Nous avons passés deux semaines à relaxer à la sea pool villa. Croyez-moi c'est une place de choix pour la détente et le calme. Briggita et Jaw sont des gens vraiment sympathique et soucieux du confort de leurs invités. La villa est très propre et les jardins luxuriants reflète tout le travaille que les propriétaires y mettent. Beaucoup de poissons à voir en apnée. Endroit isolé mais ça vaut la peine juste pour avoir la tranquillité. Un merci à Jaw et Briggita pour leur grande hospitalité.

We just returned from our stay at SeaPool Villas and had a wonderful time. The property is gorgeous, well kept, and the owners are some of the nicest people Iβve ever met. Our group was myself, my sister and our husbands. We have stayed in Rotan before (in the West End), and this location was by far superior. If you are looking for all night loud clubs and crowded beaches, this area might not be for you, but if you want beautiful pristine beach with nearby wonderful restaurants, stay here! The house itself was gorgeous and comfortable. The dock was beautiful and perfect for relaxing. There are of course sand flies, as there are everywhere in Roatan, just use bug spray and they wonβt bother you. About a Β½ mile swim from the dock is a fantastic reef. Our family swam to it from the dock, but Jaw and Brigitta can also arrange kayaks for you. The grounds are gorgeous, tons of beautiful exotic flowers, birds and geckos. The house is well stocked with everything you need if you decide to stay in and cook. Jaw is very security conscious which made us feel very safe. Jaw and Brigitta go out of their way to make you feel at home and are just a wonderful couple to chat with. We would definitely go back!!!

This is an absolutely gorgeous villa on the eastern side of Roatan. The owners, Brigitta and Jaw, are wonderful, kind hosts who pay attention to every detail. They designed and built the villa - it is modern, beautiful and luxurious. Lots of natural light and great views. The gardens are incredible, and the surroundings have been left very natural, unlike most of the big resorts on the island.
Brigitta and Jaw took care of everything. They met us at the airport and helped us with our rental car. When we arrived at the villa, they had a bottle of wine and a basket of fruit from their garden waiting for us. They even let us use a cell phone with 200 minutes to the us or anywhere during our stay, which was a huge help since none of our phones worked. They are very security conscious, and there is a locked gate along the driveway to the villa - we felt very safe staying with them.
We stayed at a resort in West Bay the last day of our stay. It was twice the price of Seapool Villa and could not hold a candle to it. If you love crowded beaches and lots of people around you all the time, West Bay may be for you. We love, love, love Sea Pool Villas! The Villa is gorgeous with lots of amenities. We kayaked, snorkeled, and had Swedish massages all right there at our private villa! You will love having a drink and going out for karaoke night with Jaw! We plan to return sooner rather than later. We have to it's where we got engaged!

