A perfect little cottage in a beautiful town!

Left on 07/01/2012 for a stay in June 2012

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights with our 3 little boys in June. We had a wonderful experience and are hoping to return next summer. After traveling from Minnesota, and staying in hotels on the way, it was so nice to have a full kitchen along with a washer and dryer! Our sons loved the Teddy Bear loft, which was full of toys, books and games to entertain them.

We all fell in love with Rockport! The old homes are beautiful and we loved walking down Bearskin Neck and looking at all the cute shops and restaurants. The train station is just a few blocks away, so it was very convenient for us to walk down in the morning and catch a train to Boston for a day.

Pat was very friendly and helpful...the perfect hostess! I would definitely recommend Sea Mist Cottage to anyone!

      Private, quiet, convenient location

Left on 09/14/2011 for a stay in September 2011

My husband and I enjoyed 5 nights in the Sea Mist cottage. The location is walking distance to Bearskin Neck and the shore, and pretty much everything else in town. It was great to have our own kitchen. Pat was very helpful when we needed information (and instructions on how to boil crab the right way!). The only thing I would change is the bed-the mattress was somewhat uncomfortable. That's the only reason I gave a 4-star rating rather than a 5-star rating. Thank you Pat, for everything!

It's definitely worth the effort if you wake up early to catch the sunrise over the bay!

      Fantastic accommodation

Left on 08/13/2011 for a stay in June 2011

My husband and I stayed in Sea Mist Cottage for four days at the end of June. It is absolutely gorgeous and I really recommend it. For those of you who are from the UK and are thinking of a holiday to Boston, New England, it's really not difficult to get to. Once you arrive at Boston Logan airport, you just get the underground into North Station in Boston and then the commuter train out to Rockport which is about a one hour direct journey. Rockport itself is a beautiful seaside town and really easy to walk around. Everything is very accessible and because Rockport is on the trainline, it is easy to go to Boston, Gloucester, Manchester by the Sea for day trips on the train.

Pat Mandell (owner of SeaMist Cottage) met us at the station and took us back to the property. The cottage itself is very clean, light and spacious. It has everything you could need in terms of kitchen equipment, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, etc. If you are wanting to stay somewhere that's a little bit different and special, then this is the place. It would also make a great for a honeymoon.

Pat Mandell is also really friendly and helpful and she and her daughter made us feel very welcome. We had a great time at Sea Mist Cottage and would love to go there again.

My husband and I stayed at the Sea Mist Cottage over Easter weekend. The cottage is in a great location and it is nicely appointed and very clean. We enjoyed walking downtown, shopping, dining and spending time on the beach. We checked out a movie in Gloucester at a cool theater with couches and arm chairs and they served tea and popcorn. We also hiked through Dogtown in the rain. It was the perfect weekend getaway!

A cozy nest away from home!

Left on 10/05/2010 for a stay in September 2010

When we arrived, Pat was waiting to greet us, she immdiately showed us all that we needed to know about the carriage house, keys, amenities, and available information on the surrounding area. Everything that we would need to make our stay memorable. In five minutes, we felt as though Pat was an old friend and she had opened her home to us. The carriage house had a warm and cozy atmosphere with lovely skylite windows to enjoy the beauty above, as well as screens, heat and a/C, should we need it. The place was immaculate and had everything that a couple would need for their stay. Lovely towels, snuggly robes for both, a fully stocked kitchen, and a washer and dryer if you needed it. Whether you walk or drive, everything is easily accessible. Great artisans shopping areas, lovely beaches, luscious lobster, antiques, and so much interesting history to see. Sure would urge anyone who wants a great week or weekend away for two, that you look into Sea Mist Cottage. This carriage house would not be appropriate for a family with children, since it is so petite. We can hardly wait to return to see the beautiful surroundings of Rockport and Gloucester on Cape ann and Sea Mist Cottage.

Thanks for the wonderful compliments Ellie!

