I stayed here with 2 others last august for 4 nights and we loved it. We found the apartment to be great value and in a central, safe location. It is spacious, well kept, clean and has everything you would need. As the location is so central, it can be a little noisy particularly in the front bedroom but even so, it didn't bother us... what can you expect when you're right in the centre of Rio! Nicky was so easy to deal with, very quick in responding to any emails/queries before arriving and he was very helpful during our stay. We organised a taxi through him on arrival also and it was great to have someone meet you and bring you straight to the apartment, particularly as it was late at night.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this apartment and if I am ever in Rio again I would choose to stay here again without a doubt.Response from NICKY D LEE FRANCIS - 03/02/2013

Thanks so much Sandra, there's many people that don't care if there guests have a good stay or not, I actually do. Rio is a busy city and the front bedroom has silent windows, so it cuts out 75% of noise.The back bedroom quieter.I agree with you its great to have someone meet you at the airport because especially when you go to a foreign speaking country you have other things to worry about. For anyone reading this review don't think that you need the airport pickup as the taxi's from the airport
also are safe, but they can vary in price & some do drive a little crazy! -

As always the pics in the interner service make you expect a bit more than you get.
There was everything that was listed but it was a bit worn out (this compared to the North Europian standards). But anyway it was worth the rent and we loved our stay. Looking around in Rio makes you think that most propably the other available apartments aren't any fancier.
The location is perfect, this end of Copacabana seems a bit more welthy than the other and it is less than 1 km from Ipanema.
And the most important thing: we most propably would rent this apartment again! It can be recommended to travellers who do not want to spend excess money on the accomodation.
About the safety which concerns travellers: police is visible everywhere and during 12 days we saw no incidents, Rio was as any big city as Nicky says in one of his comments. We were careful though,did not have any jewellery and kept our cards and money hidden but carried our systems camera hanging from the neck. We took some 500 photos around the beaches and the city and no one seemed to be interested. I even saw a lot of iPhones in the hands of the local people. -

not only the apartment is great, Nicky is a great person. The copacabana beach is only a block away, Ipanema is a couple o blocks away, place is surrounded by places to have breakfast and natural juices, and if you wanna go to a hace a nice fancy dinner the hip restaurants hot spots in Leblon are only a couple of minutes away on a cab ride.

Perfecto! El apartamento ideal para tres personas, moderno, limpio, a una cuadra de la playa, muy cómodo.
Es la primera vez que alquilamos en otro paÃs pero todo salió tal cual lo pactado. Nick es una persona muy cordial y servicial . Seguramente si volvemos a Rio ese va a ser nuestro alojamiento. 100% recomendable.

Flat was modern, clean and comfortable - location is excellent however, its on the main road Nossa Senhora so can get really noisy with the traffic during the day, but thats not a problem as you'll be spending most of your time at the beach.

It was great to rent from Nicky - we had no problems and all terms we agreed to prior to our arrival were met. The location is great as it's only a block away from the beach. There are a few big grocery stores nearby. There's a hostel across the street which we used quite often for information, to book tours, book transport to the airport and even enjoyed a salsa lesson! Hoping to come back in 2014 for the World Cup :)

I stayed at this apartment with my mother and my 18 month old son for a week in February. It worked great for us! It was great being able to cook our own meals to save some money on food. The apartment really is just a block from Copacabana Beach, so we were able to walk there anytime we wanted. The area is very safe and the doormen are very helpful, especially if you have small children. I'd absolutely recommend staying in this apartment. The manager, Nick, is also extremely helpful and will answer any questions you have about places to visit in Rio or restaurants, etc.

Rio is a busy, noisy city, so don't expect peace and quiet!
The apartment block was well run and the doormen efficient. Due to them being on duty most of the time and there being a keypad to the apartment, it was only necessary to take a key out in the evenings - very useful with a mixed group. Our belongings felt safe at all times in the apartment.
Nicky was a friendly, happy and considerate landlord, who quickly provided any missing items we felt necessary.
We'd definitely use him again and will give his details to our wider family and friends who might travel to Rio in the future.

I would like to add that In 5 years of renting I have never had or heard of 1 apartment break in.So I hope this helps to put guests at ease when they stay in Rio that their belongings are safe.
You can never please all of the people, all of the time, but I do try and provide apartments that are value for money & not overpriced within
their market. I cannot guarantee all requests are met , but you will at least be dealing with a human who listens & cares about his guests.

Me and my 11 year old son stayed for a week in July 2010. Very nice spacious 2 bedroom apartment with close proximity to some great shops, and a stones throw from the beach. It's literally 2 blocks away. Nice big window facing the rua Copacabana. This is an ideal apartment for the first time visitor, since it has easy access to all, and comes with wireless internet connection. Great open kitchen, nicely decorated bathroom with a decent hot water supply to the shower. One bedroom offers a nice size closet and the other has an average size wardrobe. The owner is a great guy who showed me the best places to visit, and made sure I paid good prices for taxis. The building seems pretty safe and secure. The doorman is not there 24hrs, so it may be necessary to get two keys to the main entrance door if travelling with several people."