My wife and I just returned from a week-long couples vacation at the Sea Pool Villas (Us and another couple). All four of us are in our early thirties and from the United States. We are from the east coast of the U.S., while the other couple is from the west coast. Although we all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, this review only reflects the opinions of my wife and I.
Booking and "Check-In"
The entire booking and check-in process was extremely easy and entirely hassle-free. We booked through vrbo.com, and paid the owner directly through pay-pal using a credit card. The owners are trustworthy and prompt in their acknowledgement of payment. As a side note, one of the women in our group became pregnant and we had to change the rental week by three months about a month after initially booking. The owners were very accommodating and did not give us any problems whatsoever.
Check-in was equally well-handled. The owners had someone meet us at the airport (usually they do it themselves, but Mrs. Wong was away last week, and so Mr. Wong had to enlist the help of a friend while he finished turning the villa over from the last rental. They assist you in retrieving your rental car, and then escort you to the property from the airport (about a 30 minute drive), while stopping twice along the way to show you the two local grocery store locations. When you arrive at the property, the owner personally takes you around the property and shows you different things you need to know (e.g. how to work the a/C).
Condition of the Rental and Grounds
The condition of the villa itself and the grounds is excellent. In fact the grounds are absolutely amazing - very impressive. The villa is exceptionally clean, and the amenities are very modern (The bathrooms are really great - great showers). My favorite part was the deck off of one of the bedrooms and the main living space. By far my favorite place to hang out, have a cocktail, and enjoy the spectacular view of the caribbean. The entire property is private, and is exclusively yours to use for your entire stay. One thing that you may see from time to time are some small insects in the villa. It is, afterall, in the jungle - so you may have some ants, beetles, moths or other things that find their way inside. This did not even approach a level that infringed upon our enjoyment of the rental whatsoever, but I do think it merits comment in case you have a real problem with bugs. This is not to imply that mosquito nets or anything like that is necessary though - this is not an open air villa - it is completely enclosed and air-conditioned - but some bugs always find their ways into houses through open doors and such. Overall though, the condition of the property was impeccable. I will revisit the issue of insects though, as it is something you should be aware of if considering a trip to Roatan. One other thing that I think warrants some type of comment is the sea pool itself. It is really doubtful that anyone would want to swim in the sea pool. It is more of a little lagoon that has fish and vegetation in it. Although we certainly did not base our reservation on it, we had a different expectation of what the sea pool would be. The owner is aware of this issue, but it definitely seems like it would be difficult to make the sea pool suitable for bathing given the nature of the structure. Essentially, the sea pool is like having a small aquarium on one side of you and the ocean on the other while you relax under the palapas on your private dock. It definitely wont detract from your enjoyment of the property.
Location of the Property
The location of the property could be viewed as either a strength or a weakness depending on what is important to you. If you want a secluded, safe, tranquil, private, and affordable modern jungle villa that sits right on the Caribbean - then this is the place for you. However, if you are looking to walk out onto white sands and sit in a lounge chair while someone brings you frozen drinks - you may want to think about staying in the West Bay. Although you should know that the popular beaches reportedly become packed with travelers from cruise ships and other tourists during the peak times, and staying in one of the west bay resorts will not be nearly as tranquil or affordable as the sea pool villas. It is important to know that you will not have much in terms of a traditional beach on the sea pool property though, and so if that is your determining factor, you may not be happy at the Sea Pool Villas. The villa is just under an hour drive from the west bay (there are other beaches like sandy cove that are a bit closer), and you can definitely take a day trip there (we took two). Then you can return to your private villa, leaving the hustle and bustle of the West Bay behind. There are certainly pros and cons to each location, but after experiencing both, we think that the Sea Pool Villas comes out on top. Bottom line, you should know that it is about a twenty minute drive to the closest grocery store (which is in French Harbor) and that you are definitely going to need to rent a car and travel to any destination you want to visit while on the island. The property is at the end of a winding dirt road that is about two and a half miles long. It is not the most convenient location (that is not to say it is bad), but definitely makes for a very cool experience.
Food/Water
We were very concerned about this issue as Honduras, and therefore Roatan, is third world. Sea Pool Villas offers filtered well water that is safe to drink from the tap. This is a huge deal, and offers peace of mind throughout your entire stay. I once contracted dysentery while traveling to Egypt, and it was not fun, so we were super cautious about the food and water situation. As far as food goes - one of the best parts of the villa is that it offers modern kitchen amenities and you are able to cook all of your meals. The grocery store in French Harbor (there are actually two, but Eldons is definitely the one you want to go to) is really quite excellent. There were some funky looking local meats, but you could pay a few dollars extra for some american meats and it was well worth it just to have peace of mind. Everything else in the store though is really quite similar to any grocery store you would see in the United States, Canada, Britain, etc. It served us very well. Its not exactly cheap,but its not overly expensive either. There are also plenty of restaurants that you can choose from - all of which are completely safe to eat at. As I mentioned before, many of the restaurants will be a significant drive from the property and it had been suggested to us to steer clear of long drives at night as there was a fair amount of intoxicated drivers on the one windy paved road that extends through the island. One great option to consider though is "Cal's" which is actually quite close to the Sea Pool Villas, and provided my wife and I with one of our most memorable meals to date. It is an open air restaurant so you will want to make it an early dinner (before dusk) and you should apply insect repellent before going. Cals offers outstanding cuisine at an almost unfair price (unfair to cal) with unparalleled views. It is like dining in a jungle tree house that specializes in beef and seafood. If you like lobster, then get the lobster and dont look back. Trust me. Overall, do not worry about food and water in Roatan - well, worry about it - but you will pretty much know when and where you cannot drink tap water or use the ice cubes. We had zero problems.
Getting around on the island
I have already touched on this so I will be brief. There is essentially one long paved road (in one part of the island there are kind of two) that goes from one end of the island to the other. Everything is either right on this road or down a separate dirt road off of it. You need to rent a car if you are staying at Sea Pool Villas.
The owner/hosts
Last, but certainly not least: our hosts. Although we did not have the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Wong, who was away during our stay, Jaw Wong proved to be a hard-working and gracious host. The Wongs live right next door in a separate structure. This was actually a great feature as Jaw was around whenever we had any sort of issue or needed advice about activities. He actually hung out with us one night while we were grilling (there is a really cool outdoor grill at the villa that we used to grill some Mahi Mahi that I caught one morning on a fishing charter). He is very personable and, as mentioned before, extremely accommodating. Thinking back on it, it was really a huge benefit to have him on the property. Jaw will come in mid-week to neaten up, so you may want to coordinate that with him ahead of time so that you can be away while that happens. Another benefit of having the Wongs on site is the security. Not only is the rod-iron gate locked at all times, but they are extremely cognizant of who is coming and going, and it really provides some peace of mind. There is no safe for your belongings in the bedrooms - like passport or cash (we left expensive jewelry at home), but I really didn't worry about that too much between having the Wong's on-site essentially all the time and the multiple locks on the villa. They will also do your laundry for fifteen dollars if you want to pay for that service.
Ancillary Concerns:
Insects
Roatan is a jungle paradise, and therefore it has a lot of bugs. Basically, going to Roatan without a strong insect repellent would be like camping in the Canadian wilderness in the summer time without bringing any. Just be prepared, and be vigilant about reapplying at night. You will get bug bites. Its going to happen. You can minimize the amount of bites however. There were various types recommended: BuggSpray, Deep Woods Off, Cactus Juice, and Ultrathon by 3M. We went with the Ultrathon and we seemed to minimize the bites in comparison to the woman in the other couple who got eaten alive the first couple days. You may not be able to do anything about this though, as it may also just have to do with how great you taste. Just telling you what worked for us though. Sand fleas are probably the biggest problem though - mosquitos will get you a bit, but its really the "noseeums" that get you. Bottom line - dont sit out on that wonderful deck at night without applying some serious repellent or you'll be sorry.
Immunizations
another thing that we struggled with prior to our visit. We ended up going to our travel clinic and getting shots and pills. They rec'd Hep a, Tetnis, and Typhoid shots and malaria pills (Chloroquine). I don't know if any of this stuff is really necessary, but it made us feel better and really wasn't that much of a burden to get - so why not get it? Don't risk contracting some terrible illness that could have been prevented!
So, overall the Sea Pool Villas is an excellent option for an extraordinarily relaxing and enjoyable vacation. It is hard to imagine that anyone would be disappointed with these accommodations. Thanks Jaw and Brigitta for a wonderful week!Response from Brigitta Wong - 10/31/2012

