You just found a gem of a home! With two bedrooms and a sleeping loft, ours is a very sweet family-owned beach cottage located in a quiet neighborhood of Rockaway Beach Oregon. Stay a week and pay for only 6 nights.
Completely renovated a short time ago, it feels like a new home inside a quaint turn of the century structure. A pleasing blue and white color scheme throughout with light colored wood accents. The house is located on the west side of Highway 101, with the beach path just 200 steps to the sand. Rockaway Beach is on the Oregon Coast Highway between Sunset Highway (US 26) and the Scenic Wilson River Highway (SR 6) just shy of 90 miles from Portland Oregon. This is a sleepy little beach town just like you imagined with the center of town only a mile from the beach house, an easy walk if you want to go to a restaurant, buy ice cream cones, or a kite. The sound of the steam whistle from the excursion train billows out to the beach when it goes by. You can take a trip on it along the coast between Rockaway Beach and Garibaldi adding to a great vacation memory. The beach itself is sparsely populated. Sometimes it is as if you have your own private beach.

This cottage was incredible!!! It was perfectly clean, beautifully decorated, and just steps away from a practically private beach! Jeannine has every detail covered - from kitchen cookware to kids books and games, the cottage has everything! The beach is gorgeous and Jeannine supplies beach toys, chairs, kites. Our kids loved the loft upstairs and spent hours playing "house" up there! Thank you Jeannine for sharing your amazing home with us!

We stayed at 'Saltair' for a week in august and loved every minute of it! The cottage is beautifully furnished on the inside and tastefully landscaped with lots of flowers on the outside. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. And literally anything we might have needed was right there in the cottage: DVD player, iPod dock, barbecue, chiminea, beach toys and even crab utensils. We spent most of our time on the beach (just 2-3 minutes walk down the trail), but also went hiking in the local woods, road the steam train to Garibaldi and checked out the Tillamook Cheese Factory. With the gorgeous views of Twin Rocks and all the local shops and restaurants, Rockaway Beach is the perfect place to stay on the Oregon coast. Literally everything about our stay was pleasant and relaxing. We will definitely come back to this lovely town and magical beach cottage!

We spent the last week of September at Saltair. The place is immaculate. The owner has obviously put much thought and care into making it comfortable, cozy, snug, inviting, homey, attractive. I could go on, but you get the picture. With the exception of fresh food everything you could need is there, even down to sharpened pencils! The pretty cottage garden is a really nice touch. Not to mention location: a short walk through a lovely wooded path and you're at a long, clean stretch of beach. Our stay at Saltair was well worth the long drive from Billings Montana, and we are already making plans to return in 2012. Janine and Roger Pryor

Saltair make a great weekend getaway. We were there during a rainy October and it was so peaceful. It's quiet and clean and well stocked with necessities. It's a very easy place to stay and recharge.
