What Past Guests Are Saying
Lovely, spacious appartment in beautiful setting
We loved staying in Il Giardino. Clean, spacious and, although we stayed there in the hottest weeks of the year: relatively cool. The garden and balcony are wonderful for evening meals and drinks. When it is hot and you leave the windows open at night, there is the occasional noise from people passing by late at night. This was quite rare and didn't bother us.
The owner very kindly explained everything to us when we arrived.
Be prepared for a steep climb from the station with your luggage, although the little streets are great to look at. We felt as if we'd walked straight into an Italian filmset. Beautiful. We'd love to stay here again.

A clean, equipped, comfortable, convenient and welcoming stay.
Our stay in appartamento Giardino was excellent. Our host welcomed us at the Riomaggiore train station, escorted us to the apartment, and acquainted us with the town and the apartment. The apartment is very clean and well equipped for cooking in. Shops for groceries and laundry are a five minute walk down the street. The apartment is cozy/comfortable for four people. The bed are very firm. The location is terrific, twelve minute walk from train and five to fifteen minute walk to everything in town. Would definitely stay here again.
Lovely respite from exploring Florence & Rome
Lovely apt.-owner's artful attention to details appreciated-garden seating and own terrace private-easy access to train to nearby towns and ristorantes-lots of uphill walking-unusually cool and damp for late May but beauty of coastline made up for it! Website pictures did not show how truly nice this apt. is.

Couldn't have been happier - pictures don't do it justice!
My husband, parents, and I stayed here for two nights during our stay in Cinque Terre. The apartment is cute as can be and very comfortable. We loved the outdoor space, the comfy bedrooms, the kitchen, and the nice bathroom. The apartment owner was very helpful and provided lots of great information for us on hiking and other places to see in the area. We cooked dinner here one night and found the kitchen to be very well stocked for all of our needs. Would definitely recommend this place.
great stay in Riomaggiore
This is a great two-bedroomed appartment up the hill along the main street in Riomaggiore in the Cinque Terre. Spacious and beautifully decorated, it is a 10 minute walk from the train station (through the tunnel and up the steep hill). Generally fairly quiet as away from the main part of town and the shops. Cars are not allowed into the town at night, but there was some noise early in the morning as commerical vehicles came down the hill.
The owner of the appartment was extremely helpful, providing information on the area, including maps and guides.
The appartment has a garden with table and chairs and a balcony with table and chairs. Lovely to sit out for breakfast and dinner, but watch out for the mosquitoes. We made good use of the citronella candles provided.
There is a small supermarket a few minutes down the hill from the appartment.
some what mixed experience
We had a 2 night stay at this apartment in Riomaggiore. The apartment itself is spacious, nicely decorated and well taken care off. The front balcony is a nice place to sit and relax. The apartment owners are a nice elderly couple. The lady has her hand crafted towels and napkins all around the apartment that shows care and personal touch. The gentleman was also helpful and provided us with all the local tourist information so that we can maximize the time of our stay.
The two big problems we faced with the apartment was that the apartment has no provision for 'Fans'. There are no a/C, no cooling system and no fans (either ceiling or free stnading) in any room. This June was unusually hot in C.T.. After climbing the slope with heavy luaggage (or even when you return from a morning/afternoon/evening walk) you have to have cold water and a fan to just cool you down. I would strongly suggest arbaspaa to look into this and make provision for some free standing fans for future guests.
Another one aspect I would like to bring to arbaspaa's notice is that when I reserved the apartment I was told it is only 200 or 300 meters from the station. the distance might be true but it is a straight uphill trudging. For 2 women and 2 children with heavy luggage that was a very very hard and unpleasant experience in a June mid-day heat. I heard from another family who also stayed in Riomaggiore that their landlady brought a taxi to station to help carry all the luaggage to the apartment. Some free service like that would have been really really helpful and will significantly enhance the overall experience of the stay.
La dolce vita on the balcony and in the garden.
This apartment was comfortable and filled with lovely homemade touches in the decorating. The garden and balcony were great places to drink coffee or wine after a day of hiking the hills. The kitchen was well equipped and it was easy to breakfast on the terrace. The landlord was very helpful and nice.
Loved the Cinque Terre
Choosing to stay in Riomaggiore was a great choice. Loved the location of the apartment. Perfect for two couples. As promised, we were met by the owner who helped us find our way to the apartment. Our only complaint was that the flat was cold but once we got the heat working, we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay.
My girlfriends and I had a wonderful time in this lovely apartment. The owner was so friendly and helpful. We loved the attention to detail that his wife had provided in decorating the apartment. The location could not have been better for us. Although it would have been nice to have a couch in the living room, we were there for a short stay and spent little time actually in the apartment. We loved the garden and patio, but the weather did not allow us to enjoy them. I would highly recommend this place, and would gladly return there.
Dream come true…
My dream, to travel to Cinquterre with my family, came true this summer. I found website of Il Giardino di Riomaggiore. It gave details of the apartment with many photos. The owner was very fair and helpful during the booking.
When we arrived to the apartment, we were late, but he kindly agreed. Dear Enrico explained and showed everything. He gave many advice, what we can see, what we can do and where we can do in the Cinqueterre.
The apartment was very-very lovely, spacious, clean and perfectly equipped. The cozy rooms were nicely decorated with the owner's wife conjured wonderful handicrafts, paintings.
The apartment was a brilliant location, close to shops and restaurants and few minutes walk to sea. The house was cool in summer, and had a fabulous garden. We loved in the garden for breakfast under the trees. It was very romantic. We had dinner in the evening on the terrace, or from watching the ceremonial procession...
It was incredible for us. Thanks to Enrico and his wife that contributed to a wonderful dream a reality. We will come back and many thanks!

