Atlanta, GeorgiaEnchanting stay complete with beautiful sunrises and sunsets, oc
Left on 02/24/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Our stay at amirage Lookout was just what the doctor ordered. We needed a real vacation away from the hustle and bustle of city life and found rest and relaxation abundant at this little get-a-way. My favorite perch for reading at mid-day, when not on one of our two balconies, was on the love seat in the sitting area of our bedroom. Positioning myself as in a chaise lounge and situated between two windows with a frontal view of the surf, the ocean breezes ensuring no need for air conditioning, I was content for hours. Each late afternoon included a swim in the turquoise water in front of the amirage and adjacent properties, grabbing a noodle from the assorted beach and swim gear as we descended the steps of the amirage. Not all time was spent on the property as one day we ventured out for a snorkeling excursion with Taino Divers (recommended by Joy), only a 15 minute drive from amirage. Great snorkeling and wonderful people. Joy suggested we reserve in advance and so glad we took her advice. Upon booking, Joy mailed us a Rincon restaurant guide and tourist map, along with directions to the property. We carried the map with us everywhere and found it quite helpful as we explored Rincon as first time visitors. Arriving after dark at the amirage was no problem with Joy's precisely written directions. We were tired after a long day of travel and to our delight discovered our refrigerator stocked with a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers, and fresh fruit. Dinner! Soon after, we drifted off to sleep in a comfortable bed listening to the surf outside our window. Exploring Rincon with amirage as our base camp meant we were within a 15 minute drive of any destination. Several restaurants were just down the hill, only three minutes away. We explored amazing beaches, utilizing the beach chairs and towels provided to us at amirage. Our coffee maker stopped working one morning and as soon as we notified Joy, she found a percolator coffee pot and brought it to us. Haven't used one of those in a while and it worked just great! Huge pots with gorgeous flowering plants decorate the expansive deck of the amirage, giving us our first impression as we entered the courtyard gate that this is a special place, well-loved and cared for. Thanks for sharing amirage with us, Joy and David.
