      Awesome beach and island holiday!

Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in May 2013

We had a wonderful vacation, staying at Casa Serena! The location of the apartment right at the beach and off main roads is just perfect. Swimming just after getting up, snorkeling at Step Beach only minutes away, a visit to the arecibo Observatorium, the Bioluminescence Bay in the South that still allows swimming, light houses etc, and evenings at the beach bar of Villa Cofresi, a short walk along the beach - it was a great experience. There is even some bioluminescence directly at the beach in front of the house!
We all agreed that we would like to return some day.

      Outstanding!

Left on 05/11/2013 for a stay in April 2013

      What a great place.
By the time we got to Rincon on our first evening, it was dark, rainy and it had been a long day of travel. We grabbed some food from the local Chinese restaurant and got settled. The next morning was when our vacation truly began and it started with a clear blue sky and the sound of waves crashing on the beach.
      We had arrived in paradise!
      Highlights:
Breakfast on the patio watching the Pelicans fish
Beach time with the boys everyday - So easy when the beach is 20 yards from the backdoor
      Pina Colada's & Medalla beer
Watching the boys chase lizards around the yard and never getting close
Sunsets every evening watching the Pelicans and drinking a beer or two
The service you get from the owner is the best I have ever experienced, both in getting you prepped for your stay and the local property managers. They were great with our boys and made sure our stay was trouble free.

      Great Vacation Getaway!

Left on 04/20/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We returned to Casa Serena for the second time. We love the beautiful beach and sunsets. It's lovely to have a yard with an amazing view and just steps to the water for a swim. The house is clean and everything is there that you might need. We ate most of our meals there as the view is so spectacular. We visited a beach in Cabo Rojo (about an hour's drive) that was lovely. This is a great location away from the hustle and bustle of San Juan. We will definitely return again. Thank you Nancy and Gladys!

      A Wonderful Family Vacation

Left on 04/20/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We recently spent a wonderful 2 weeks at Casa Serena. The house and beach are exactly as advertised. Our 7 year old spent endless hours playing on the beach; it really is a wonderful swimming beach. Snorkelling there was fun too. Most days, especially during the week, we had the beach to ourselves. On the weekends, it would get busier, but there were never more than 10-20 people on the beach. The location of the house is fantastic as Rincon is a really nice, laid-back Caribeean town. There are plenty of other beautiful and interesting beaches in the area (it was fun to watch the surfers at other beaches). We had fun discovering nice little shops (Playa Oeste Gallery, Playero, Malibu and Mango Beach Shop to name a few) and the many delicious restaurants nearby (Lucky 13 Bar and Grill, Lazy Parrot and Parrilleria were our favourites). Edwards Supermarket is just up the street and had everything we needed. The house was very functional and very comfortable. It had plenty of patio, beach furniture, beach toys and towels. The kitchen was well-equipped and the beds were really comfortable. We had no problems at the house whatsoever. Gladys did stop by to make sure we were settled. A car is essential as it is a lot of fun to explore the local area to its fullest.

I stayed at Casa Serena and I absolutely loved it!!
Being a world traveler and despite the kind of person who is skeptical about new unfamiliar places, I found my pre- trip conversations with the owner of the house, Nancy, very comforting.
When I arrived, I discovered that the house and its property were exactly what I hoped they would be.
I am looking forward to coming back with my family next year!!

We had a week of paradise at the ocean front. Casa Tamara is a fun, 50's style, beach house ready to host families of size. Six bedrooms served us well. Great beach for sand play, snorkeling, boogie boarding etc. A good place for a "mid winter attitude adjustment". We loved the al frasco dining.

We loved being right on the beach in Casa Serena!

Left on 02/21/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Casa Serena is a duplex (side-by-side 2-bedroom units) on the beach. It is comfortable, simply and tastefully decorated, and well equipped, with lots of nice small touches. It was great to walk outside and be on our lawn, bordering the beach. Nancy Renee is a concerned and attentive owner and she has a very competent local manager. The location is good - right in Rincon and near grocery shopping and some restaurants. It's part of a Puerto Rican neighbothood, so you get a feel for life there and experience the sights and sounds that come with that (roosters running around and crowing, dogs barking, etc.).