Excellent Cinque Terre experience
Our family of 4 spent 4 nights in apartment Il Giardino at the beginning of august.
Everything was perfect, from the check-in to the check-out.
Lovely apartment, clean and well decorated. Perfect for our family.
Location in Riomaggiore: good.
Sinor and Sinora Galeazzi, the owners, were very welcoming and went to great length to make us feel at home. We reviewed together the 5terre todo list and recommendations. We can't thank them enough. They contributed to us having an excellent first experience with Cinque Terre.

Lovely apartment with gardens and lots of personal touches.
Although we arrived much later than expected, Mr. Galeazzi (the owner) waited patiently for us, met us at the train station, and personally took us up the hill through beautiful Riomaggiore to the apartment. A beautiful gate welcomed us into the gardens and up to the terrace with a table and chairs, where we ate dinner each evening. The apartment is delicately and lovingly decorated by the owners. Two airy bedrooms, two inner rooms with seating, a large bathroom and a small but adequate kitchen made the whole space feel quite large, with plenty of room for us to spread out. Mr. Galeazzi spent a good deal of time showing us the apartment, giving us tips on eating in Cinque Terre and interesting side trips. Riomaggiore has plenty of grocery shopping choices, but we decided to take a train to La Spezia and find a good sized grocery store for our staples. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook every evening, and we took advantage of the wonderful produce and fruits d'mare. The only thing we missed was having a better view of the town, and there is no view of the sea, but the lovely, calm and clean space we got for such a reasonable price made that small sacrifice worthwhile.