For some Island experiences we indeed recommend to visit different beaches such as West Bay beach/West End, Little French Key and Camp Bay beach. At Sea Pool Villas you can swim and snorkel from our private dock into the Caribbean Sea. It is unfortunate that you were under the impression that the sea pool is a swimming pool. We never advertised in our listing that we have a swimming pool - the sea pool as you have mention in your review, is like having a small aquarium on one side of you and the ocean on the other while you relax under the palapas on your private dock. Most of our guests like to feed the fishes which are swimming around in the sea pool. We always recommend to our guests to use at all times an insect repellent (after all, newcomers are fresh blood!). We at Sea Pool Villas are very lucky to have none or very little mosquitos, however, sandflies can be everywhere, sometimes there are none and other times more, it very much depends on the wind and weather change. Unfortunately, there is no way to get rid of bugs, after all, Roatan is a tropical and exotic Island, and it does not make any difference whether you vacation elsewhere in the Caribbean, in South America or in Southeast Asia. As long as you protect yourself one should be OK, furthermore, everybody reacts differently to bites. We are very happy that our local supermarket as well as other outlets is selling a fast variety of different insect repellents, some are even based on a natural basis. We would like to thank you for your compliment about our Villa and our surroundings, we are constantly trying to improve on everything and we hope to be able to welcoming you back one of these days.

Words cannot due enough for this rental property. From our very first visit by Brigitta and Jaw's friend at the airport to the day we left their property, we were well taken care of. The home is incredibly beautiful, the amenities are more than enough, and the view is breathtaking and second to none. We were so relaxed and every thing went perfect. Brigitta set up two separate appointments for massages on the property, both were amazing and one of the best we have had. Our favorite spot was the sea deck area and simply the deck on the villa. Peaceful quiet and spacious. We will be back and highly recommend Sea Pool Villas!
Getting around Roatan was an absolute breeze and everything we needed was nearby. Restaurants, groceries, and shopping are all readily available. The owners do recommend a 4X4 vehicle. This is very true.Response from Brigitta Wong - 09/03/2012

This is an amazing private paradise! My husband, daughter and I were truly stunned at the magnificent beauty of this property. It is jaw dropping. The pictures are impressive, but believe it or not, it's better. My husband and I have traveled many places and rented many homes. We both agreed that this was the best property we have ever rented.
The house was pristine. The gardens are lush and manicured yet have a wild beauty. The dock/sitting area is incredible. At night, the land
is magical. It's dark and rich with exotic sounds from the natural habitat. There were beautiful light shows from distant heat lighting and brilliant fireflies throughout the gardens.
The most important factor in our enjoyment of our vacation experience were the owners Brigitta and Jaw. They were the premier concierges. They picked us up at the airport, made sure we were totally comfortable, arranged massage and pedicures that we enjoyed outside in the beautiful garden next to the water. They helped us with all aspects of the best places to shop, eat and tour. They have excellent relationships with the locals which translated into excellent service for us by the massage service, dive shop and restaurants.
Bottom line, it was the best vacation we have ever had.

I don't see how we could possibly have done better than to select Sea Pool Villas for our first visit to Roatan. The house was immaculate, air-conditioned, modern, and comfortable, with breathtaking ocean views from the balconies. The surrounding grounds were groomed, manicured, and gorgeous. The private dock was a great place to hang out, and the local dive shop picked us up right there every day; a spectacular coral reef was just minutes away. We were given a cell phone upon arrival, programmed with phone numbers we might need. We were given wonderful advice of where we Must eat (Cal's) where we Must go (Little French Key), and were invited to join our hosts Jaw and Brigitta and their friends for karaoke night. (A blast!) The location was far from the crowds at West Bay and West End and afforded us the quiet and privacy we were seeking. I loved getting up at sunrise every morning and strolling the quiet grounds, taking pictures. We'll be back!!

