Located inside the biosphere reserve of Sian Kaan, this beautiful villa rests along the white sandy beaches of the Mexican Caribbean. The barrier reef is at swimming distance, and the lagoon located at the back of the property brings you to ancient Mayan canals.

The house sets new standards of eco-design and comfort, and brings you a full-board service that includes excursions, massage, sailing, snorkelling, and our finest cuisine and cocktail bar. Our staff will be delighted to attend to your needs and make your holiday unforgettable!

The house has many open areas where you can relax, read a book or sunbathe. The roof terrace has... exceptional views of both the sea and the lagoon, over which the sun sets, while on the white sandy beach the transparent water constantly invites you to jump in and enjoy.

A lot of importance is given to dining and to different choices of food. You can choose to eat in the formal dining room as well as any other part of the house like the roof top, the terraces, the decking or even the beach. Our cuisine, which we're very proud of, can be tailored made to your taste and is based on a Mexican-European mix. We pay particular attention to cooking only with the freshest of ingredients.

The living area is at the centre of the house with a large sofa where you can play table games, watch films on a 120-inch cinema screen, listen to music, or just enjoy the views of the sea.

Regional Information - The Reserve

“Sian Kaan” is translated from Mayan as “where the sky is born”.

The Sian Kaan Biosphere Reserve was established in 1986 by presidential decree, and in 1987 the reserve was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sian Kaan faces the greatest challenge of conservation: to find a way to integrate human activities without compromising other forms of life contained within its boundaries.

Sian Kaan is approximately 1.3 million acres in size and spans 120 kilometres from north to south (comprising almost one third of the Caribbean coast of Mexico). In 1994, an area of over 200,000 acres to the south of the Reserve was named a Protected Area of Flora and Fauna of Uaymil, increasing the continuous area of protected land.

The reserve contains three large core zones where human activity is limited by permission to scientific research. Low-impact human activities and sustainable development occur in the area of the reserve known as the buffer zone. The human population is estimated at 2,000 inhabitants, the majority of which are located in the coastal regions, especially in the fishing villages of Punta Allen and Punta Herrero. Approximately one percent of the land within the reserve is privately owned.

The northernmost section of Sian Kaan (where Casa Nalum is) contains what is thought to be an ancient trade route through lagoons with ruins and mangrove channels between the cities of Tulum and Muyil.

Please note that staff at Casa Nalum will attentively clean 100 yards directly in front of the villa. Also the team cleans a further 300 yards in each direction from plastic bottles or any other inorganic material - not from organic material such as sea grass or drift wood that are part of nature.Read more

Casa Nulum is set on probably the lovliest beach I have ever seen, and it\'s literally all yours when you stay there.   WOW. Primo location. Beautiful beach AND pool. Excellent food and service. Wonderful, attentive and nearly invisible staff. Perfect weather. The only bad thing I can think of is we had to leave after only 7 days. The villa and its amenities surpassed our expectations in every respect. Each time we sat down to eat and looked out at the view of the Gulf and our private beach, we\'d say to each other, \"This just never gets old.\" We especially loved the projector and big screen for movies, but I\'m really glad we brought our own -- not much of a selection at the villa. The masseuse was great, as was the outdoor massage on our terrace overlooking the Gulf. We and our grandkids also loved the Mayan Canal tour, especially the swimming part and the delivery right to Casa Nalum\'s \"back door\" on the lagoon. I can\'t think of a single detail that could have gone better. We hated to leave.

  Our group fell in love with Casa Nalum! The beach, house, and surroundings of the Sia'an Kaan Biosphere were beautiful beyond description and the perfect getaway from busy city life. What made the trip even more memorable was the incredible staff: Marco, Mario, Maria, Martin, Mercedes, and Rudolfo - they prepared delicious meals, saw to our every need, and just generally took great care of us. We will never forget our time at this hidden paradise.

  The food wasn't great. almost all the products that we expected to be super fresh were FROZEN and we never eat frozen food. The fruit wasn't good either and the butler seemed very often to be unhappy about serving us.