Comfortable apartment in Riomaggiore
This apartment worked out really well for our family. The owner was there to welcome us to Riomaggiore, orient us to the apartment and give us suggestions about what to do in the area. His suggestions for restaurants were very good!
The apartment was great for our family of four - two bedrooms and three beds. It also had a well stocked kitchen, good clean bathroom and livingroom wtih magazines and books. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The suite was great.
There was some street noise in the morning around 7am but I think this was construction work on an apartment across the road that will be finished soon.
The location was great. Riomaggiore is a manageable size and a very enjoyable town to stay in.
Cinque Terre was one of our favourite places to stay in Italy.
Great Cinque Terre experience!
My husband and I stayed in appartamento Giardino with another couple in July 2011 and were happy with our stay. The host was wonderful, and although we didn't speak Italian and he didn't speak much English, he was able to give us all essential information about the apartment. It is in a great location in the wonderful village of Riomaggiore -- close to everything. It is noisy in the early morning, but we simply closed the windows and were fine. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful welcome to Riomaggiore
We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Giardino apartment. Our only problem was that we did not stay long enough - next time we will be there for a week or more. Mr Galeazzi and his wife were a charming couple and although our Italian is very poor we managed to check-in and have a laugh. The welcome they gave us was very warm and the apartment was excellent. Not a lot of seating inside but we spent almost every moment when we were not sightseeing out on the terrace overlooking the lovely garden. Overall a wonderful stay and looking forward to returning one day.
The agents who handled the stay 'Arbaspaa' were also excellent, very friendly and everything was booked efficiently. I highly recommend their services.
Comfortable apartment in lovely town
The property owner was very accomodating and adjusted his schedule to meet at a time convenient for us. The apartment was charming and without disappointment, with fully fitted kitchen and comfortable beds. His gardens are especially beautiful; the patio was a lovely place to sit at the end of the day. We worried a bit about the lack of air conditioning but it wasn't too problematic. Leaving the windows open at night kept it pretty comfortable but, if you like to sleep late, early activity in the the street below might make you unhappy. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable. Overall, we loved the apartment and town.
Pity the Coastal walk was closed
The apartment , Il Giardino, on the main st of Riomaggiore was excelent inside, if expensive. The street resounded to the sounds of luggage wheels on cobbles from early until late. The traffic was scarce enough.
The biggest disappointment was the loss of the coastal walk from Riomaggiore to Monterosso. While it was possible and easy to walk from Riomaggiore to Manarola, and from Monterosso to Vernazza (challenging!) , the remaining stretches fell into the sea late 2010 and remain securely closed. As the hills backing the Cinque Terre are high (450m), and the paths are long with stretches on roads carrying a lot of traffic, walking between the villages is not possible with children.

We would have happily stayed longer ...
My wife and I were immediately charmed by the property owner, Enrique (or Enrico according to my wife), who, even after we had delayed our meeting by two hours after we lost our way to the property, was very friendly and helpful in describing the apartment.
It is spacious, wellappointed and it sits in a well situationed little town.
We would have happily stayed longer had we not already committed to other travel. Give the area at least 3 nights stay.
Beautiful place great apartment.
Unexpectedly Perfect stay in Riomaggiore
We loved staying at Mr and Mrs Galiazzi's home. It was far bigger than the pictures make it look, immaculately clean, and had everything we needed. We had already rented several flats around Europe in our travels and theirs was by far the best value. They have a large balcony to sit and a beautiful garden that makes their place look like the nicest in the town. This location is a great place to start your adventures in the Cinque Terre. Our train was delayed by a few hours and Mr Galiazzi stayed to meet us and make sure we got settled in. Our family agrees that we're going to stay here the next time we visit.
Jewel in Riomaggiore
What a beautiful jewel of an apartment. It is extremely clean and set up to cater to your comfort. Enrique's wife has personalized the apartment with her handiwork. He has all kinds of suggestions for your stay there including one which we did not have on our itenerary. That was taking a boat to Puerto Venere. Wonderful! I hope you will take a chance on this apartment, I don't think you will regret it. Our only problem was a misunderstanding on how to get to the meeting place for the key. We were told to go through the tunnel and then up the hill. We took the tunnel under the rail tracks to be the tunnel and it is not. There is a beautiful handtiled tunnel to the right after going under the tracks.
Beautiful apartment was everything for a perfect stay.
We were met exactly on time and walked two minutes to our beautiful airy apartment. The greeters took pride in showing us the apartment and all its ameneties. They spent time showing us how to close doors and open windows and made sure we had current maps of the area. A short walk down hill brought us to small grocery stores and a bakery. On just a minute further is the train station tunnel and the station itself. Riomaggiore
is the most convenient town in Cinque Terre . All trains stop there not only to other Cinque terre Town but also to go to Genoa and La Specia. You'll find an espresso maker for coffee no Mr. Coffee in sight. When in Italy espresso is the best ...also no wine bottle opener ...we bought one to go with wine that we enjoyed on the terrece each night.
Good location to explore Cinque Terre
Comfortable, clean and spacious 2 bedroom apartment with self catering facilities; not easy to connect with owner but once we did he was very hospitable and helpful.