We are two couples in our mid fifties who stayed two weeks at Sea Pool Villas in March. We started planning our vacation in august. Brigitta answered all of our questions and provided a lot of helpful suggestions to assist in planning our vacation.
Sea Pool Villas - what a beautiful tropical home base for our exploration of Roatan. The grounds, the villa, and views from the decks were breathtaking. A favorite part of our day was having a cup of coffee on the deck looking out over the beautiful gardens and reef.
Brigitta and Jaw were gracious and accommodating hosts. Jaw was there to meet us at the airport and after picking up our rental four by four (absolutely required), he stayed with us while we bought provisions in French Harbour. Kayaks that we had arranged through Brigitta were waiting for us (two singles and a double).
A cell phone was provided to each couple with preprogrammed numbers for convenience. We explored Roatan from West Bay to Camp Bay and points in between. We went on two private snorkeling excursions; one to Pigeon Cay by speedboat (picked up at Sea Pool Villas at our private dock) and another along the south coast on a Catamaran. Our only regret was that we did not have a few more days to just stay put and enjoy Sea Pool Villas; I.e. kayaking, snorkeling and just enjoying cold drinks by the sea pool. It was one of our most memorable vacations.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We saw the raving reviews and decided to try it out. We were not disappointed. It was paradise!
Jaws and Brigitta were fabulous hosts. Jaws met us at the airport and we were able to follow him to the villa. They were a wealth of knowledge about the island and gave us many tips for places to go. They gave us a cell phone to use for the week and were only a phone call away, if you needed them. Otherwise, you didn't even know they were there.
The villa was amazing. Even better than the pictures! Everything was clean and well kept. The gardens were beautiful. The views were just stunning. We were able to kayak to the reef and snorkel--it was incredible.
The villa is located on a quiet part of the island, so plenty of quiet and relaxation. We rented a 4x4 vehicle (per the Wong's recommendation) and you need it. With the 4x4, we were easily able to explore all parts of the island.

I've stayed it See Pool Vila with my friends, a married couple. It's enough space at villa for any mix. It's an amazing place for a vocation! It's not just a beautiful house with a gorgeous ocean view! It's a great place for relaxation and physical activities as well. The place is very private and is gated. It has a European design inside and is very comfortable, functional, and clean. The sunrise and sunset views are amazing. But there no need to just spend time in the house. We visited many restaurants and clubs there. It's just 60 miles long! Thank my friends for seducing me to go there! Thank you Brigitta an Jaw for having such a great place!

We just got back from our 1 week stay at Sea Pool and I can honestly say it was our best vacation in years. Jaw met us at the airport and took us to get our rental car and then we followed him to the house.
As soon as you enter the villa it will take your breath away. It has to be one of the most spectacular views in the entire Caribbean. The villa is spotlessly clean and has everything you need including very comfortable beds.
The grounds of the property are covered in flowers and tropical fruit trees with hummingbirds flying all around you.
We loved to sit on the large balcony with a drink and just stare at the waves breaking on the reef in front of the house. We took the kayak out to the reef and saw dozens of starfish and conch which you can reach down and touch. Some spots are so shallow you can get out of the kayak and the water will only be up to your knees.
This place is truly paradise and Jaw and Brigitta are the nicest people you will ever meet. Make sure that Jaw brings you bananas from the garden, they are delicious. Anything you want to know about the island just ask and they will help you.
If you think the photos are great, believe me, the photos don't do this villa justice. It exceeded all our expectations.
We are already planning to return next year.

Our group of 4 went to Roatan to experience the wonderful diving offered around the island. After being greeted at the airport by the owner, we followed him in our rental 4x4 truck to the grocery store to stock up on provisions for the week. We then completed the ~30 minute trip from the airport to this great property.
One of the main reasons we chose this property was the promise of being picked up at the house dock by a local dive shop, to help minimize our time driving around and maximize our time exploring underwater. While this worked perfectly on the first day, that unfortunately ended up being the only day it worked out. Apparently the north side of the island is subject to more wind/waves and not being a meteorologist, I am not sure if it was a time of year thing or if the north side is just less predictable as far as diving conditions go. In any case, this led to us having to do a lot more time driving to the other side of the island, to meet our dive boat and get out on the water. Since this was the reason for our visit, it was a bit of a letdown, but I understand weather is unpredictable. I wish we had just known this was a high possibility, which a few locals said was the case.
The driving, including to/from this property, really requires a 4WD vehicle, especially if there have been any recent rains. Of course, the end result is you arrive at a really peaceful property, with virtually no light or noise pollution once the sun sets. The house itself was very well kept, with huge bathrooms, terrific showers, plenty of hot water and nice separation between the two suites. The kitchen could have used a few more supplies (pots/pans/storage containers) for those that enjoy cooking, which we did a lot, as it's just easier after a long day of exploring. The "Sea Pool" was really not available, I think due to recent storms, but if you're hoping to go swimming in it, you may want to see if it has been cleaned up and if it has higher water levels. It was cool to watch the fish who made it a home though.
While having the owners next store was helpful in case you needed something, it was a little overbearing at times being called when we turned on certain exterior lights or having a note left for you because a kayak handle accidentally broke off and so on. A note on the "kayak rental" here - I don't suggest it. As I mentioned, the weather on the north side made conditions challenging more often than not, so for what we paid, we didn't get our use out of them. Secondly, guests have to carry them down from the house, navigating a right angle on the stairway down and then finish the descent to the beach. After a day of diving, it was a lot of effort to lug those heavy kayaks down and then back up after each use. There was talk of the owners putting them down by the water in a locked storage area, so once that's in place, go for it. But until then, I'd just look up a kayak rental once you're down there and pick a day or two to go explore another part of the island.
One last thing, while there was a washer/dryer in the basement of the house, we weren't allowed to use them without paying an extra fee. For a property of this caliber, I think giving guests to ability to use these machines would be a nice touch. Especially for divers, who are more often than not just trying to dry out a few towels and swimsuits. All in all, we have a great time down there, but I wanted to provide a little feedback for those thinking about visiting with the intent to scuba dive.
When you go down to the water for one of those amazing sunsets, be sure to get some bug stuff on, as those no-see-ums certainly saw us! We left ours at the house for the next guests! Enjoy your time down there.Response from Brigitta Wong - 03/01/2012