We had a wonderful time in Rincon. The house was just magical. We used the kitchen most days for breakfast and then went out exploring for dinner. I think my favorite was Rincon Tropical. Your guide was very very helpful throughout our stay. I didn't want to leave and would love to come back. We are hoping to someday get family and friends and rent out the whole Casa Serena or Casa Tamara. Just a dream right now but maybe someday!

      Absolutely Fantastic Vacation

Left on 11/29/2012 for a stay in November 2012

      Absolutely Fantastic

We had the best family vacation we've ever had. Casa Serena is in the best location and has the best beach for children and "middle aged" adults. It is on a calm beach. Surfers may want one of the surfing beaches, but for a family, this was the best.

We had everything we could think of, including beach toys and games and puzzles for the children. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were lots of beach chairs, loungers, hammocks and even beach towels.

The owner was terrific from the first contact to check out. She gave us lots of information about the area, maps, tourist suggestions before our trip and was available all the time when we had a question. The caretakers were also great, bringing tropical fruit from their garden and stopping by to check if we needed anything.

We loved the beach at Casa Serena. There was even great snorkeling right out front. We also went to the caves, the dry forest and the Bio luminescent Bay, which we all loved, going out in kayaks. We went horse back riding on the beach and in a boat to Desecheo Island.

There was so much to do, we had to choose what to leave for our next trip. The weather was great, the people were friendly, it was just terrific! Thanks for a great vacation. We are already planning our next trip to Casa Serena.

Great location on the beach, Owner not pleasnt to deal with

Left on 10/17/2012 for a stay in October 2012

I have rented many properties and reviewed many hotels, restaurants, vacation rentals, etc. This rental was as advertised and was slightly more expensive than others but we decided to stay because it was right on the beach.

The condition of the house was not 'new' and many of the linens and furniture were well used by other travelers but the property was pretty true to photos. We didn't have any issues with the property itself except the showers are very very badly in need of a cleaning and the water pressure is horrible. Having a full kitchen and washer and dryer was great, when you could use them.

When I first contacted the owner I spent about 1 hour on the phone with her assuring her I was a reliable renter and getting the details of the area. I appreciated that she spent so much time sending us information up front. I didn't realize at the time that she is definitely over-invested in the property for an owner and the amount of time it took me to just secure the property in the first place would be indicative of future issues.

The washer was not functioning on the property when we arrived and I needed to wash clothes, the first day we were there I put a load to wash and the place flooded. I cleaned the mess and spoke to the neighbors who also had water on their side of Casa Serena, they assured me it was fine and they would clean it. They called the owner to inquire why we were not notified the washer was broken and the owner in turn called me yelling at me while I was driving for 1/2 an hour.

I assured her we did all we could to clean the water, the property was not damaged and we spoke to the neighbors offering to clean the water on their side. We even called the caretaker and she said that she should have put a sign up but failed to do so and it was her fault, not ours. The owner responded that they don't expect renters to wash clothing on the first day (which is absurd given that things can spill or if someone has kids..) and that she called at 10pm and spoke to one of the other women with me who was stung by a jellyfish in the water outside the property that night and had taken benadryl and didn't even remember the owner calling. In the end the owner unnecessarily upset me when the situation was handled and the neighboring renters weren't even upset.

The owner was very hard to deal with, the property cost more than we really needed to spend in Rincon given the high number of other properties available. Its not worth the effort to deal with such a high strung owner. I had high hopes for this property but the altercation with the owner on the first day of the rental tainted the rest of our stay. We even left the property cleaner than we found it for fear of her calling again to have yet another altercation.

Customer service and relationships with renters is very important, if you want a hassle free vacation where an owner will not call and yell at you...don't rent this property.

