This beach house is full of vintage charm! From its eye-catching orange exterior to the upright piano to the old-fashioned wood stove, this getaway has a lot of character and a lot to love. Fresh from a recent remodel with an updated kitchen, laminate floors, and brand-new bedding, this affordable retreat is a real find!
The one bedroom house has a spacious living room, complete with comfy seating, and a TV with DVD player (no cable). A cozy wood stove adds to the house's delightfully old-school ambiance. The kitchen, however, is stocked with plenty of modern amenities and all the supplies needed to prepare meals. A colorful dining tabl...e seats six.
The house's bedroom has a comfortable full-sized bed with brand-new Sealy mattress and plenty of storage space for your beach or fishing gear. A convenient bunk room offers sleeping for two more on a bunk bed, and an additional futon brings the possible sleeping accommodations to six. There is one full bathroom, and the house is pet-friendly with just a $10 per night, per pet fee (please note that the home's backyard, however, is not accessible to guests at this time). The house also has a washer and dryer which is nice and convenient for longer stays!
The Orange Beacon is perfectly located in downtown Rockaway Beach, just two blocks from the sandy beach and one block from the main drag's restaurants, antique shops, and ice cream parlors. Rockaway Beach's slow-paced style makes it the perfect getaway for a family vacation or relaxing weekend. Spend your days fishing, crabbing, surfing, or just kicking back on the beach; then come home to your lovable orange beach house. It doesn't get much better than that!

This house delivered everythig we were expexting, and more. This was a perfect getaway for my small family, and being able to bring the dog was fantastic. Sunrise and sunset beachwalks were a highlights of the stay. Being two blocks from the beach made it a true beach vacation! Immediate access to the town was a treat, as we could get some easy meals if we didn't feel like cooking. On a rainy evening, we thoroughly enjoyed playing games and watching a movie at the house.
It was nice to be in a small town, but to have Tillamook's Safeways and Fred Meyers ten minutes to the South. We rented a boat at Nehalem Bay and did some crabbing. I could go on about the available activites in the area, but the point is, we were very happy heading back to the "Orange Beacon" at the end of day!

House is about a two block walk straight to the beach at Rockaway, and Rockaway is also well situated for trips to other spots of interest on the Oregon coast. The house is quiet and stayed warm offseason despite the sometimes cold weather we had outside with electric heat. There's also a woodstove but we didn't use it. The fully stocked kitchen let us cook whatever we wanted; the grocery store in Tillamook is cheaper and has more selection than the one in Rockaway (which is only a few blocks from the house) so we made a trip to Tillamook and stocked up the fridge. You are also an easy walk to several good reasonably-priced Rockaway restaurants. Rockaway is far less touristed that other spots on the coast and that was part of why we picked this house and we were not disappointed. The decor is average, but we came for the outdoors, so who cares. It has a piano and flat-screen TV with DVD player and a quirky collection of books, including some about local history. There is a very small fenced backyard where a dog can be put out, but make sure you prop something against the side gate to keep it closed. Overall, a great value for the money.

A short walk to the beach, but far enough off the main road to be peaceful.
The beach house was well-kept and inviting. It was nice to have a covered car port, too.
The perfect relaxing getaway in Oregon's less-traveled beach town!
Orange Beacon Stay

The Orange Beacon House is spacious and clean. Hardwood floors are particularly nice and eliminate the problem of sand in carpeting. The kitchen has everything you'll need. The beach is a short walk away and great for walking, jogging, sunrise and sunsets. There are books and games, including Scrabble.
Great place, great location, cozy house by the ocean in real bea

This is my favorite place to stay on the Oregon coast. Rockaway Beach is one of the last old-fashioned beach towns and this unique house is a couple blocks from the beach and downtown. No need for a car! Cute little house with a nice piano, stove, library, and ocean breeze and sounds. Jump on the steam train in the summer for a neat ride along the sea to Garbaldi. Tillamook cheese is nearby. Great place at low cost for family.
