We spent 2 weeks in the Bossa Nova apartment in January and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is perfect for 2 people. Being on the top floor and at the back of the building it is very quiet. The patio is great we enjoyed being able to have our morning coffee and evening drinks outside. The kitchen was stocked with most everything we needed. Bed was comfortable. A lot of thought and care went into the decorating, which made it feel more like a home rather than a rental.
Great location only one block from the beach. Grocery store across the the street. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.
Chad the owner met us when we arrived and told us about the apartment and then again when we left to return our security deposit. Nice guy.
Will definitely stay here again on our next trip. -

This apartment was exactly what I was looking for for my two week vacation in Rio de Janeiro. The furnishings were modern, functional and thoughtfully arranged. The kitchen was outfitted with all of the necessary kitchen tools and gadgets and the outdoor patio was a welcome break from the busy streets of Copacabana. Chad the owner was friendly, available and quick to provide answers to any questions asked. I would absolutely love to return to this wonderful escape!

This was my fourth visit to Rio, I wish I had found this apartment the first time! It is a cozy, spotlessly clean one bedroom apartment with a very good location just a block from Copacabana Beach (and walking distance to Ipanema Beach and all its attractions and restaurants). It also accommodated our daughter and her boyfriend on the fold down futon for a week. Extra linens and blankets were right at hand.
Very comfortable furnishings and layout. We were able to prepare Christmas dinner (note: no oven, but no problem). There is a four burner gas cook top and microwave. The outdoor shower on the balcony was great when we returned from the beach. There is one full bathroom plus a toilet and sink off the kitchen, so we four felt very comfortable. The apartment has everything you need. There are two supermarkets, Pao de azucar and Zona Sul, plus a half million banks within a half block. Endless restaurants, etc, including a kilograma next door. Nearby is a drop-off laundry. Bus stop in front. This is a 24hr doorman building in a busy, safe neighborhood. Take the elevator to the 11th floor then walk up one short flight to the 12th.
The very helpful (and rightfully proud) owner met us on arrival, reviewed all the features of the apartment, and met us on departure to return our security fee. He was available during our stay by phone, too.
No complaints at all, but note, there is not much of a view. However, Rio is an overwhelming visual city so you won't need any extra things to look at from the apartment.
Grab this one before it's gone, we're glad we did! You will feel right at home. -

This was my home base while I was writing my travel guide to Rio.
GREAT LOCATION
A major street, at the edge of Copacabana, only a few blocks from Ipanema ($$$). One block away from the beach. A bustling area at all hours with groceries, restaurants, laundry, news stands, taxis.
BEAUTIFUL APARTMENT
The fruit of a recent remodel. I'm often renting short-term, so I'm used to sparseness. I call this my "McGuyver Apartment." Every time I needed something, there it was! Extra light bulbs, beach towels, extra pillows, sheets, scissors... even the "green" shopping bag that I used for bringing my clothes to the cleaners. And I'm totally "borrowing” more than one of their design ideas too!
This penthouse in the back of the building, so no street noise. The balcony is private enough that if you want to go "au naturale" when you shower "al fresco"... go for it! The neighbors are quiet locals-and wait until you smell their cooking waft through the building! Yum!
OWNERS WERE GREAT
A Brasilian & an American (I felt more comfy renting from an American my 1st time). They were helpful throughout my visit, quickly answering the occasional, emailed question.
I already encourage my friends to rent this apartment... JUST NOT WHEN I WANT IT AGAIN!