I am very sorry that you were unhappy with the service provided. You are correct that I am very invested in taking care of our house and providing everything possible for our guests. I do screen our guests before renting in order to assure that we have responsible people renting our home. As you noted, the washing machine was not working, because previous guests had not shaken out sand from towels or clothes and the pipes were totally clogged with sand. I did call the first night you arrived to tell you that the washing machine was not working but that there was another one available for your use. The woman who answered the phone did say she understood and would tell the other guests with you that the washing machine could temporarily not be used, but there was another one next door that was available anytime. When the other guests called to tell me that the washing machine was flooding the house, I was indeed very upset that you had used the machine. We do not expect guests to use the washing machine as soon as they arrive; you did explain that you had stayed someplace else for a previous week and brought your dirty clothes with you. I am sorry that you thought I was yelling at you, I apologize for that. Again, it is true that I am very involved in the renting and care of our home and 99% of the time, this is much appreciated by our guests, as noted in many of our reviews.

      Beautiful Beach

Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012

This beautiful property is located on a fabulous stretch of beach. Walk out the door, cross the yard, and ...aaah! There is also an great view from the patio. Everything was excactly as advertised. This was our 1st experience with a vacation rental, and I was apprehensive at first. I called Nancy and started the rental process. She was great to work with. Nancy sent tons of information about Rincon and the property. Her directions from San Juan were excellent. We had a lot of activities planned, but it was so relaxing at the house, we could hardly tear ourselves away.
The house is a duplex, well appointed and spacious, with washer/dryer that really was convenient. Nancy also ownes the property next door. It was fun to meet the first set of neighbors, and we never saw the second set, so we felt like we had the place to ourselves.
Gladys, the property manager was excellent. She came by to check on us and make sure all was as it should be. The only problem we had was an issue with the alarm due to a power outage. It was promptly taken care of. Nancy also called to make sure everything was okay.
This is a perfect place for a relaxing get away. We enjoyed coffee on the patio, eating mangos from the tree in the yard and cooking on the grill. There are pleny of restaurants in walking distance and even more if you have a car. Eduardo's market is a couple of blocks away and great for staples. There is also a larger supermarket close by. There is off-street parking.
As nice as the house is, the beach was even better. We spent hours reading, swimming, snorkling, walking and looking for beach glass. We can't wait to go back.

      Dear Nancy,
Our accommodations at Casa Serena exceeded our expectations. It truly was a wonderful place to stay with a lovely yard filled with all sorts of trees, places to sit and the great beach to swim, snorkel and explore. We spent hours and hours swimming and snorkeling in the warm water or sitting on the beach in the shade under the trees. One morning we saw porpoises or dolphins not far off shore. We were very happy to have brought a snorkel and mask but next time we will bring one for each of us because the sheer variety and numbers of beautiful fish we saw kept luring us back into the water. The beach at this location is also very clean. Casa Serena was very comfortable with ceiling fans, air conditioning, super comfy beds, on-site laundry, boogie boards and floats, large TV, WiFi, and a kitchen that we used constantly for our family of four. We felt very welcome and thanks for all the information you provided to make our stay easier. Rincon offered lots of activities and we had really great food at the local restaurants. Our two adult daughters also thought this was a great place to stay and just couldn't believe we were right on such a beautiful beach as well. Thanks so much for thinking of everything.

      Great vacation at the beach!