Outstanding value, comfort, location and cleanliness.
My daughter and I spent a most memorable 3 days in Riomaggiore where the spacious apartment was our haven and base for our outings. It was lovely to be able to sit outside in the garden and enjoy the pleasant surroundings and relax and yet be so close to all that was going on in the village.
We found this to be a clean and comfortable place to stay. A little sparce for indoor seating though. Very good kitchen facilities and comfortable beds, good linen. Lovely oudoor areas and garden setting. Perfect place for the summer. We really enjoyed it here.
Nice, cosy and clean
Nice, cosy and clean
Very nice, cosy and clean appartment, plenty of space and beatiful garden
Great apartment, easy to find, location perfect. The garden is gorgeous and lovingly cared for, two separate areas with seating for al fresco dining!
The apartment is nice, clean and big, at the same price of a room! Don't miss!
Fantastic accomodation in a Great location
The apartment was very spacious with plenty of room to spare. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed, and we cooked often in the apartment. The terrace above the nicely manicured lawn/garden was a great place to hang out after a long day spent exploring. The owner/manager and his wife were very friendly and very helpful. We would stay here again if we ever find ourselves in Riomaggiore in the future!

Delightful apartment with wonderful garden and patio
We were met at the train station by the truly delightful owners. It's a hike up to the apartment, but not excessive. The spotless apartment is decorated by the owner's artistic wife Lydia and is a delight. The overall feeling was even better than the online pictures suggest. The garden, patio and terrace were fabulous for outdoor breakfasts and evening conversations. No WiFi or television could be an issue for some, but not a problem for our stay there.

Cinque Terre Da Sogno
Amazing and elegant apartment!
What can I say! I stayed in many places but this apartment for such little money is beautiful! All white and blue inside, very clean, well-equipped. The owners who met us are charming and helpful. The apartment doesn't have a sea view but the sea is just 5 mins away! You'll see it everyday anyway and it makes up for this in charm and the fact that it has a little lush garden that you can sit in as well as a large balcony! Most artwork and bedding have been hand embroidered by the owners wife. It was really lovely to meet them on the first day and be greeted with such warmth. We whole-heartedly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed! It's just above a little church and is very atmospheric. Expect a slight walk up a hill to get to it. Enjoy! :)
beautiful apartment, loving and gracious hosts
Apartment location was perfect, close to everything. Hosts very friendly and gracious, made us feel like family. Nicely decorated with care. Would recommend it highly!!
Bel Air, Maryland USA
Sig. Galeazzi was such a welcoming host to us and we had a wonderful time in Riomaggiore. The apartment is in a great location in beatutiful Riomaggiore of the Cinque Terre. If you are driving, there is private parking and Sig. Galeazzi was great about arranging a convenient time. The apartment is spacious, very clean and very comfortable for four guests. Signor Galeazzi's wife decorated the apartment and it is so charming! We had our two teenage sons with us and it was nice that there were twin beds in one of the bedrooms. The town is in the best location as the via dell'Amore begins in this town and is so beautiful and relaxing to walk in the evenings after exploring the area during the day. Fantastic!