      Note to families:

The cottage may look petite, but is actually ideal for families, with a children's Teddy Bear Loft and lots of family-friendly extras like games, toys, books, Portacrib, and bath toys.

      Dream Cottage---Wonderful Experience!

Left on 05/08/2010 for a stay in April 2010

This property is BETTER than described! It's beautifully decorated, it's comfortable, and it has everything you need! My sister and I met here for a getaway weekend, and it felt like home. Pat had made the King bed into twins as she advertised, and we loved seeing the stars and moon thru the skylights! The bathroom is great, spacious, and spotless (as was the whole cottage) and the shower was as good as my own---nice water pressure, not the miserable "mist" you get at motels. We had plenty of room to park two cars, off road, and it IS very close to town, we walked back and forth every day. It's very private, too.
And, Pat is very quick to respond to emails and requests---friendliest, most accomodating, most helpful (and funny!) hostess I've ever had! Easy to like, easy to deal with.
I definitely recommend! Especially if you are looking for something cute and compact. She asked us to leave suggestions (great idea) and all I could say was that she ought to have a cute painted sign on the cottage, with "Sea Mist Cottage" in colorful letters. And, there it is, perfection!

      Absolutely delightful!

Left on 03/25/2010 for a stay in January 2010

We stayed at Sea Mist Cottage over the MLK Day weekend and had a wonderful time.

The cottage is spacious, beautifully decorated and well equipped and maintained. It is very private and yet close to everything.

The king size bed was very comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom were spacious.

Every other time I've rented, I've always had to clean myself as I was not satisfied with the cleanliness.

Not this time! Sea Mist cottage was immaculate. We felt as though we were the very first visitors.

The owner, Pat, was very helpful and gave us some good tips on places to visit and good restaurants.

In addition, the cottage was supplied with a plethora of local brochures, phamplets and menus.

      A++++

Left on 03/23/2010 for a stay in March 2010

Pat was able to accommodate my girlfriend and I on very short notice. The cottage was very clean, modern, and filled with everything one could possibly need for both a short or long stay. Very cute and cozy; recommended for anyone. Very short walk to downtown. Wished we could have stayed longer and certainly plan on returning in the future!

Left on 03/11/2010 for a stay in March 2010

For a weekend stay, what I most appreciated about this cottage was the
cleanliness, the wonderful light provided by skylights, and the comfy king-
sized bed. The location is also great for walking - it's easy to get to the center
of Rockport, the shore, and other interesting locations. Since my stay was so
short, I didn't avail myself of the kitchen facilities or washer/dryer, but found
myself envisioning a longer stay where these would certainly come in handy.
Maybe the next time I come, I will bring my granddaughter, so I can share in
her enjoyment of the Teddy Bear loft!

      Life is good here!

Left on 03/10/2010 for a stay in March 2010

From the time we arrived for our reunion until we left, the experience at Sea Mist Cottage was superior. The space is well appointed, modern, airy and light, and clean.

It is conveniently located to the shops and shore in Rockport and just minutes from Gloucester. The access was very easy to beaches, great restaurants and plenty to see and do.

The property owner/manager was friendly, helpful and polite without being annoying or clinging. She wanted to make our experience the best it could be.

I'm sure I'll stay there again.

The comfort and convenience of this cozy cottage made my trip!

Left on 03/10/2010 for a stay in March 2010

I loved discovering the little places on Cape Ann! Our hostess, Pat Mandell,
was a wealth of knowledge for local and interesting places to visit, eat, hike,
and relax in the area. She steered us to wonderful places suited to our style
and needs. We enjoyed the beaches, little shops and wonderful restaurants on
a reasonable budget. Sea Mist Cottage is bright and well organized to
maximize the space in an easy, comfortable way that was warm and inviting.
The loft is a real bonus for extra space. It is close to many amenities within
walking distance, yet is quiet and private. The cottage was spotlessly clean and
up to date. Ms. Mandell adds some touches to make the stay easy and inviting.
I know with certainty that we will return to further explore the area and enjoy
the hospitality at Sea Mist Cottage.