Left on 03/27/2012 for a stay in March 2012

This vacation exceeded my personal expectations. We were very comfortable and at home in Casa Serena. The amenities like the master king sized bed, 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen, internet access, dish TV, nice furnishings, shared washer and dryer, outside beach showers, outdoor seating, hammock, grill, etc. were well used and appreciated by us. The neighborhood-Stella seems to be composed of a nice mix of locals and some tourists; it has nearby bakeries with freshly baked and delicious quesitos, grocery stores with fresh fruits and the versatile plaintain, local resturants with classic Puerto Rican cuisine, a nice mix of tourist, local and surf shops and also fast food for hungry teenagers who want a pizza or Burger King. Nancy has done a very thorough job detailing the local community in a handy information packet ( a copy is on the coffee table too). I appreciated Nancy's appropriate concern and communications when discussing our desire to stay at Casa Serena wanting to ensure that everyone's (including the other guests') vacations would be enjoyable and peaceful. The other guests at Casa Serena, Mike and Pat from Vermont, were very pleasant. The location seemed ideal with a nicely landcaped tropical backyard that opens directly onto a very nice long stretch of a fine sandy beach; a large almond tree is very conveniently located near the back gate and provides a nicely shaded rest area. The people on the beach were friendly and respectful. The water was interestingly calm enough to swim with my 13 year old son but there was enough surf to boogy board near the shore. In the ocean close to the shore there are large flat shelves of rock covered with a thin layer of vegetation that we would walk on barefoot (waist deep) out into the ocean, then at the ledge (4 to 6 feet deep) we would swim around, snorkle or just float. The water clarity was okay with some brightly colored tropical fish seen around the rock ledges. On the beach there are nearby rentals- long surf boards with paddles, jet skis, group water rides, etc. There are a variety of other nearby beahes in Rincon including some with world class surfing (World Surfing Championships held there in 1968 and 1988, we just missed a Corona sponsored competition there by 2 weeks at nearby Dome's beach in Rincon)), next time I want to include some long board lessons for me (rated 5/5 by others on this website). I hope we will be able to return to Casa Serena and enjoy another week at the beach sometime soon. Thank you Nancy and Gloria.

For those who haven't been to Puerto Rico: My wife is from Puerto Rico and so we have visited her family and the island numerous times. I am from the midwest, so when I first visited the island I had to become accustomed with a mild language barrier especially in the nontourist areas (be patient and understanding most people understand English well enough but may be somewhat less detailed when speaking it) and with driving in Puerto Rico especially during their rush hour traffic around San Juan (I have found it enhanced by having a reasonable confidence, healthy caution and a respectful awareness of others on the road).

A slice of heaven in Rincon

Left on 12/22/2011 for a stay in November 2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our one week vacation at Casa Serena, a beach-front home in Rincon, Puerto Rico. The location at the edge of the Caribbean Sea is ideal, and the ocean vistas are second to none. The yard is among the best in the area - with grass, shrubbery, hammocks under the shade of the palm trees, beach chairs, lounges and beach toys, which we used every day. The private outdoor patio is an ideal place to enjoy meals, read a book or magazine, relax, enjoy the sunsets and socialize. As you walk through the garden gate, you step out onto a secluded, clean, sandy beach and warm water stretching for miles.

The property administrators are very accommodating, friendly, personable and professional in their management of the property.

The home itself is clean and very well appointed with all the items needed to enhance your stay. Bath towels, beach towels, cooking utensils and dishes are all provided. The residence is air conditioned and there are ceiling fans in every room. The king-sized beds are very comfortable. We were surprised to find a flat screen TV in the home - but we did not watch it as the views outside the door far exceed any shows available on TV. The washer and dryer in the laundry room are a bonus!

There are excellent restaurants a walkable distance from the home on Route 115. If you prefer to do your own cooking, there are two supermarkets in the area. There are many other shops, restaurants, etc. convenient to this location.

It was a pleasure dealing with the owner,a very professional, accommodating and helpful individual.

We all had a very relaxing vacation and look forward to a return visit. All in all, this is a neat, clean professionally run guest house in an excellent area of Rincon. We highly recommend Casa Serena.

My wife and her parents and I stayed at this house. The house is clean and well maintained. The house is just steps from the beach and it was like living inside a post card. Nancy is a person of her word and her rates are highly reasonable. The location can not be beat. I can't wait to return.

      Puerto Rican Dream vacation.

Left on 10/25/2011 for a stay in October 2011

Everything at Casa Serena was perfect. For several years I had been dreaming up my perfect beach vacation: I wanted to be right on the beach, beautiful landscaping with trees, able to cook some meals but also find good restaurants to go to. I wanted peace and quiet. I didn't want a high-rise condo several blocks away from a crowded beach. Casa Serena in every aspect lived up to my dream.
My daughter and I were very comfortable in the nice clean house and enjoyed the peacefulness and beauty of the beach. Everything in the house worked fine. We never turned on the TV so I can't comment on that, but that was exactly what I wanted.
After having walked up and down the beach I can safely say that Casa Serena has the best location and is the niceset and best maintained property I saw. Several friends have already shown interest in the property and I have highly recommended Casa Serena to them.