It is very unfortunate that you made your reservation during the rainy and hurricane season where the weather is unpredictable and the sea is rougher. Our guest are advised to contact Subway Watersports directly to find out all information regarding diving conditions etc. We always recommend to rent a 4x4 vehicle because Roatan has many gravel roads and during the rainy season it is essential to use a 4x4. In the kitchen we supply 5 pans plus 1 kettle and we have 5 Pyrex containers of different sizes. If guest require additional items they are most welcome to ask for more. Our Sea Pool is not advertised as a swimming pool. The water level of the Sea Pool is actually the sea level and we cannot adjust the height. There are openings for the various fish/marine life to enter the sea pool and are free to leave whenever they want. A double kayak is quite heavy and it is too difficult for one person to carry around and for this reason the handle of the kayak broke. Help would be available if required, in fact help was actually offered but was refused. As mention under our βFeaturesβ, laundry service can be provided with additional charges, which are by the way very reasonable. Furthermore, in our Villa we supply clothing lines for our guest to dry out towels and swimsuits. We did not ask our guest to turn on certain lights as stated, in fact we ask our guest to turn off the exterior lights when not required due to very high energy cost on Roatan Island. After all, if everyone of us would conserve energy, we would live in better World today! It is most unfortunate that your stay at Sea Pool Villas was not completely to your expectation, but we hope that overall you still enjoyed your stay at the Villa and on Roatan Island. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the lovely Sea Pool Villas and could not have had a better time. Despite a bit of rainy weather, the views both inside and out are so spectacular you dont mind staying home and just taking it all in. Of course, we also got out and explored the island as well and the tips and advice they gave us was wonderful as well. The villa has a good location on the far prettier north side of the island - not far from the grocery store as well as some good local restaurants. Great views + great villa + great hosts = great trip! Hope we can make it back there and visit again - or perhaps have Brigitta and Jaw over for dinner at our own place should me make the plunge and invest in some real estate!

I normally do not write reviews but since I use them myself our visit to Sea Pool Villas is a good one to start with.
Looking for that perfect place to snorkel, swim, and scuba dive? Are you one of the few that would rather be away from the crowd? Well you have found that place.
From the first e-mail to the last goodbye you will be treated like a good friend. This was my wifeβs first trip to the Caribbean to be able to swim in warm ocean water. We had lots of questions that Brigitta or Jaw answered or just took care of themselfs. You will need a four wheel transportation as the roads are not the best and you will be able to travel anywhere on the island. As I could not communicate with the rental agencies at the airport, Brigitta made the reservation for us. She also made a great recommendation as to the type of vehicle for us, now that is service. When we arrived at the airport Brigitta had a friend of theirs meet us. He helped get the rental car, and then took us to the local food store for supplies and help with the money conversion, remember you are on an island and the price of food is a little higher. As Sea Pools was not ready yet we where taken to a great restaurant to have a little lunch and get more information from someone that lives on the island about the doβs and donβt to have a great time. Watch out for the taxis as they will stop anywhere (in the middle of the road) to pick up customers. Listen for the little honk to know they may be stopping. The drive from the airport at about 60 km max was about 25 minutes on the only paved road. Then off to the left and out into the country road to Sea Pool Villas, remember where you turned for later. The lands at and around the gate and house are all well groomed and full of flowers and fruit trees. Brigitta and Jaws met us when we arrived and showed us paradise with the view. The pictures do not do the house and lands justice. Everything you will need is in the house to use and all is high quality so enjoy. You will find a basket full of fruit that seems to be refilled as needed. Brigitta and Jaws gave us a local cell phone to use that will give you peace of mind in case you need help or need to make calls for activities. This came in handy as we needed guidance to get to Hole In the Wall for lunch, a must see once. Also Subway Dive Shop is just around the corner and will pick you up off the dock if you wish. A great place to Snorkel or Dive from.
Brigitta and Jaws live just around the corner, easy walk, if you need anything. We ask for some kayaks for the two weeks we were there and they had them ready to use the day we arrived. If you wish to be completely alone, you will never see them. I would recommend you do ask them about the island and places to see and eat.
The house was everything we could ask for, comfortable, high quality and a 180 deg view of the ocean. Water was not a problem and drinkable from the tap, remember you are on an island so conserve. Sea Pool Villas was by far the most relaxing place my husband and I have spent a vacation. The facility is half way down the island's north shore but well worth the drive. It's away from the noise and crowds but has all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The Wongs are friendly, knowledgable, and hospitable. They treated us like family. Jaw not only cooked for us and introduced us to friends, but he even took time to show us special places on the island. We felt safe and secure throughout our stay. The property is set on a hillside with 180 degree views of ocean, tropical plants, gardens, and sky! There is a wonderful beach and dock complete with sea pool, palapas, and places to lounge about or swim, snorkel, fish, and kayak. It is truly a paradise. We can't wait to get back!

