, considering we have a young daughter was the gorgeous swimming pool located within the courtyard complete with gazebo. I?m thinking not may houses have pools and this luxury made our stay extremely relaxing and enjoyable as we didn?t have to go to the beach whenever we felt the need to cool off.
After making several inquiries to Ed and Ala, which made us feel very comfortable about renting the unit, we booked our flights. Shortly after our arrival in Rincon, we were greeted by our surrogate host Antonio who had previously filled our refrigerator with ?goodies? and he thoroughly oriented us to the area highlighting notable restaurants, recreational activities and local places of interest. Antonio also urged us to call him if the need arose. Having an English speaking person available made us feel very comfortable.
The house itself is a completely remodeled and spacious 2nd floor 3 bedroom unit complete with AC, Cable TV, internet, full kitchen and bath with hot water and a washer and dryer. It is also beautifully furnished. Outside near the pool deck is a charcoal grill that my husband used on several occasions. It?s true food tastes better outside with no shoes on. In short, the house has every functionality that a vacation stay would require. A unique quality of Casa Edala is you can be as independent and private as you are comfortable with as you dictate the pace of your vacation. Casa Edala has none of the hubbub that one would associate with a bigger impersonal resort or hotel.
In summary, we want to thank our hosts for all their kindness. We could not have been happier and we look forward to returning next year.