Adventures and relaxation in Puerto Rico

Left on 06/22/2011 for a stay in June 2011

      Hi Nancy,

We had a wonderful time in Puerto Rico. Casa Serena was a perfect base for us. Every morning we woke up and took a walk on the beach. We walked for miles just exploring the different beach areas. We found the west side of the island to be the most beautiful and relaxing. My husband even surprised me with a beach ceremony where we renewed our wedding vows. It was really wonderful. There was so much to do on the island. We went to the caves, the bio bay, the rain forest, Old San Juan, Ponce, numerous beaches along the west and south coasts. Of course we also had to go to Cayey for the famous pork. It was definitely worth the trip. The only problem was that we ran out of time and couldn't explore everything. I guess that means we'll have to visit again.

The accomodations were great and everything went very well. Edward's Supermarket was so close that we were able to run out anytime and have what we needed in a few minutes. The kitchen was well equipped with all the gadgets and serving items necessary. Thanks so much to Hector for bringing over the star fruit. It was delicious.

The maps you sent and Rincon guide were very helpful. We fell in love with Puerto Rico. It's so hard to be back in Chicago without the Caribbean in our back yard. Thanks for everything you did to help make our vacation one of the most memorable we will have.

      Lovely Retreat on Private Beach

Left on 05/05/2011 for a stay in November 2011

Casa Serena was a lovely retreat for our family. The house was just the perfect size for our family of 4 and nestled on a private beach with a beautiful fenced in yard. Our boys loved being able to go outside in the yard and play with their dinosaurs in the gorgeous palms adorning the yard while waiting for us to take them on to the beach. The hammock was a perfect makeshift swing for the little ones. he house had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Grocery stores, restaurants, and the awesome panaderias were very close by which made for an easy morning run for fresh "pan" or any items we forgot. The "pan" was so amazing that I had to do everything in my power to keep my 4 year old from eating the entire loaf before we returned home for breakfast. To this day, he asks for his "Puertorican bread", and I've sought out the next best thing at home. The beach was perfectly white and sandy with lovely palms jetting out of the yards toward the water. We enjoyed playing in the waves and digging in the sand, and the boys enjoyed catching as many crabs as they could on the beach. (just tiny little hermit crabs) Both boys became quite adept at it despite my husband and my natural hesitation to pick up something that pinches. We've been to Rincon once before (sans kiddos) and absolutely love the area. If you are looking for something serene, friendly and cultured away from San Juan, then this is your place. When we return, Casa Serena or Tamara will be where we stay. Additionally, Nancy was very easy to work with and is very well organized. Her caretakers, Glady and Hector, are personable, friendly, and extremely helpful. They are genuinely lovely people who care about the property and your stay. We can't thank you enough for a spectacular time and look forward to our next visit.

      Amazing sunsets and so relaxing

Left on 03/31/2011 for a stay in March 2011

We spent a week at Casa Serena in the middle of March. I had looked at this property two years ago but it was already booked so we stayed elsewhere in Rincon. Casa Serena was really a wonderful relaxing spot. We loved having the yard and the hammock was a hit. Someone was always in it. The beach was beautiful and we swam all the time as well as walked as far as we could in both directions. We only ate out twice as we loved the view from our patio! The sunsets were incredible every night. We found great snorkeling on the other side of town near Taino Divers and took an afternoon trip to Crash Boat Beach where we also went snorkling. It was worth the drive. We loved buying our produce from the vendors along the road including hot sauce that was amazing and delicious honey. The bananas were so sweet. This is definitely a wonderful spot and we will hopefully return again and again. The house is great - everything that you need and Gladys stopped in on our first day to make sure that we had everything. Thanks, Nancy, for a wonderful spot!

