Description from the owner

This high-end Beach House is located right on West Bay Beach with an ocean view from the 2 bedrooms and grand living room that opens out by double French doors to an expansive terrace. Envision yourself swinging in the hammock or lounging with a cool drink. Listen to the tropical birds, watch the little green hummingbirds in flight for sweet nectar and of course nap in the cool breezes and sounds of gentle ocean waves.

It's a paradise and so beautifully decorated with Caribbean style warm mahogany woods, carved doors from mainland Honduras, beautiful oil paintings that show off the Honduran culture and art from a beautiful Country of...Read more

A great location with accomodating Owners

Left on 04/11/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We stayed for 5 weeks and the Casa de Paradise was like home. The lack of internet reliability was an issue for us to start, but the owners were able after our 3 week to get a consistent signal for the complex. We loved the owners and they went out of their way to assist in making our stay enjoyable. This is definitely a place to stay if you want to feel like home, and have access to the beach of West Bay.

We stayed in Spencer's Cove at Casa de Paradise

Left on 03/06/2012 for a stay in February 2012

This was the most wonderful place we had ever stayed in Roatan. The property is 100 yards from the beach and almost a private beach. We were taken care of so well that we have already booked there again next year for a month long stay. They go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to taking care of the people renting their property. Ron and Myra are the best. We love them.

      Awesome Place!

Left on 08/26/2011 for a stay in August 2011

This place is fantastic. Private house with all the amenities and gorgeous view of the beach. Absolute perfection. The owners are wonderful, especially Myra. She is the sweetest.
I had just arrived from Honduras where I became a little sick and she was so nice - she took me all over the island to the clinics and pharmacies. She took several hours out of her time to do this for me after we had only known each other for 2 days.
I cannot endorse this place enough. Book it! You will absolutely love it.

Wonderful experience -- a true paradise!

Left on 07/22/2011 for a stay in July 2010

An incredibly busy school year has prevented me from writing this review for nearly a year, but our stay at the Casa de Paradise Penthouse was so memorable that I still wanted to submit this. My husband and I traveled with his aunt and uncle because they have been diving for year. We were getting our open water certification by referral.

When we arrived at the airport, a driver picked us up and took us to the store so we could buy some food for the week. He was so kind and helpful. Ron was waiting for us when we got to the house. We stayed in the Penthouse that the owners, Ron and Myra, originally lived in themselves. I'm sure that is why it was so beautiful and comfortable. The house is gorgeous with heavy carved wooden doors, dark woodwork and very modern and comfortable furniture. The couches were comfortable, the beds were comfortable, and we had a nice, cool place to relax when retreating from the heat. They asked us not to run the air when we weren't there, and that worried my husband a bit because he is always hot. But it was fine. We used the air conditioner in the living area during the day (when we were there), and each bedroom had its own a/c for the night. The electricity costs are high so we were asked not to run all three air conditioners at the same time. No problem. Rooms cooled down quickly enough and we weren't there in the daytime that often. As for the power outages, we did have a few. But they were in the day, and it didn't seem to faze us. Ron even knew about one of them ahead of time and gave us a call to let us know when to expect an outage the next day! You could always take a swim to cool off, and that did help a lot. Because it is really hot in Roatan.

When we arrived, Ron gave us a prepaid cell phone in case we needed anything. We were able to go to the store and load more minutes on it. That was nice because we were able to make international calls at a good rate and could call home. Ron and Myra have lived in Roatan for several years and own a coffee plantation on the mainland. So they know a lot of people and a have so much knowledge. They were very accommodating and we really felt we could call them if we had any trouble. The DVD player broke and Myra happened to have an extra one that she brought us the next day. I know who watches TV in paradise? But the sun sets so much earlier than in Ohio. We didn't realize that :) By the way, you can rent movies from the same place you buy phone minutes.

We completed our open water cert. at Coconut Tree Divers in Half Moon Bay just on the other side of West End. They were fantastic. Professional and fun. West End is definitely worth visiting. There are some nice little shops and several restaurants. We loved the food at Cannibal cafe. I had some black bean nacho dish and I still remember it a year later.

But our beach at West Bay was awesome. We walked to the end of the beach for endless hours of snorkeling. Go out in the evening (about 4:00) and you will start to see more night creatures. We saw a spotted eel and a lobster. Another time, we went into the boat lane carefully and saw a little shark and a sea turtle. And that is just snorkeling off our beach. Amazing! Soft sand, calm water. Our first night there, it was a full moon and the beach was breathtakingly relaxing.

The beach is definitely more crowded on cruise days, but not as much at our end. Sunday was so calm, and then Monday, I had 3 people ask me to buy something in 5 minutes. The good thing is, they remember you and don't ask you again as they go up and down the small beach.

We cannot say enough about Roatan and Casa de Paradise. We had such a wonderful experience. If we have the opportunity to return to Roatan, we will be staying here again. It was like a dream.