This was our second visit to Roatan and our first time at Sea Pool Villas.
The accommodation was very clean, modern and comfortable, the shower was unbelievable!!! The view from the balcony was amazing, it had an uninterrupted view of the blue ocean, reef and awesome sunsets. There is a vast array of tropical plants in the garden attracting many hummingbirds (of which I love), butterflies and other colorful insects.
Our hosts were very friendly, very informative about things to do and places to eat. Fishing from the dock was great and seeing the various types of fish in the pool was amazing. We would definately recommend this vacation rental and we hope very soon to return with our children. Have visited the Caribbean several times but have never stayed at a better place! The attention to detail given by Jaw and Brigitta in creating this tropical treasure is second to none. The property is located in a very private area mid-island about 15 min from French Harbour, a good sized town where you can find anything you need. The road turning in to the property is long and bumpy so a 4 wheel drive is essential. However, once you get to the property, the road to paradise is forgotten. The Villa is absolutely beautiful! The pictures are not too good to be true and will exceed your expectations. A welcome basket with fresh fruit from the property and fresh flowers awaited us. The Villa is modern and being a clean freak, I must say, it was immaculate! The kitchen is supplied with everything you need. The shower is a work of art...absolutely awesome! There are 2 efficient air conditioners. You will only need to run one at a time...I promise! The balcony overlooks the turquoise water, exquisite gardens at every turn and is positioned perfectly to enjoy a unique sunset each evening. Once we arrived, we didn't really care if we ever left "home" or not. Jaw and Briggita are right next door and share a wealth of information about the area and are available and eager to help with anything you may need. For amazing snorkeling, arrange a kayak rental with Brigitta, pick a calm day, and kayak to the reef (better to the west of dock). For great swimming, we enjoyed the clear, sandy bottom areas between the dock and the reef. You can also swim right at the dock. The white sandy beach to the east of the property is nice for walking. Thank you Jaw, Brigitta and Melinda for your hospitality and for allowing us to stay in your beautiful Villa for a moment in time we'll never forget. Melinda, you were a great housemate! We enjoyed meeting you all and your great friends. We enjoyed our nights at The Palapa Bar, Stephanie's, and Gio's. We are looking forward to seeing you again! :)

Our family, with two kids (ages 13 and 10) are passionate travelers who love active holidays, natural beauty, and privacy. Sea Pool Villas house and gardens are immaculate and peaceful, and Brigitta and Jaw are amazing hosts. The villa is designed to beautifully accommodate a family of four with children who are mature and responsible enough to feel comfortable in their own space. We enjoyed cooking most meals in the lovely kitchen, and the balcony was perfect for eating and relaxing. Brigitta and Jaw work very hard designing and maintaining their garden and it shows. We saw a variety of creatures on the property. Lizards on the balcony, sticky-toed-frogs, hummingbirds, iguanas, leaf cutter ants... way cool stuff.
Brigitta arranged rental and delivery of sea kayaks for us so we could kayak to the reef and snorkel there. We saw pristine reef and tons of fish! It was incredible snorkeling and we had the place to ourselves. Loved it! We also kayaked to Turquoise Bay Resort once, which was a fun paddle.
We wanted to do a lot of diving on this trip and were thrilled with the service we received from Subway Dive Shop. They picked us up at Sea Pool Villas dock at no additional cost, and provided very personal, professional service. It's Roatan! The dives are awesome! Our daughter came on the boat with us and snorkeled with interns from Subway during most of our dives. She had a blast and learned so much!
If you decide to stay at Sea Pool Villas you do need a four wheel drive vehicle. Watch out for the crazy taxi drivers in towns! Don't forget to stock up on rum at Eldons. From the villa's beautiful private dock you can sip your beverage and enjoy a stunning sunset, or even a massage. Now when I need to go to a relaxing place in my mind, I think palapa massage... If you are independent travelers and relish natural beauty and quiet, you will love this place.