      Fantastic Vacation!

Left on 03/16/2011 for a stay in March 2011

We loved our week-long stay at Casa Serena. The house was perfect for the three of us, and had everything we needed for the week - cooking utensils, pots and pans, a grill, beach towels, sand toys, and a breezy spot for a hammock. The fenced-in grass yard was perfect for our 10-month old daughter to play in when she wasn't taste testing the sand on the beach. The big tree hanging over the beach behind the house was where we spent most of time, it provided great shade for us. The house was very clean and inviting when we arrived, and it was so nice for you to call and check on us to make sure we made it, after driving at night from San Juan. It was also nice to have laundry facilities.

Rincon is a very laidback town, with all the conveniences we needed, along with great restaurants and things to do. We spent almost every morning at El Faro watching the surfers catch waves. We stopped at the local ice cream shop to try the maiz corn with cinnamon we read about - a strange combination, but delicious! We also took day trips to the Guanica Forest Preserve and Ponce, which were easy to reach from Rincon. We are already discussing when we can return! We loved it!

Casa Serena is nearly Heaven on Earth

Left on 03/14/2011 for a stay in February 2011

      Nancy,

Casa Serena is a slice of heaven on earth. We had a wonderful time in Rincon and greatly enjoyed our stay at Casa Serena. What a delightful spot - right on the beach for watching the sunsets, listening to the waves break, and gazing at the pelicans diving into the water. After a hectic winter work season it was a joy to lay in the hammock for hours just reading and snoozing. I had no idea that such a contraption would be so comfortable.

The home is located conveniently to a variety of stores that for days the car didn't leave the property in favor of walking to Edwards food store or to the Econo or the liquor store or donut shop or wherever.

As a runner I appreciated the proximity to 413 and 4413 and having the opportunity to see the horizon filled with surfers atop the waves.

The western section of the island was perfect for the day trips to the interior. We did make it to Lares for the wonderful visit to the ice cream shop known for its strange but flavorful variety of ice creams.

We want to come back again and again.

The house had the perfect accommodations for us and was pleasantly and comfortably appointed, furnished and spacious. I got spoiled by having two bathrooms. The place was spotless when we arrived (and hopefully we left it in as good order for the next people). You thought of just about every detail to make us feel at home. The kitchen was well stocked with all the dishes, utensils, and appliances that made meal preparations convenient and easy. We hadn't made pina coladas in years - thank you for the blender. Knowing that a washer and dryer would be available made the packing easier - we took far less clothing items than in other times and that made life easier, too.

It was our good fortunate to find Casa Serena.

      Until next time,

We couldn't have chosen a better place for our family vacation in Rincon. The house was clean, equipped with everything we needed, beautifully decorated, and best of all, we had a fabulous view of the Caribbean, just steps from our front door. There is a backyard with trees so that I could read in the shade while the others were swimming right in front of the house. The town of Rincon has lots to do and there were too many possible day trips for our short stay of one week. The caretakers were great and very helpful and the owner, Nancy is a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end, but hopefully there won't be an end! Casa Serena is a short walk to the supermarket and restaurants. What more can I say? We already reserved 2 weeks for next year. Thank you, Sel

      The Perfect Beach Vacation

Left on 02/02/2011 for a stay in January 2011

What a wonderful two weeks we had at Casa Serena in January 2011! The house is an absolutely perfect place for a safe, carefree vacation. The kitchen has been recently remodeled with a new stove, refrigerator and cabinets. Perhaps most importantly, the beds are king size and super comfortable.

But the real joy of Casa Serena is outside. The attached outdoor covered patio is part of a large garden area with trees, lawn chairs and a couple hammocks which we used a lot. You step thru the garden gate right onto the beach. Warm sun, clean sand, uncluttered beach, and ocean vistas that stretch for miles were ours.

Put the welcoming atmosphere of Casa Serena together with the ocean and we had a fun, relaxing, carefree vacation. Thanks to Gladys and Hector, the caretakers, for taking good care of us while we were there and to Nancy Renee for providing this special place in Rincon. We will be back next year for our third vacation in Rincon and for an even longer stay at Casa Serena.

Left on 12/22/2010 for a stay in December 2010

We have been to Rincon 3 times and this is the best place we have stayed. Excellent location, right on the water/beach and very convenient to have your own place. It is spacious, clean, and well equipped with a great kitchen, nice living room, TV and wireless etc. We were only two people, but it would easily accommodate two more and it has two bathrooms. Perhaps best of all, it has a shaded yard, which is great to cool off after a day at the beach. You are in a local neighborhood, so will hear roosters and dogs, but it didn't bother us and the main sound you hear when you go to sleep at night is the sound of the waves. Nancy is a pleasure to work with and is responsive--absolutely would stay there again.

Our stay in Casa Serena was one of our family's favorite vacations. We enjoyed our lazy days at the beach, floating, swimming, snorkeling, walking and searching for sea glass, reading in the hammock or lounge chairs, and building sand castles. We liked eating breakfast in and then heading right outside for sun and sea. We ate lunch in or walked to the snack bar. For evening meals, we grilled or tried some of the local restaurants. The road side fruit and lunch stands were fun stops as well. Nancy, the list of places to go and see was great, plus Gladys and Hector were very resourceful. We had planned to do assorted short trips on the island, but didn't want to give up our relaxing time at Casa Serena. Thank you for everything.

We stayed at Casa Serena with our two teenagers (ages 14 & 19) for 9 nights. It was delightful. My family loves the beach and having the ocean in the backyard was a treat. The house was well equiped for that 'home away from home' feeling. There is alot of information at the house regarding sightseeing, shopping, restaurants, etc. Nancy has made sure that people enjoy their time here and don't need to look too far for things to do. My girls liked the TV too much. I had to hide the remote!!
Gladys and Hector watch over the place. I called them several times to ask about details and they were very responsive and came by the house several times.
There were plenty of 'pool' toys to play with. Snorkels, noodles, boogie boards, etc. The washer and dryer were awesome to have in the house.
We had an fabulous time and have told our friends about Casa Serena. When we go back to Puerto Rico we will come back to the beach.

We stayed for 8 nights and found Casa Serena to be a lovely experience. It was clean, well airconditioned, well equipped with anything you could ask for, quiet and comfortable. The ability to hear the ocean waves from the patio and listen to the birds was spectacular. I was able to feed the pelicans fish out of my hands. The town of Rincon was friendly and quaint... Everything you could possibly need was available within a few blocks. Our family will definately return again to enjoy Casa Serena and we recommend it without reservation.

Really enjoyed our location in Ricon, very comfortable arrangements. Beach just out that back gate, and very good snorkeling location at Steps within 5 mins. I would definitely recommend this facility.

      Romantic Getaway!

Left on 05/14/2010 for a stay in May 2010

My husband and I stayed at Casa Serena for our honeymoon and came back for our anniversary this past May. The house and beach were just as beautiful as we remembered. And there's AC in every room (that was an upgrade from the last time we stayed) and much appreciated! It's a great location and Rincon is a fun laid-back town! Lots to see and do (you'll want a car). The beach in particular is wonderful. You can wake up in the morning, make a cup of coffee and walk out onto an almost secluded beach. I would highly recommend this rental! We look forward to many more vacations here!

We had a really great time. My wife and daughters loved being right on the beach. Everything we wanted to see or do in Rincon was never more than ten minutes away. The facilities were clean and comfortable. We look forward to returning during surf/whale watching season.

Our experience began with exceptional communication with Nancy. She quickly responded to our inquiry, answered our many questions and offered assistance with our trip planning. The house is directly on the beach and met our every need. Thank you, Nancy for opening up your home to us. We thoroughly enjoyed Rincon and had a wonderful vacation.

The service was great. The owner gives you just about
every piece of information needed including
restaurants in the area and activities. There is a
charcoal grill which was nice on nights we didn't
feel like going out. Beach towels are provided so we
didn't have to pack any. There is plenty of lounge
chairs in the yard to take out to the beach. Overall
      a great experience.