Our family of three had an absolutely amazing time. We loved the seclusion but enjoyed having Jaw and Brigitta nearby to assist and hang out with. Jaw met us at the airport so there was no issue getting from the airport to the villas. At our request we spent three nights together and had a blast including a memorable Karaoke Night! But if you are into snorkeling and/or diving this is the place. A 10 minute kayak from their private beach leads to an absolutely amazing reef. What's awesome is that it is really easy to control the dept such that you can stay in 6 - 10 ft waters with amazing coral and fish or venture off the edge of the reef where is drops 60 to 80 ft. The View is spectacular... pictures just don't do it justice and it's remarkable how few boats are ever out on the reef considering how spectacular it is. Also, the store is a little bit of a trek so we recommend you plan meals in adv if you plan to cook in. You can then pickup what you need on the way in from the airport. 2 things we didn't do was diving and golf... need to save something for next time. For a change of scenery there is a nice resort over the hill approx 10 min that had a nice man-made lagoon and beach bar which was fun for an afternoon or evening but always enjoyed being able to leave and head back to the villas. We look forward to going back in 2012!

Our family vacations tend to be island oriented with an emphasis in relaxing, scuba diving and snorkeling. Well,if you are looking for a great place to do all 3, this is it. The accomodations are just spectacular! Everything is well maintained. You can tell the owners, Brigitta and Jaw take great pride in their villa. The seapool deck is a great place to relax and enjoy the sun.
Snorkeling to the west of the dock is good around dusk but the best is out by the reef. You definitley need a kayak to reach the reefs. Our dive and snorkeling trips were great. It can be arranged for the dive boat to pick you up right there on your dock. Very convenient.
This is the place to go if you are looking for quiet time, and avoiding the noise of "Resorts". You basically will not see anyone else walking the beachfront. Go and enjoy a great place on an island that still really hasn't been discovered!Response from Brigitta Wong - 08/18/2011

Cant say enough! We were immediately welcomed at the airport by Jaw and shown around various places and grocery stores. Upon entering the Villa we were welcomed with fresh home grown fruit from their beautiful garden...was delicious! Brigitta and Jaw have gone out of their way to make sure their guest are comfortable and knowledgeable about the island. We were given a cell phone with preset numbers which was a huge Plus! I cant say enough about the views. Outside the bedroom window you can see the ocean through the palms, looking out through the patio your view is amazing foliage of flowers and fruit trees all the way down to a private deck right on the ocean. The Villa was immaculate and completely furnished to make your stay comfortable. Ac units are fantastic and all rooms have great ceiling fans! Best of all...it was so relaxing and quiet. Like our own private getaway :)
This place will always hold a special spot in our hearts...We got engaged on this wonderful island...and our stay at the Villa more than completed the romance of our vacation.

First I would like to tell everyone that is interested in staying here, This is an absolutely beautiful villa. Inside and out. The Home is actually better than the pictures and no other guests can stay so you have the place to yourself. You either come with 2 people or 4. If you are visiting with 2 others, you may never even see them thanks to the layout. Brigitta and Jaw give you everything you need when you arrive there. We even got a nice fruit basket of items grown there in their beautiful Caribbean garden. I cant stress how nice this villa is.
If you dive, they have an agreement with Subway Dive shop, and they pick you up on your dock at whatever time you tell Subway to come. Sidenote: Subway is a great group of people and we have made friends for life there .
The biggest drawback, which may be a positive, is that it is at least 15 minutes from anything. While this makes it safer to me since the island has questionable crime areas. A drive to West End (the bar district) is 45 minutes by car. There is one road and it is the most winding road you can imagine. You are 15 mins from 2 good grocery stores which Jaw shows you where they are on the way from the airport.

We stayed at Sea-Pool Villas at the end of May 2011 for our 10th anniversary and were very pleased with the arrangements from beginning to end. Jaw met us at the airport as expected, helped us with our rental vehicle, took us to the local supermarket and guided us to the villa. The house is perfectly situated on a natural Honduras beachfront with a spectacular view. It is beautifully decorated with great pride and was very comfortable, secluded, clean and safe. The beach is nice and natural, but don't expect a large, resort style artificial setting, it is the real deal. We maybe saw 2 other people walking by on the beach the whole week, which was nice. There are nice, permanent palapas with padded chairs for lounging. Jaw and Brigitta were very helpful with any arrangements we needed, but were still respectful of our privacy. They stay on the property so they are easily accessible for any questions you may have. Diving couldn't have been easier. Brigitta arranged for Subway diver's to pick us up on the private dock each morning and drop us off when we were finished for the day. It was very convenient. Subway diver's (who were wonderful/highly recommend) is only a couple minute boat ride the Villa. Depending on who you ask, the diving is supposedly better on the East end since it's not as overrun with divers. The reef was beautiful and there was a variety of options from wreck dives to cave dives, etc without any long boat rides. Brigitta also arranged for a kayak rental for the week, which was delivered to the house for our personal use. The house is located toward the Eastern end of the island, so it is far enough away from West Bay to be peaceful, but close enough that you can reach it in a 30 minutes or so drive on 95% paved roads. If you are looking for the party scene, which we weren't, you may want to stay closer to west end. If you're going to Honduras and want to dive or just hang out, Sea Pool Villas is an excellent place to get away with no worries!

We arrived in Roatan with Jaw meeting us at the airport and assisting with our Ecno Car Rental and leading us to SeaPool Villas. Once at SeaPool Villas, we were greeted warmly by Brigitta and were astounded by the amazing view and lush vegetation surrounding us. The pictures do not do this resort justice. SeaPool Villas is a first class luxary resort with top of the line appliances and furnishings. The bed was dreamy and the shower to die for. We sipped glasses of wine gazing at our unobstructed views of the scarlet skies as the sun went down. Jaw and Brigitta were gracious hosts and made us feel like friends and family, being sure that our every need was met including fresh bananas and coconuts from their very own garden...wow. Privacy was not an issue as we had the entire villa to ourselves with our own private dock and beach. Snorkeling was great with coral reefs just off the dock, the waters crystal clear and warm. This was our 2nd visit to Roatan and we had stayed at a much more expensive resort previously, however, we find Seapool Villas to be far superior in both accomodation and creature comforts. The Perfect Spot
We just returned from our trip to Sea Pool Villas and we are already planning a return trip. This is the best spot on the Island. The views are spectacular and the accomodations are first class. The villa was spotless, beautifully decorated, air conditioned, and had very comfy beds. It was far enough away from the West End to be private, but close enough to be able to get anywhere quickly. We kayaked, snorkled, and swam right in front of the house, and there were beautiful coral reefs just feet from the shore. The best part, however, was meeting the owners. They were the extremely gracious hosts and helped us have the best Roatan experience. We know we will remain friends for a long time. We will not stay anywhere else and are recommending Sea Pool Villas to all our friends.

Upon immediately arriving at this sea side paradise you open the door and are amazed at the luxury of this home. Tall ceilings and beautiful island decor' greets you. Large windows that surround the home allows breathtaking views of the lush tropical gardens or of the turquoise sea from almost every room. The large stone shower is amazing. Magnificent scenery is all around, Hummingbirds flutter all around the colorful foliage in the tropical gardens. Brigitta & Jaw have put their heart and soul into this house and it shows in every detail. The large deck surrounds the beautiful sea pool and all you can think is that you have died and gone to heaven!!! There is nothing like the Caribbean breeze that caresses your skin. Brigitta & Jaw took care of everything and even met us at the airport. They are the most awesome host. Come experience this Caribbean paradise, you won't be disappointed!!! We can't wait to come again!!!.

SeaPool Villas is a lovely home with beautiful grounds, entrancing views, gorgeous sunsets and fabulous star gazing (very little light pollution). We (2 couples) stayed there for 2 weeks, 2/19-03/05 2011. The home is somewhat but not too, remote. You will rarely, if ever see anyone on the beach. The cruise ship crowd will never find you. It affords great privacy but with our rental car restaurants, grocery, etc. are easily accessible. The kitchen is well supplied and sufficient for most meal preps. The bed and bath rooms are virtually identical, well appointed and very comfortable. The owners live nearby on the property and will be around as much or as little as you like. They are a tremendous resource, are eager to please and ensure that you enjoy your stay. They met us at the airport, assisted with our car rental, took us to the grocery store, gave us a map and a quick island preview. You'll have your own private dock and Pilapas (the tiki hut looking things). Snorkeling is good for the novice around the dock area with shallow depths and a few coral heads to the left. For the more hard core snorkeler rent kayaks and go out to just inside the reef to deeper walls of coral. If you go out to the reef at low tide you can find sandy spots to stand in with depths less than 4 feet. Highly recommend you have the owner rent the kayaks for you in advance of your arrival to be assured availability of good kayaks. Make sure you go to the Sunday all the Lobster & Filet you can eat brunch at Hole-in-the-Wall. If you want to meet some of the ex-pats who live on Roatan, ask the owners about Mi Gatos. We have rented a lot of places in the Caribbean over the years and you'd be hard put to find better. We highly recommend SeaPool Villas and will definitely be back.

Having traveled to many of the Islands in the Caribbean, we have found Sea Pool Villas to be, without a doubt, our favorite destination.
The owners, Brigitta and Jaw, are two of the nicest people we have ever met. Starting off with Jaw meeting us at the airport and guiding us to our rental car and then to the grocery store. We found the location of Sea Pool Villas to be close enough to the essentials and yet far enough away not to be bourdon by them. If needed, Brigitta and Jaw can make arrangements from diving to dinning with just about anything in between.
We met Brigitta at the Villa and she settled us into our little slice of heaven.
Upon arriving at the Villa and opening the front door, the view absolutely took our breath away! From the well-manicured landscaping, to the Turquoise waters, Sea Pool Villas is absolutely beautiful.
The well-kept Villa has a new modern kitchen and bath with an absolutely fantastic shower! The king size bed was so comfortable with the Caribbean breezes at night. The view from the deck, which is where we dined the most, was phenomenal from sunrise to the gorges sunsets every night.
There is great snorkeling amongst the corral reefs just off the private dock. Additional snorkeling can be had with just a short kayak ride to the reef. Brigitta can make the necessary arrangements for a kayak. Also as we did, one can just lie out on the nice deck furniture after snorkeling and soak up the sun next to the Palapa's with fresh coconuts from their garden that were prepared by Javier.
Initially we planned a week long vacation, but with Brigitta and Jaw being such gracious host and Sea pool Villas such a Caribbean Paradise, we extended our stay longer. We were having such a great time that we did not want to leave. We highly recommend Sea Pool Villas as "theβ place to stay in Roatan. We most definitely will be back!