An incredible find. dealing with Nancy on line was a delight. The location was as stated. the pictures on line are accurate. Had been to Rincon a number of other times, but this clearly was the best lodging experience we've had. Will return yearly if possible. Rincon is a great experience, not a resort town, lots of locals, lots of ex-pats, great food, great beach. Bring books.

My wife and I shared this with my in laws and it more than fit us perfectly.
When we arrived we found the property well prepared and maintained. Hector,
the grounds keeper was very pleasant. The setting was stunning, I enjoyed
coffee every morning on the patio, while listening to the surf breaking on the
shore. The evenings were filled with the sound of the cocui's.
A very satisfying experience. Thank you.

We had a wonderful week in PR. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed our daily walks on the beach, swimming and body surfing the waves, eating on the patio for every meal and just relaxing and reading. We did a little touring but not much- saw the surfers at Sandy's Beach, went into town for ice cream and walking around and went south to the bioluminescent bay. The house was great -very comfortable (after getting use to the roosters!)

It's nice to know that there are great places to go sightseeing and other great water sports to enjoy, for everyone who wants a more strenuous vacation. Rincon has so much to offer. Thanks for sharing our home.

I have been renting half of this duplex for a month every winter for the last several years. It is a clean, simply but well appointed house right on the beach in a neighborhood just south of the town of Rincon. In "winter" the beach is peaceful and uncrowded. Grocery stores and restaurants are nearby, some within walking distance. The house has ample space for 1 - 4 people with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is air conditioning in every room, a small but functional kitchen, wifi, satellite TV. The property managers are wonderful. For sun, warmth, beach, in a neighborhood setting this little house can't be beaten. The fact that I've returned over many years speaks for itself!

      Dear Cybersal,

We enjoy welcoming every winter for your month away from the cold, dark weather up north. It is great to know that you will see all the upgrades and improvements we make during the year, new beds, new living room furniture, new kitchens, new landscaping, new paintings, what else? I think you have seen almost everything being replaced and upgraded over the last 12 years. THanks for being one of our many repeat guests. Can't wait to see you next year.

      thanks,

      A Grest Vacation

Left on 02/27/2010 for a stay in November 2009

My family had the opportunity to stay in Casa Serena in December. The
house and the scenery were beyond of our expectations. We loved everything
about it. The decor, the closeness of the ocean and the nice beach, the
beautiful trees in the garden, our lovely neighbors, beautiful sunsets and
the sea breeze. The pictures do not do justice to the houses. One has to
stay in those homes and be able to see everything for themselves. We did and
we will recommend them to everyone
of our friends and family. We really felt at home in such a tranquil
      beautiful environment.
Also the caretaker was excellent, she was always available and was able to
fulfill any of our little requests in a very timely manner. She is a very
      nice lovely lady and
      we enjoyed meeting her.
We will definitely be back and may bring friends to rent Casa Tamara also.

      You need to stay here!!!

Left on 02/25/2010 for a stay in March 2008

We have been to Casa Serena three times and we have had a great experience each and every time. First, Rincon is just big enough to have fun options for entertainment: Jet Skiing, Parasailing, Snorkeling, Scuba Diving, Disco, Gambling, Fishing, Sunset Cruises, Horseback riding, etc and yet is small enough that it is quiet and peaceful on the beach. Each time we go we have massages right on the patio, while listening to the surf. Food selection is great, from fast food, to take-out, to elegant dine-in.

The accommodations are clean, well-kept and right on the beach!!! It is great to get up in the morning (to the roosters crowing!!)and walk out to the sea and watch the day start. As the house faces the west on the sea-side, sunsets are the best!! While on the beach you are never crowded. It is great to be able to go from beach to house and back again simply to re-freshen your drink!!

I highly recommend Casa Serena for a great vacation. We also toured Casa Tamara and that's great too!! Both are great places to stay and one can not help but have fun!!
